APA Hotel Keikyukamata Ekimae in Tokyo

I was hesitant to give 5 stars but taking into account the location and what kind of hotel this is , it does the job perfectly despite some major flaws.

If you chose this hotel you are probably looking at the proximity of the airport, you are a few minutes away from Keikyu Kamata station which is a couple of stations away from Haneda, from that aspect this hotel location is perfect.

There is another Kamata station that is 10 minutes away on foot, and that one will take you to Tokyo for half the price of the Keikyu line, so you are in a quite nice area with a quick access to Haneda, Tokyo and Kawasaki.

There is a good amount of restaurants in the vicinity, and even a Donki for your last minute shopping before taking your flight.

The rooms are spacious, we have a good amount of space to lay down suitcases and to store them near the entrance and still be able to enjoy the room space.

That said the rooms start to feel quite old, some damage here and there, the toilets would benefit from a good scrub, some room equipment has seen a lot of users …

The service is … let’s say hit or miss … I came in quite early to drop my luggage, before 7 AM , and the staff present took me in and took my luggage that early without any issue, that was quite the relief for me to not have to worry about it until the check in at 3PM.

When I asked to forward my luggage however … it was the first time I saw APA hotel staff struggle so much to do such a simple task, thankfully I am familiar with the process as I did it half a dozen of times already, but they made it unnecessarily tedious.

Overall, for the context of « need a place near the airport for 1-2 nights before the flight » this is a perfect spot, I think all the hotels in the area would be nice for that purpose, I can only testify for this one about room space that was quite useful to make my suitcases.

If you’re looking for a long stay I would advise to consider something else unless the price is really attractive.

For what I needed this hotel did the job, a little hiccup with the service but I got what I needed so I think this is a 5* rating if you’re looking for a place close to Haneda.

A great stay to be in. It offer a high quality service in a not so urban area but it is very near to KAMATA Station which will not be any issue to go to main cities of Tokyo. It has everything you need: bath tub, bath, free WiFi, yukata, and many more. Instructions or guidance also provided in English which you would not need to worry about translations. The room I had is for one person stay but it's still very sufficient for two person to stay in. Definitely would recommend others to choose this stay.

I am staying here regularly. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Rooms are good and clean with everything you need. Location of the hotel is perfect to reach everything by train in each direction including airport. Many restaurants and shops are close.

Very clean, like new. The room was spacious 17sq meters with a lot of space in the bathroom/shower-tub.
Location is a short walking distance to railway, shops and restaurants, yet the hotel is away from the noises.
I would recommend this hotel if visiting Kamata Japan.

Room is a bit small but it's Tokyo, so...
Bed was 7/10, toilet & bathroom was 9/10, other facilities 9/10. Staffs were very friendly and helps me to receive a package and assist with yamato to pick up my luggage from lobby.
Location is far from city center but near Haneda airport (taxi from airport is only 3300 yen, very affordable in Tokyo haha). 3 mins walk to Keikyu Kamata station, 10 mins walk to Kamata station. Keikyu line is pretty complicated, but every trains stop at Keikyu Kamata (this hotel station), so you won't ever miss your station. This is a live-saver.
Neighborhood is very calm and you'll hardy find any tourist, mostly locals, but there's still a decent amount of meal choices when it comes to late nights.
I'll probably re-book this hotel if I visit Tokyo again

Away from crowded Tokyo but still enjoying most of what Japan has, this area a few stop from Haneda airport is pretty good, I get to go explore Yokohama too.

Fantastic stay at this APA hotel. Very close to Haneda airport and Shinagawa station. You have two choices of major stations to ride: Kamata and Keikyu-Kamata. The former is busier than the latter. Shops, convenience stores, and dining options abound the area, and more entertainment options near the Kamata area.

The hotel is great and clean. Staff are polite, efficient, and very attentive. They can communicate well enough, and more complicated requests and inquiries they (and you should too) will use a translation app to help you as much as they can. Kudos to the the front desk for helping with all my requests like luggage transfer, specifically one of the lady receptionists. Thank you so much.

A few things we would've liked better: the rooms can get a bit dusty. A bit more thorough cleaning of vents and such would be appreciated, but it is not deal-breaking. Second, the breakfast options are a bit limited. Staying multiple nights and having the breakfast option, they can get a bit tiring. Some variety would be great, but for what is in the menu - the food has been fantastic and filling. Cheers to the restaurant staff for being so attentive as well. As the children say today, the APA Curry Cutlet pork is "bussin"
