Shikoku, Matsuyama, Takanoko-cho 737-2, 790-0925 Matsuyama, Prefektura Ehime, Yaponiya 🧭 Map
Stayed here with friends for a golf trip. Getting around wasn't an issue as we rented a car.
What really stood out was the hotel's hot spring – the water was incredibly soft and felt amazing. Even softer than Dogo Onsen, I'd say?
My only minor gripes were that there was absolutely no Korean or English spoken, and the pajamas in our room were quite old and too big. Overall, we had a good stay though
At approximately 5,000 yen per person, the hotel included hot springs and breakfast, which I felt offered excellent value for money. The hotel and guest rooms were clean, and there were no particular issues.
The parking lot was spacious and easy to park in, which was convenient. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying. The hot springs included a sauna and an open-air bath, and the facilities were excellent...
Both the exterior and interior have been beautifully restored! The hot springs were also great ♪
The hot spring was great and there was a massage chair in the room, so I was able to relax!
The room was comfortable and the heating was excellent. The onsen, which is operated in conjunction with the hotel, is especially better than Dogo Onsen. Towels and linens are provided daily, ensuring exceptional cleanliness. The breakfast was delicious and varied, making it hard to believe it was a hotel breakfast. There's also a delicious yakitori restaurant in front of the hotel. Definitely check...
Guests could use the hot springs for free.
It was a bit far from Matsuyama City,
but the staff were friendly,
and it was great to be able to enjoy the hot springs.

It was a hassle that there was no hairbrush in the room.
There may have been one at the front desk, but it was a hassle to go get it after taking a shower in the room, so I wish they would have left a brush or at least told us.
I use it once or twice a year. It's been a while since the COVID-19 pandemic, and this was my first time staying on the special floor. It's getting pretty old, so maybe it can't be helped, but I was bothered by the fact that the fabric on the upholstered sofa was worn out and you could see inside. Also, when I opened the curtains to look outside, the rubber on the window glass? It was disappointing...
The location was great and I was able to relax. I really enjoyed my trip along the Shimanami Kaido. Thank you very much.
I stayed here around November 20th. I chose to stay overnight for a multi-day course for high school boys. I'm sensitive to cold, but the air conditioning seemed to be good so I didn't get cold and my throat didn't get dry and I was comfortable. It was only adjustable with a dial, but I turned it on and off to adjust it to a weaker setting. It was standard, so the location is not outstanding, but it...
The location is okay. Because it is next to a large AEON MALL, it can basically meet the shopping requirements, and there is no problem in meeting three meals.
However, the room is relatively old and the equipment is relatively lacking... If you have no special requirements for accommodation, it is still acceptable.
A great place while traveling on the pilgrimage. Very clean. I appreciate the coffee in the lobby.

The staff were very polite and kind. Even though I had booked the same room twice through another website, they kindly processed the cancellation for me. However, it was disappointing to find clumps of hair in the shower and bathtub when I was bathing.
The hotel facilities are a bit old and the rooms are on the small side, but it was fine considering the affordable price, and I really liked that the front desk staff were incredibly friendly! They even showed me to a parking spot and waved goodbye all the way up in the elevator.
The sign said to take off your shoes, but I laughed when I saw someone who had already taken off their shoes in the hallway.
It was nice to have a welcome drink; it was especially helpful on such a hot day.
I was impressed with how environmentally conscious the operation is.
This price is normal with breakfast included, but it would be nice if parking was free.
It was about a 10 minute walk to Okaido. I took the tram to Dogo Onsen and it was easy to find and convenient. The hotel staff were very kind. There were ample amenities and I didn't have any problems, and if I stayed multiple nights I got a free mineral water server. It was great. I'll definitely use it again when I go to Dogo Onsen.

I selected this hotel as it has hot spring, but there is only one bath and I could not fully enjoy it.
The hotel is very comfortable and conveniently located.
The rooms are very clean inside and outside. The hotel has a hot spring (but there is only one, and the male and female hot springs need to be mixed at different times). The price also includes breakfast, which is first-rate value for money.
The breakfast is delicious and overall good.
Clean, comfort and quiet but small room for 2 persons

Clean, cheap, good breakfast, free parking at the hotel, save 1,000-2,000 yen. Next to the hotel is a ramen shop, and there is an onsen bath, separated by time for men and women.

I stayed here during my trip to Kochi. The staff at the counter were friendly, and the room was clean, so I had no issues during my trip.
I'll definitely stay here again on my next trip.
The bathhouse is small, but the water temperature is just right. It's close to the shopping street, and parking is very convenient.
The selection of amenities is extensive. While the self-service beverage area has a limited selection, the rest area is quite comfortable.
The triple room was just right for three people; it was very comfortable and clean.
The hotel was recently remodeled, so it was incredibly comfortable. It felt like I was in a brand new room. As is typical for business hotels, the room was small, but it was comfortable and convenient throughout my three-night stay. There's a small public bath (for men) on the top floor, but the large windows prevented any feeling of stuffiness, making for a comfortable stay. The location was also...
It's conveniently located just a one-minute walk from the second tram stop from Harimayabashi. On the top floor, there's a small, but relaxing, compact bath with a great view. Kochi Castle is also nearby, and there's a fun Sunday market on the nearby street.
The location is convenient as there are many things within walking distance!
The room was clean, but had a rather rustic feel to it!

Such helpful staff, great all-around. Arigato 🙏🏾. Highly recommend this place if you need to rest during the Shikuko pilgrimage.
Good basic business hotel with a beautiful lobby, in a great location. Rooms come with breakfast and there is onsite parking available.
Cozy nice room. Small but equipped. Comfy bed. Simple but tasty breakfast.
Nice staff and clean common room. Limited choices for breakfast (bread, coffee, yoghurt, bananas, juice, water). Rooms are very small and seem a little old. Air-conditioning unit smells extremely bad (moldy/fishy). Cleaning seems superficial (everything visible clean, but corners/nooks are dusty).
The rooms size and conditions were pretty good for what you are paying for. Note that everything is smaller than if you were in America, but it was clean and comfortable.
This is a newer budget hotel in downtown Kochi, and it's about a 15-minute walk from the castle and Hirome Ichiba, and the Sunday Market. It's clean and new, and features a complementary breakfast of baked goods and coffee in the mornings. It seems to be people with younger people in town to attend a wedding.

Nice hotel, very close to station, quiet. Rooms a bit small but typical of Japan.
OK hotel but couldn't get comfortable in bed. Maybe just me.
Excellent location, clean modern, rooms, very friendly, helpful staff and a great breakfast for ¥800.
The hotel is really convenient and the rooms are basic. Nice place without any good or bad points.
A clerks greetings are very good and comfortable. Especially, employee who serve all u can eat breakfast had and made wonderful greetings , so I was moved by her smile.
Provided dishes are also excellent.
The room I stayed was for single, so it was rather smaller than as much space as other same capacity hotels.
however, this is cozy place to stay 2 to 3 days.
Hotel member is kind to introduce parking space and room check-in. Location is good. But seems hotel is a little bit old so there is some strange smell in the room.

The front-line staff are really friendly , the room is really clean, and the best thing is that the staff can speak English well!
The bathroom, toilet, and sink are all separate. To be honest, it's quite odd...
Maybe I'm just used to traditional hotels, so I'm not accustomed to places like this that seem to be renovated apartments or residences.
The main thing is the sink being right next to the TV and desk; it's just really strange...
the hotel was amazing for a 3star hotel, very good service from the reception, offered free drinks, free umami soup & allowed to keep our luggage until evening the next day (5/5)
room was good for the price ($72 sgd), but the interior might look a little old, & slightly dirty but was reasonable
location was ok, close to the shopping street but a little far from the station/subway for heavy luggages...
Rare to have such a spacious bathroom in business hotel. A lot of restaurants nearby opened till late. Lots of Christmas decor near hotel
Excellent location, super close to the main shopping street and plenty of dining options. It's also very convenient to Kencho-mae and Kawaramachi stations. The location is super convenient, just an 8-minute walk from both the bus and train stations.
The hotel's location is excellent. The airport bus drops you off right there, it's a ten-minute walk to the port, and taking the bus to Ritsurin Garden is very convenient. The room is compact with a well-arranged layout, offering good value for money. Breakfast is simple but filling, and the seasonal udon is a nice bonus.
The hotel's location is great for shopping and dining. Right across the street, there's a Sanuki Noodle shop with delicious and affordable udon. The duty-free drugstore next door is cheaper than others and even has Chinese-speaking staff. The lobby offers free self-service coffee. However, the room design is impractical; the door opens directly to the bathroom, and there's no space to put luggage.
The location is superb! Right where the airport bus drops you off, about a 7-8 minute walk to the port, and not far from Takamatsu Station. There's also a shopping street nearby, making dining very convenient. The cleanliness and service are good, and the breakfast is also excellent 👍. This chain offers great value for money.
You can't ask for more from a budget hotel! The location is super convenient, close to Takamatsu JR Station, and the airport shuttle stops right downstairs. Shopping and dining are a breeze. The hotel is clean and tidy, and they offer free breakfast, tea bags, and facial cleanser.
Not as good as the place next door, this one's quite old, and the rooms are small. The free breakfast is a plus, and the location is excellent, very convenient, near the commercial street. There's a Lawson downstairs, and it's a short walk to the port. The airport bus stop is right outside.

Just 7 rooms and it should have 7 stars to describe this place. We enjoyed every minute in this magical place. The design is one of a kind. Thank you Tadao Ando and the entire team for creating this place.
This hotel is located on the top of a mountain and was designed by Tadao Ando. There are seven rooms in total, one per floor, including the new building and the main building. Because we arrived late today, the hotel left four staff members to serve us. They had been emailing us to inquire about the arrival time and whether we had food allergies. They were very caring and meticulous. We booked a semi...

Amazing stay in a beautiful hotel designed by Tadao Ando. Service, pool and breakfast were amazing. The room was really great but a tiny bit disappointed by the bathroom which was a bit weird and not so beautiful especially compared to the rest. Lunch was also so-so. We didn’t have dinner there but regretted the lack of simple options (only a very expensive one).

Nice location near JR Station. The room is kind old fashion, but clean. The staff are very nice and helpful.
Cleanish enough. Rooms were okay. Onsen baths cross the street for a fee (albeit reduced to 550¥). Easy access to everything Matsuyama city has to offer.... Buy a bit dated.
The hotel is located about a hundred meters from Matsuyama Station. The room was good size, looked recently renovated although the furniture was old and somewhat worn out. The room supplies are provided at the front desk and are available 24 hours. The room key must be used to turn the light by inserting it into a separate keyhole located on the wall panel.
Advantages: Located next to the JR station and the Matsuyama tram loop line, the transportation is very convenient. There are several restaurants downstairs next to it. Among them, the Japanese restaurant Tomiya, which is closest to the hotel, is recommended. It serves affordable home-cooked dishes. The owner is a kind old lady. Except that the food is a little slow, everything else is good.
Disadvantages...

It is decent, but you might be disappointed if you go expecting a traditional ryokan. Perhaps because I stayed at Kiyomi Sanso the day before, I noticed some shortcomings, but it is still a sufficiently satisfactory place to stay. It is a shame that I couldn't have a meal there because it is so popular.
The staff were attentive and friendly, paying meticulous attention to every detail, from room service to breakfast arrangements. The hotel lounge offered complimentary drinks and snacks in a comfortable environment. Our group of four enjoyed chatting there every morning and evening during our stay; it was very pleasant.
Amazing artistic surroundings, the public spaces are decorated beautifully, it was lovely to spend time enjoying them. The massage was superb too as well as the daily Japanese breakfasts.
