The staff is nice, but there is not much parking space in the hotel.

The hotel facilities are okay, but overall it's quite old. The main problem is that the rooms have absolutely no air conditioning; they only provide fans. Don't stay there! The windows can't be opened.

The hotel is conveniently located near the JR station. It was surprisingly modern and tasteful, and the rooms were more spacious than those at similarly priced chain hotels. Despite the hotel opening in 1949 and its last major renovation being in 1988, the lobby and bathrooms clearly appear to have been recently updated and were spotless. The in-room facilities, however, definitely show their age. The air conditioning is controlled from the bedside table, with the temperature displayed in Fahrenheit. Nevertheless, the room was very clean overall.

It's an old building, but it was well kept and well maintained. I went to the public bath in the morning and it was clean. It was difficult at first to learn how to lock the door, but I understood it the second time. The staff's response was very good.

The hotel room was more spacious than average. Even when the air conditioning broke, the front desk immediately brought a fan, which was very thoughtful of the staff! Parking was also very convenient, and the staff gave clear instructions. Pretty good overall.

It's too far to walk from Tokushima Station, but it takes 10 minutes by bus. However, the bus doesn't run until after 9 o'clock, so it's a bit difficult to stay out late at night. Good location near the Dogo Onsen Main Building and the onsen streets. The room is very basic and quite small. There was only one pillow provided and there were no extra blankets. There are three onsens in total; one indoor and two outdoor ones. The best part of my stay was the dinner which was sumptuous. It costs 10000 yen per head and has to be ordered in advance of check in.

Had an amazing stay at Yamatoya Honten. The onsen was beautiful and really relaxing. One of the highlights was the all-you-can-drink bar right outside the onsen, such a unique touch that I haven’t seen anywhere else! The staff were fantastic, super friendly, and always happy to help.
