Everything would be great if it weren't for the INTERNET!!!!! They have 2 barely working/not working Wi-Fi... And the mobile Internet reception is very bad in the building. If you are staying for a couple of days or don't work online, this probably won't be a problem for you. But I came for a couple of weeks and worked online. Every call dropped... I had to reconnect for half an hour... Go outside...
I like it very much. The location of this place is very good. Public transportation is just outside. It is very convenient to go to several core attractions. You can go to the National Museum and the Peak Cable Car Station on foot. There is a shopping mall diagonally opposite to the left. It has similar functions to Wanda. You can withdraw money for meals. Inside There is Xiaomi Honor Haier Tebu.....

Highly recommended.
Pro:
Location:
- Central location near the botanical garden, southern end of the inner city
- not directly at the road
- several bus stops nearby
- lots of small stores nearby
Apartment:
- cozy but fully equipped
- one big room, separate bathroom, kitchen with good quality cutlery
- A/C
- Wifi (somewhat slow at times)
- very clean, cleaning is also done with high quality during...
Evergreen Apart is really one of the best choices to stay when attending an event in Atakent Expo. Rooms are clean and everyone in the receiption are very friendly, l they know how to speak in English very well. The apartment is near Atakent Mall, restaurants like Mcdonald’s and cafe like Starbucks.
1) It has everything you need especially if you are staying
for more than 2 days. Washing machine, plates, etc. are
present.
2) The staff were friendly and available 24/7.
3) They have an option to stay earlier at a very reasonable
rate.
4) You can use their lounge to keep your luggage or just
stay there while waiting for your flight.
5) Close to public transportation.
What a good hostel. Check-in can be done even after midnight, staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are so comfortable and clean and the beds have curtains. They have spacious rooms with only 4 beds which I prefer. Bathrooms are VERY CLEAN for hostel standards.
I extended my stay for multiple days given how good it is.
Moved from another hostel D*. Am glad that I made the decision. The roommates are respectful of your area. The shower rooms and toilets are super clean - they have someone to clean the hostel daily. The bed is super comfortable and you have your own charging point, lamp, and a curtain for privacy. The locker is big to fit a backpack, and comes with a digital lock. Love the atmosphere there, especially...

In my opinion Soul Hostel Westpoint is the most comfortable hostel for distance learning.
The staff at this hostel is really good, friendly and always wants to help you, and the hostel itself is also a good one. But, a few not-so-good things though were that the showers often were cold, the wifi didn't work for most of our stay and the beds I got (switched rooms) were incredibly uncomfortable. Kitchen could also need a bit more stuff, like new frying pans/casseroles/knives etc.
Unique and incredible hostel - the care and love the welcoming hosts put into it is instantly evident - a home away from home.
Really great hostel! Location is good (metro station is near and also supermarket is just across the street). It's new and very clean, but the best part is awesome and very helpful staff!
In kazachstan perfect hostel , perfect people , market opposit door, somewhere here is pool and sauna , hostel is clean and is full of colours :)
I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find out that the hostel is brand new. All the basics are great ( super clean, quiet, new furniture, english speaking , fast replying etc.. ) literally most of the things were on point. But what clicked with me the most is that just nearby the hostel you have everything you need, starting with a super market to a non-stop restaurant ( super good food plus a discount...

What a lovely lady Lianna is. We arrived at late night at her place and there was a last minute requirement from our side which very well she managed and supported us throughout.
Will surely recommend stay at Hostel Viator.
Lianna is a legend. Amazing place to stay. Very quiet. Super clean. Very well equipped. Lianna is very very helpful and kind and genuinely full of sweet hospitality. The location was fantastic ..a short walk to the main street. The kitchen is totally equipped. Would recommend to everyone
Very comfortable bedrooms and clean bathrooms. The host is very welcoming and gave great recommendations for restaurants in the neighbourhood. The location is a bit less central but still walkable from the city center, so we didn’t mind.
We stayed four days in this amazing hostel and we had an amazing stay.
Why we like it so much:
1) rooms are big, comfortable and super clean
2) toilets were clean
3) location
4) It has a kitchen fully equipped to cook
4) and the most important one, we were amazed by the owner’s hospitality. She was trying to find all the possible ways to help us. She was very patient with us. She gave us watermelon...
Ideal homestay in Almaty. If you are looking for price/quality, Hostel Viator is an excellent choice. Very friendly hostess. We slept in a private room with two beds. Beds are great. If you want, she makes breakfast for you. There is also the possibility to wash your clothes. Wifi is great. Fantastic location overlooking Almaty. Lots of space, horses and fun things for kids
Nice place, nice people and a lot of knowledge. It's a good place to meet horses and pleasures.
Very unique and enjoyable experience for me sonce I hadn’t had chance to see horses this close in my life. It would have been better if I could understand Russian or there’s a translation service. It’s a shame that I couldn’t able to having a full time tour because of my limited time. I heard you are given a chance to ride a horse!
I recommend it for family who have young kids.
Truly breathtaking. I fell in love with all of the horses and all of the other animals! Thank you!👌🏻
Very comfortable place for relax. Trainings with horses.

This Hostel is next to a skate park and you have to ring the doorbell to enter the Hostel. The owners were friendly, though they only spoke a little English. The Check-In went smooth and I entered into a small, but cozy room. The WiFi was stable and good. There was only one bathroom, so you have to manage your time, but I didn't had a problem with that. The bath room was clean and the shower was suprisingly...
Excellent place for 3 days trips
Warm reception by owners
Grocery store and bus stop available very near by
They used translators to explain all details
Scenic view of mountains from the hostel is great too
Bang for the buck! We extended our stay here for additional two days as the hostel is extremely comfortable, especially for the price. Private room was extremely spacious, washroom clean, steady supply of hot water, and the heating was effective.
The building is nicely renovated and converted to the guest rooms. We booked the doubled bed one with an ensuited bathroom. The room was clean and cozy with a nice view to the mountains. The location is great. It's at a convenient distance to the restaurants, local indoor market and the river trails. Last but not least, The owners are super respectful and helpful.
My stay at Esentai Hostel in Almaty was absolutely fantastic! Nestled along the riverbanks, the atmosphere was serene and inviting. The hostel provided all the amenities I needed, including heaters, clean washrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and a cozy dining area. The convenience of onsite car parking was a definite plus. But what truly made my experience memorable was the warm hospitality of the owner...

Positive: I liked that this place is in a residential block, not far from shops and Russian consulate. Everything is kept clean and kitchen is ok. Staff will help with anything you need. I stayed for 2 weeks to get my Russian transit visa and do some maintenance on my motorcycle. This place is good if you just need a decent place to stay.
Negative: I was in a private room with its own WiFi router...
Positive: good rate for a private room, clean, nice host, good bed, 24hrs supermarket around the corner.
Negative: location, initially it was hard to find. Kinda in a darkish location and neighbourhood. This was also felt in the hostel. Not really vibrant. I was there for only 1 night so possibly it can be different but for me as a solo traveller the hostel didnt appeal to me. No AC, only fan.
10/10 experience! they made a mistake with the booking and just gave us a better room for the same price without any hesitation. Clear recommendation!
Hostel Loco in Almaty is a hidden gem. It's known for its serene ambiance, cleanliness, and warm hospitality. The location couldn't be better; it's conveniently situated. I highly recommend it for a peaceful and pleasant stay.
Clean beds, friendly woman as manager. I recommend this place.
I stayed here for a week and I loved the place. It has everything what you need and is good distance from metro or city centre. Xenia is a superhelpful person so you will be in good hands. Guests are a nice mix of Kazakhs/Russians and foreigners.

A small basic hostel nestled in a residential block close to amenities. The bus from the airport stops close to the hostel. When I arrived at the property at around 9pm, there was no staff in the reception for checking me in. A resident who can speak English helped me and contacted the staff. Also during check out, there was no one in the reception and I just left the keys behind and left. The kitchen...
very cosy and friendly hostel. close to metro, ATMs, shops, cafes & restaurants and everything you may need. administrator is so professional. always clean, silent. suggested place to stay!
This hostel is great! The kitchen is artfully decorated and large. The shower/bathrooms are clean, no water pile up, modern. The capsules are wide and cozy (but the lights next to bed don’t work, my only complaint). But the people working here take the cake!!! The receptionist went above and beyond to make sure we found our next ride/destination. And kept in contact with our driver to check up if/when...
The place is a very nice, even though it has nothing too special in comparison with other hostels nearby. The location is pretty good, not far from a bus stop and central Abai Street. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The prices are fair - 2,500 KZT per night. The kitchen is nice, it has a fridge, microwave and untensils. One possible improvement is to have a couple of desk where one can work...
One of my favorite hostels on my around the world trip. Fun people, staff and good accommodations.

good, but the owner or some staff aren't really friendly, sometime demanding and a bit racist if you were asians skin. but one staff were kind and attentive. it is probably one of the best for hostel since Almaty has lacked of hostel equipment compare to international standard. no English speaking staff. you can cook .
Hostel 211A offers good sized rooms and a comfortable bed. I liked having a single bed. OK storage space. Staff are friendly but not sure how much English they speak. Bathroom clean but might not be enough if room is full. Towels, etc are for rent. It was quiet. Good kitchen with all the amenities and a big fridge and social space both inside and outside. Hostel is on metro and on bus lines but...

The proximity to the main road is the only thing that is good about this place.
The staff gave very mixed vibes
They were friendly and accommodating when we stayed first 2 days, the next 2 days, they behaved weird- as in they were playing with the AC switches, took away our fans and asked out of the blue to pay parking fees. The first time round they were helpful, giving us places to go, cars to rent...
Excellent stay in Almaty! I was surprised by how modern the hostel was and how nice the rooms were. The owner is very friendly and speaks great English. He was very helpful and can answer any questions about Almaty if you are looking for things to do. For a short stay, I really enjoyed the rooms and thought this was a great value!
I stayed at the hostel for a few nights while visiting Almaty. The location is excellent—right in the city center, with a nice café across the street and Dostyk Plaza just a short walk away.
The only issue was that the room could get quite hot and stuffy, as there was no ventilation or windows. Other than that, everything was great!

Very best and comfartble. It's a located In the centre of the city... Not expensive an very comfortable. All site visiting place are very near..... I am very satisfied . Very good administration...Dash boy Is very good . In low price the found the best and nice . It's like a home atmosphere in a another country. I want to visit again
Arrived late at night but was picked up by Daj the admin, very friendly and sociable guy. Check in was smooth and the bed was good. The only problem was the bathroom facilities - were quite dirty. Otherwise, the hostel is in apartment and there is a homie atmosphere in it.
A basic hostel, clean and good beds. Prices seem quite average. The place is cramped though and amount of toilets is too limited.

Everyone was kind and accepted me as a member of the group. I was able to live without any inconveniences. The rooms are separated for boys and girls, so I feel safe. It was a hostel that made me miss Kazakhstan. If I go to Almaty again, I will definitely stay at the same place.
The metal bunk bed had no safety rail, which felt quite dangerous, especially as the room was on the 3rd floor.
I have stayed at various hostels in East Asia and some parts of Southeast Asian countries, and I have to say that this hostel has the worst impression at how unprofessional it is. Yes, staff is friendly and people are generally helpful, but that is a low bar in Asian countries. I was glad that I was allowed early check-in, and amenities were fully provided at the kitchen, value for money and location...
it is located close to main sightseeing places and you can walk to them. it is on the second floor, North American ways, and then you need carry up your heavy bag at the outside stairs because there are no elevator. they pass you washed bed sheets and a towel. I didn't see any cleaning women. maybe the young guy at the reception only keep the hostel tidy, which doesn't seem enough.
This hostel has a great location just a 15-minute walk to the main attractions, making it super convenient for sightseeing. The rooms are basic but clean, and the staff is friendly. A solid budget choice if you prioritize easy access over luxury. Perfect for travelers who want to explore without spending much 👍
I stayed for 3 days.

A lovely welcoming hostel. Slippers are provided. Beds are very comfortable so you get a good nights rest. Lots of hot water available and a kitchen available to make the essentials. The lounge area has a PS5 too. It’s close to a shopping mall with lots of outlets and a food court. And not too far a walk from the sights.

Pros: Nice staff, great location.
Cons: Small and dirty kitchen, only one shower works, iron cannot be used, residents drink beer and make noise at night
Hello!
I stayed in this hostel for 11 days. And all these days were spent in a very good atmosphere. The staff is space: decent, responsive, cultured, and most importantly, they treat visitors with respect. (I don’t want to single out anyone. Everyone is great!) So, if someone is thinking about where to stay, then don’t waste time choosing a hostel, this is the place for you!) All the best!
Just a wonderful hostel! Clean, comfortable, very friendly staff, in particular, the administrator Elina, met, showed everything, explained. The capsule is very comfortable, two sockets, a lamp, you are there like in childhood, in a house))) Highly recommend!!!
Cheap accommodation but the place is not clean
Cheap and angry, very small rooms, window only in the bedroom. It is cold at night, always stuffy. There is air conditioning, but does not turn on for some reason. We drove in twice, with a break of two nights, either the old underwear was laid, or it wasn’t changed at all. The rest is ok. Each restroom room has a full set of plumbing fixtures)) there is a kitchen with a stove, paper slippers are provided

The room was basic, without curtains, offering little privacy. The sheets and duvet covers were old, and the service was poor.
Honestly, I didn't encounter any bad experiences staying in this hostel. I ended up staying here twice due to affordable price and its location that's close to Pavilon Park (less than a mile walk). One thing that pissed me off was that the receptionist who barely speaks English; we'd always use Google Translate which sometimes didn't help at all. I had a wonderful 3-night stay at Alma-Ata Hostel! The place is clean, cozy, and has such a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, and I especially want to mention Gulzari—she’s always smiling, friendly, and ready to assist with anything. She truly made my stay feel like home. The location is perfect—close to shops, restaurants, and public transport. And the best part?...
