Where to stay in Almaty

It was not bad, very friendly at the reception. Just I didn't like that they were not cleaning the room every day. And I didn't like the smell of towels . Can't explain, very bad smell. I think they should renew the towels. And ac was not working. I stayed there 1 week. That was my experience. Reception ladies are very friendly

The hotel is very convenient both in terms of location and living conditions. The area is beautiful, any transport is within walking distance. The air is clean, a residential area. While in the hotel you cannot hear the sound of transport. Very cozy rooms, clean and most importantly friendly, hospitable staff. Thank you, I really liked it.

I don't really write reviews, but I wish it was only for one night.. Good value, location, and friendly front desk staff. However...the soundproofing is so bad that the noise from the next room that started at 10pm was really...(** *** ***** or something like that, bed **** sound...** screaming..) Even with earphones on, the noise was so loud that the walls shook, so I ended up going out on a snowy...

At least it's relatively clean. It must have been a big hotel before, but then it became lonely.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights to catch a tour bus that arrived in front of the hotel at 4:30 AM. I informed the front desk the day before that I'd be up early, and they gave me a sandwich the next day, which I was very grateful for. I had breakfast on the second day, and it was delicious. One of the highest ice skating natural ring covered with snow all around.

The place is closed for construction for more than a year. So ice skating is closed. You can ice skating upstairs after the cable ride.

Ice Rink and the place is really nice. The view is amazing because it’s surrounded by mountains, and the air feels super fresh. The rink is huge and the atmosphere is fun, even if you’re not a pro at skating.

Absolutely stunning views! Walked up the stairs (854 steps, elevation gain 210 m). It was hard work but worth it.

Medeu is a must-visit spot in Almaty, especially during winter. Set in a beautiful mountain valley, it’s one of the highest ice rinks in the world. I had been here during the early fall of 2016. I am here in January visiting friends decided ice skating was in order since it was a clear sky day with a couple thousand other Almaty residents in on having some fun

Pros: Location Cons: Only one toilet for all, booking.com mentioned breakfast included but no one prepared it until I asked the front desk guy, he told me theres no one to cook the breakfast then lastly an old women long term stayer in the same female dorm lend him a hand. Someone opened window widely and watching video/ listening to video loudly during sleeping time. * I booked a bed in Sun hostel...

Except for its location. Avoid at all costs if you don’t want to get depression. Everything is bad. I stayed at many hostels on a budget but this is by far the worst.

I booked 3 nights at Star and ended up staying there for over a month. The hostel people are nice and caring. Facilities are new. They have a kitchen where you can cook your own food, laundry service is cheap too. Great location. Feels like home.

The first time I checked in, the front desk accidentally gave me two keys. Both rooms I entered had a strong smell of food and garlic. I thought it was just someone nearby cooking and the smell hadn't dissipated yet. I was really tired, so I just lay down. The more I rested, the more I realized something was off. The hotel is surprisingly (for Kazakhstan) excellent. Everything is clean, the ceilings are high, and it's warm. There are many minor issues. Some minor gripes: the water takes a long time to get hot water, and the Wi-Fi password in the left wing isn't listed. It's only available at reception. The soundproofing is poor. All the shops are closed at night. We had to hunt for food 1.5 kilometers away...

When I checked in, I was told "There is no reservation." I had printed out the voucher, so I showed it and was able to check in. The walls were thin, and I could hear noise from the next room.

A decent hotel, close to the airport. The room was fresh, clean, and cozy. There are plenty of cafes nearby. We liked the Badam cafe (a 10-minute walk from the hotel); the shashlik was delicious (we recommend trying the duck shashlik), and the prices were half those in the city center. It took us about 20 minutes to get to the airport by taxi in the evening.

Good hotel for one or two nights. We were flying by. It was clean and tidy. The rooms are not big at all. The location is very cool, there are cafes and markers around. In the morning we went to the tram stop, and after 10-15 minutes we were already in the mountains and enjoying nature. Price-quality standards.

Super clean and has whatever we need.

Basically owner hates tourist and love tourist money. Gives you that face. Internet is very slow. Room is good and clean, toilet is extremely small. Location is far from city centre. Quiet but curtains are transparent, will get bright after 6am.

Normally here is good but internet is bad . Breakfast is not good not bad. Bed's is old. Another staff is nice. Otel manager is like nice .

The hotel is located at the heart of the city and just 30km away from the Airport. The washroom was clean but the bedsheet did not look clean. Also, the Sofa at the reception was old and dirty. They accept creditcard.

Apart from the location it didn't have anything good. You could hear the sound from all other rooms. Rooms are too small .

Room is large size. Bed quality is just okay. Also bed is not large size but fine for two people. Matter is very thin Room wall made by using wooden so other rooms sound can been listened. Staff is nice and kind they helpful. Window is large and have sun light. Air conditioning is working perfect. Also have heater. Bathroom is just basic. Have hot and cold water. TV is also working fine. WiFi internet...

We lived for 5 days, I liked everything, Wi-Fi is free, breakfast is included in the price. I would especially like to note the work of all the girls, well done, very polite and friendly. Let's go and stop there soon.

Friends came and they liked it. The location is far from the center, but for those whose work is related to the industrial zone of our city, it is very convenient. Quiet, cozy. Polite staff.

This hotel isn't close to the center of Almaty, but it is a really nice place to stay at a decent price. It's the most comfortable place I stayed in the city, with air conditioning and an actual double bed with a soft mattress. If you're looking for comfort and don't mind taking a trip to get to the city, I recommend this place.

The rooms are large, and the hotel is located in a relatively remote area on a mountain.

Great hotel! Delicious English breakfast! The only thing was that there was no TV in the room, but it didn't disappoint!

The room was renovated but smelled 🚬. It wasn't really clean, there was hair under the sheets and in the bathtub. They gave us clean white sheets (though there were some ingrained stains, as you know how they show on white). We paid 12,000 rubles for this 3-bed room 🌙. The handwashing sink is very small, and you can't fill a 2-liter bottle of water for the trip.

Nice place. Kind staff. Wifi not so strong (at least on 3rd floor). Hot water, sauna, clean toilets and sheets, towels. Food is ok, not the best (steak at least was dry). Close to sky.
