A Hidden Gem in Tulum – Pure Relaxation
Alea Tulum is an absolute dream. From the moment you arrive, the peaceful atmosphere and stunning beachfront set the tone for a perfect stay
The pool and beach areas are serene and never overcrowded, offering the perfect balance of luxury and tranquility
The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully styled with natural details that blend perfectly with the surroundings. Waking up to ocean views and the sound of the waves was unforgettable
The hotel is beautifully designed — boutique, intimate, and surrounded by nature — making it ideal for anyone looking to unwind and disconnect
The staff truly makes this place special — kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything you need
Whether you’re enjoying breakfast with an ocean view, relaxing by the infinity pool, or watching the sunrise over the water, every moment at Alea feels peaceful and restorative
The food is amazing (the tacos are a must-try), and the rooftop bar is perfect for sunsets. I loved the daily yoga and the chill but vibrant vibe. The staff were super friendly and made the stay even better
The staff are great, top of the line service. Great amenities,Great food and everything is very. Will stay there again in my next tulum vacation
Last year there was yoga, Ice Bath included and this year we paid! I went back for the experience
My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at hotel panamera! The pool was stunning and the beach was beautiful! The food and service was superb! Especially loved my service with David, was was amazing! Highly recommend hotel panamera for your tulum trip if you are looking for a hotel in the hotel zone!
Hotel was clean with friendly staff everyone had a smile on their face and willing to provide the best service. Great food and great Beach with a nice atmosphere will be back and recommend to others!
Exactly what we were looking for. Lovely boutique hotel with a fantastic beach and excellent staff. Small, quiet, low key. Walkable to shops, spas and restaurants. Could not have been better.

The room is big and comfortable. The included breakfast was super delicious. The room has “garden view” when I booked it. But you could see the beach and ocean from the room. The hotel also provides the kayak and paddle
The beach where the hotel is located was not so beautiful, and you have to take a pretty bad unpaved road to get to the hotel
Top notch service
Picturesque hotel I booked it for my photoshoot. Location is in a more remote part of Tulum not the most accessible but on the upside food was more reasonabley priced than other hotels
Amazing experience friendly staff beautiful view breakfast was ok but pool was astonishing. Fre Kayak and snorkeling equipment are big added values. Enjoy your travel to this beautiful place
Oceanfront with piers accessible to guests. Beautiful, clean swimming pool with hanging chairs and waterfall. Restaurant on-site with delicious food. I highly recommend the massage
The staff were friendly and helpful! I would definitely stay here again. It only started working on our last night there but the rest of the time it was very muggy on our room
The beach views from my suite was amazing! The entire staff was lovely and very attentive. I loved the music selection at the beach club, too. This is a very well run hotel and Im grateful for their hospitality
We stayed down the beach and walked to Chiringuito for a late lunch. We had a table in the sand overlooking the beach. The food was outstanding and the most amazing part was the service
Peaceful and serene, small luxury hotel great to retreat and recharge individually or for couples, also family friendly no “party vibe” Located at the south end of the hotel zone surrounded by spas, restaurants, shops, etc
Beautiful bathroom connected to dressing area with spacious shelving and room to hang up clothes. This room was absolutely perfect. There’s nothing I would change. The grounds are gorgeous, and the staff is friendly
I can't remember the last time I had service like this. We ordered food and a bottle of tequila and our waiter Gregorio was incredibly attentive. He would do the most subtle things that made the biggest difference
If your ice was melting, he would switch it out. He served the paella with the most care. Everything was perfect, not over the top and we'll definitely be coming back. He made our afternoon incredibly special
We stayed for a week and had a marvellous time. Encantada is small, eco friendly and luxurious. The beach is beautiful and the staff are kind and make one feel very at home
Another wonderful February visit to Encantada, one of my favorite places in the world. The staff are amazing and the beach beautiful
At Encantada, we picked a second story room facing the beach (Cielo) - which we loved - spacious, well appointed, with a view of sunrise over the Caribbean each morning from our bed and chairs and a hammock for lounging with a beach view - probably a better room than we had at Xela last year
Love what the local businesses are doing with building up the ‘Sotu’ neighborhood…hopefully these efforts will continue and make progress with sidewalks, etc
They will arrange outings if one wants but we enjoyed lying on the beach beds, reading and sipping margaritas! The upper ocean view room is wonderful. It gets windy but the view is spectacular
We went with our two daughters' families, in all a group of 8, and occupied 3 rooms. My husband's and my beach front room was the best, especially for the view, but all were first class
I would highly suggest staying here if you are looking for relaxation and escape. My only suggestions would be to add a kettle with some coffee in the rooms as the coffee bar is quite expensive
All of the staff are extremely helpful and kind. And of course, the piece de resistance is it's own cenote in the heart of the property
While not along the beach, the beach is extremely close and we did not feel it lacked at all
My family and I travel to Mexico every Christmas, and we ALL agree that this was by far our favorite hotel / resort to date. At every moment, you feel completely swallowed by lush green plants
Kan Tulum is an absolutely beautiful property. It felt like an oasis every time we arrived back at the property. The staff were all very kind and helpful with anything that we needed
It’s private, and the staff are phenomenal. I went to them with several questions, and always got good answers. I talked to one of the owners, and complimented him on the staff
From tours of the local cenotes and ancient ruins, to in house ceremonies including cocoa singing bowls ceremony and tezmecal, it is all excellent! The variety and optional experiences make it a great way for individuals in the group to cater to their own needs and interests
This was my second year organising a retreat at Amansala, and it was even more wonderful than the first year!
The facilities are amazing, from the ocean view yoga studio, to the open air restaurant, to the clean and comfortable rooms
Right on the beach, beautiful water, a long strip to walk down that is not over built so you can fully embrace the nature!
Their extra services and guided tours are diverse and excellent
Perfect property for our Yoga and Wellness Retreat. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. Max, Enrique and Sergio made our stay so memorable and were perfect gentleman
The staff are truly outstanding. From A to Z they make retreat organising effortless, the guests feel welcome and accommodated, and they are ready with a smile
Darlene, Melissa and Yolanda were angels and left a lasting impression on my heart. The staff was beyond helpful and offered genuine, exceptional service
You can visit the ruins nearby, or walk the beach daily with very little attention/ disturbances from people selling things
My first trip to Mexico was an incredible experience, and staying here made it even more special. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect
The rooms are clean, large and comfortable, with no TVs, so you can truly unplug and relax. I love the hammocks on the lanais of the beachside bungalows
This place is great! Beautiful beach, and amazing daily sunrise yoga with Brenda. I also stayed here in December 2025 and couldn’t wait to return
WiFi is spotty away from the beach/ restaurants, so download your necessities. Everything is very conveniently located
It’s rare to meet people who make such a positive impact on your vacation, but Juan and Jorge absolutely did. They made our stay unforgettable. This was my first time in Mexico, but it definitely won’t be my last
We had lunch by the beach everyday, It was delicious with plenty of options. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality. Highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to come back!
Loved the hotel and our room design and view, beautiful beach with white sand. No seaweed excellent service, food and drink quality. Friendly and super nice staff
Tulum - the chilled out option
Had an amazing week at Delek, the hotel, staff and overall experience was just what we needed. Right on the beach with a much needed pool to lounge in when the sun got too much
We were offered a free room upgrade which was so fabulous however both rooms were equally beautiful and spotless and had the true Tulum feel. The restaurant/beach staff couldn’t have been nicer
Our room was spotless, cozy, and had a partial ocean view. Beach club seating is guaranteed for guests (huge win)
I did hours of research wanting something chill, safe, beachfront, and actually giving jungle vibes
We have stayed at this resort several times, and we continue to love it. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the location — toward the South end of the hotel zone —offers a quieter, more relaxing beach experience
Pools were in good shape and beach chairs and umbrellas were plentiful. Easy walk to the R1/R2 bus stop which brings you everywhere for
I would come back to this property, next time I’m in Cancun, and atayed in a lagoon view balcony room. The room amenities were nice (full kitchenette, 2 bottles of water + coffee + tea, stackable laundry in room, etc
The food options were very limited and complicated. They need to have basic meal options and pump up the quality of the items. We had to travel to IHOP to eat a decent breakfast. Food was dry and sitting too long
They would close 2 pools in the evening and all guest had no option than to all be in one pool , but they advertise 3 pools. The jacuzzi temperature was more like a warm bath that a hot jacuzzi
We also felt that the staff was even more friendly and customer‑oriented this time. A very special thank‑you to Héctor Najera, who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional
Breakfast was included in our reservation and it was quite a spread! The beach is the nicest section of the entire ***** of beach
The pool water was too cold, but the hot tub warmed up enough to enjoy by day 3, but it was mainly a kiddie pool. The bus stop is outside of the hotel and for $1 it will take you anywhere
Everyone we encountered at the hotel were especially kind. As always when out of the country, the money exchange is always confusing. It was considered a club suite
We had two full bathrooms, a full kitchen just minus an oven, a living room with sofa bed and kitchen table. King size bed with great pillows and a balcony with a jacuzzi which was very nice
People were very eager to help. Kind. Patient. Room was excellent. Facilities were excellent. 10 10 recommend
room good, staff great, amenties o.k. shuttle service v.g.
i counted 57 wheelbarrows of seaweed removed one morning from the beach. Th infestation is relentless and not the faut of the property management. We enjoyed the yoga and the multiple lounge spots
Fantastic property, location and staff! Rustic, glamping style hotel in a perfect location with its own private little cove/beach, a fantastic restaurant that serves both Mexican, and other, cuisine, and a great staff ready to accomodate…A place where you can truly relax in the perfect spot right on the beach, in rooms with thatched roofs and some with private outdoor bathrooms (shower under the stars...
It's worth coming just for the surroundings: nature, beautiful beaches, a clean, well-maintained facility, and beautiful views
The room was amazing and just steps from the water. Miguel and the crew at the restaurant took amazing care of us and prepared some of the best meals we had on our trip
This is a paradise on Earth. Rustic, eco cabanas by the sea, no noise, no fuzz, just the beauty of the jungle and ocean waves at your front door.
The property was incredible, the views were gorgeous and the staff were kind and accommodating. I couldn’t have had a better place to stay 🙏
The luxury cabana right on the beach was great, with its front porch with chairs, hammock, chairs, very comfortable bed, small refrigerator, 5-gallon dispenser of purified water, steps away from the terrace restaurant/bar with excellent food from breakfast to dinner
My wife and I stayed for the weekend during our time at Na’atik Language and Culture Institute in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The staff at the hotel was friendly and welcoming
We recently stayed in this beautiful rustic hotel in a bungalow on the beach just steps from the ocean. The staff are the absolute strength of this hotel with nothing too much trouble
Nice spot right on the beach. But the sea grass and the loud music (neither the fault of the hotel) made our tropical beach vacation a bit of a disappointment.
Good position for shops, beach, ATM etc. Very nice bungalow on the beach (especially after free upgrade), excellent service staff. This hotel was a real 'find' and very good value for money
Lovely stay at a beautiful beach and the Hotel Zamas for 4 days in early November. Everything was perfect and the staff was professional, friendly, and attentive to my every need
We had a very nice time at El Paraiso Hotel de Tulum. It was located on a beautiful beach – although be aware of the season, lots of seaweed. So I don’t know if it’s just in the summer or what, but there was a lot of it
After park hours, you can keep your wristband. There are some great restaurants down the beach and the restaurant at the beach club is good. Breakfast is very good and the service is excellent
The room was small but the cleaning was excellent with different ‘towel animals’ every day. There are free shuttles in the park to get to the ruins and museum. I would definitely recommend it
We loved the beach club and the beach itself is beautiful with nice clean fine white sand. There is a lot of seaweed at times in the water
Keep in mind the sargasm season when choosing a beach front resort. It was still lovely but i wasn't prepared. 😄
This is an amazing place to stay. Very nice beach and you can take the electric car to go to the ruins
Very cute hotel, close to everything. We stayed on the second floor in what looks like a newer building. They brought coffee to us every morning in a basket. The attached restaurant/beach side was soooooo good
The hotel’s location is beachfront, which is perfect for travelers. The room is well-ventilated. The only problem is the parking logistics.
Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating, hotel is very unique right on the beach, breakfast and juices are wonderful. Check in process needs improvement.
I truly felt like I was catered to and all of their amenities were fantastic. Their pictures did not do the reality justice. Fantastic food with both restaurants. We are already planning our return
The entrance in the hotel is the most strange entrance that I ever seen. They provide a QR code that suposed to unlock the door and an acces turnistle. This doesn’t work at all.
Pros - Beautiful property with rooms that look like treehouses, right on beautiful sandy beach with private area with sun loungers. Rooms were clean and spacious, good WiFi and free offsite parking
This little boutique hotel was like staying in a wellness focused luxury treehouse in the jungle. Lush greenery all around and from every window view. A gorgeous beach with excellent beachside loungers, towels, and a bar
Bravo! We stayed in Room 7 for 9 days...awesome property, awesome staff, and great location on Tulum Beach. Highly recommended!
We have been visiting Tulum Beach every year for the last 10...this was the best!
Amazing personalized service since there is only 20 rooms on the entire property. Communicate via WhatsApp for instant replies and quick action. Rooms were clean and beautiful. Breakfast can be improved.
Absolutely beautiful. Staff was great. Town is very expensive. No pool here, but the beach is amazing.
Just returned from a lovely visit to Tulum. We had a second floor beach front room with amazing views. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The food and service was excellent too
We enjoyed the morning yoga class as well. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful and slightly rustic refuge. Note: Rooms on the ground level are recommended for folks that have challenges with stairs
Maria Del Mar is a beautiful hotel located with it's own private beach. The beach is indeed beautiful with a couple of look out points. You also have exclusive access to sunbeds
Room service cleaned everyday and put new clean towels. We were also able to enjoy the music from Mateo's restaurant but no worry they shut it off by 10pm. We didn't eat breakfast there so can't give point on that
Went at the end of June and had a great time. The room was just as the pictures show beach is right off your step literally. We got to see sea turtles at midnight
Really nice hotel, a bit rustic as in the lizards can get right into your room and poop, but the hotel staff do try to keep it as clean as possible. Just steps away from the private beach
Minimalist, no frills except the amazing beach cove. The day staff was great very nice and respectful. The night security guard seemed a little off, not sure he was gay friendly.
We had the most incredible honeymoon at Maria Del Mar! Our concierge Santiago helped us to create an amazing itinerary and adapted for us as we made changes! They also recommended a wonderful taxi driver, Armando, who graciously took us to each excursion and offered expert advice to help us enjoy as much as possible :) Edgar, Enrique, and Sergio at the front desk were always ready to chat and help...
Staff very friendly. Resort is older but very nice grounds. Our room was renovated...very nice Beach.
While the property is old and a tad dated, it was clean and well maintained. The beach is fantastic with lots of loungers and nice sand
The staff was the highlight of the experience, everyone from roomkeepers, bartenders and even the security guards were friendly and very patient even with my very limited Spanish (most of the staff spoke better english than I do spanish) Guadalupe in particular made our time at the buffet so good
Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and though we were too early for check in they got one of our rooms ready for us immediately and gave us our wrist bands to enjoy the bar while we waited for the other
The hotel left a wonderful impression! Cozy rooms, cleanliness, and a convenient location—everything was top-notch. The warm and welcoming atmosphere made me feel right at home
The food was great! Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner had different options and there was always something one of the pickier eaters in our group found they really liked
A nice hotel with a good breakfast. Parking is limited, but there's a clean beach in front. A restaurant next door offers drinks on the beach. The rooms are very clean, and the prices are reasonable.
Unfortunately, the beach and water was covered in seaweed, so we did not get in the water (although some people did) but I laid in the sun on the beach and our patio. Staff was attentive and helpful
Nora and Jesus were wonderful. The area beautiful. Thank you
We went in the off season, so the beach had a lot of seaweed, but we had done our research so we expected this and we still enjoyed the beach area, the deck and beach chairs
The room was right on the beach with our own patio at the door with an outdoor lounging BED! I stayed in the coral room and would definitely stay there again
Staff was really nice, good location in front the beach.
Just a lack of privacy with the bathroom / toilets (no wall ahaha).
Plus the breakfast in included :)

Good water pressure and hot water. The check-in and check-out process was very simple and staff was kind. We felt safe due to it being sort of hidden and there were typically military/guards watching the beach outside
Amazing Location, right next to the beach. convenience store across the street., the staff are very friendly. Definitely recommend!
We were able to walk to mostly everything & the ferry pier was right outside. Easy access to one of the best beaches. Our room was clean and AC worked very well. The shower drained slow but that was our only issue
The location of the property is damn good just across the playa caracol beach and isla mujeros ferry point
Great overnight stay after a week in Isla Mujeres. Ferry stops right out front.
