Reviews
The room itself was a good size, clean, and came with an actual baby cot (not a travel cot), plus a baby bath and kettle were provided, which made things much easier. The balcony, however, was tiny – fine for drying clothes, but not really suitable to sit out on.
The location is great – within a 5-minute walk you’ll find three supermarkets and a pharmacy, which was really convenient. It’s about a 35-minute coastal walk through a tunnel to Budva Old Town (not loads to do there, but still nice to visit), and a 10-minute bus ride (€4.50 return) gets you to Sveti Stefan, which has a couple of lovely bars and great photo spots.
We booked all-inclusive, but it wasn’t always clear what was included and what came at an extra charge. The food was fine overall – breakfast and dinner had plenty of choice, though lunch was more limited and seemed to get smaller each day as the hotel wound down for the season (it closed on November 1st). Dinner starting at 7pm was a bit late for our little one, which made evenings tricky.
One disappointment was that the pool bar didn’t open at all during our stay, which was a shame as it would have been nice to sit outside with a drink in the afternoons. This might have been due to the hotel closing for the season, but it did make the outdoor areas feel a bit lifeless.
Another big downside was the room temperature. The hotel switches to heating mode in October, so the air conditioning can’t be used for cooling. Our room got up to 27°C at night, which wasn’t ideal with a baby – the only option was to leave the balcony door open.
The staff in the restaurant were mostly quite miserable and didn’t seem very welcoming, but Dejan really stood out – he was kind, always smiling, and went out of his way to make our little boy laugh at every meal. A real credit to the team.
Facilities-wise, the gym was out of order for the entire stay with no sign of being fixed, and the kids’ club room was technically open but unmanned – staff sat on their phones and no activities were running despite it being advertised.
Overall, we had a decent stay and the hotel is in a convenient location with comfortable rooms, but a few details – especially around the air-con, meal times, and service – let it down slightly.
Good breakfast. Made to order hot omelettes was amazing. No ketchup or sauces that i could find. Butter very difficult to find, when it should be placed right next to the breads. All in all, it’s a lovely hotel and would definitely recommend
We loved our holiday and we’ll definitely be back.
However, when we checked in, we were given a dirty room. We asked to change it, but the reception staff refused, saying there were no available rooms – even though Booking.com showed there were. One receptionist (a curly-haired lady) was polite and tried to help, but the rest of the reception and floor staff were rude and never greeted us. That first day, they only cleaned the room instead of moving us and told us to come back the next day, but we were never moved. Also, the balcony door in our room didn’t close properly.
Overall, thanks to the tasty food, good location, and friendly restaurant staff, our stay was enjoyable. But the reception service, the initial room issue, and the fact that the price doesn’t quite match the quality left a negative impression.
My recent stay at the Hotel Montenegro Beach Resort offered some enjoyable aspects, particularly its lovely location. However, guests opting for the all-inclusive package should be aware of a few significant limitations that impacted our experience.
The most notable point for families, or anyone with a sweet tooth, is the ice cream situation. While advertised as all-inclusive, ice cream was only available for free twice a week at designated times. If you or your children wanted it outside of these very limited windows, you had to purchase it separately at the pool bar. This felt quite restrictive for an all-inclusive concept and led to some disappointment.
Another area where the all-inclusive fell short was with beverages, specifically green tea. We found that green tea supplies were depleted very quickly, by mid-morning. Despite inquiring with staff, they informed us that there were no more available, which was quite frustrating for a daily routine. It felt like an oversight in stock management for a resort of this size.
While other aspects of the resort were generally pleasant, these specific issues with the all-inclusive package made us feel that it wasn't as comprehensive as we'd hoped. If these particular items are important to your vacation experience, it's worth bearing in mind when booking.
