The resort is a little bit out of town. It’s a beautiful place the kids loved it. We enjoyed the pool competitions. The staff were very lovely and made you feel at home. The young kids had a show every night ,which was nice so no one is left out in the fun. The rooms was spacious and we were upgraded to a suite. We really did enjoy our stay. It was all inclusive so there were drinks and snacks at the bar and the poolside

I agree with everything that Warren H has written in his review. This Hotel is a 3 star at best. The indoor bar was absolutely freezing but as the only bar in the Hotel we were forced to use it. There is an outdoor poolside bar that, yet again we were forced to use to order drinks from, as for some crazy reason, we could not order all inclusive drinks from the indoor bar even though it was staffed each evening. The bar staff could smoke, drink and have fun whilst Hotel paying guests sat freezing, wet on occasion from having to walk in the rain to and from the poolside bar for drinks. The Hotel Restaurant is the only All Inclusive we have been to that does not have a supply of beer & wine for Guests, again we had to walk out in the rain to the poolside bar during dinner to get a glass of wine. We did request a glass of wine to our table a couple of times but would be finished dinner by the time it would be delivered. The indoor pool was filthy, I can't comment on the Spa as I avoided it based on the dirt and grime on the pool floor. Given the price we paid for a week All Inclusive, it was very poor value for money indeed. We will not be back and suggest an urgent review of this property's star rating. What a waste of money and Christmas Holidays! Avoid at all costs

I stayed at this hotel for the 2nd week of a 2 week holiday - the first with my partner. It was rated as a 5* all inclusive - it isn't. For starters, the only all inclusive bar is located by the pool, approximately 75metres from the main bar. Customers must go to the bar (outside - bearing in mind it was throwing it down with rain for most of my time there) but can then bring them into the main bar to consume them - a mystery to me as to why. Secondly the main bar was cold - very cold, largely due to the fact that they had the air conditioning on full-blast. I asked at reception (using google translate) to have the aircon turned off. The receptionist nodded enthusiastically. But nothing happened. I had returned to the main bar, but was so cold, my feet were going numb. I went and sat in the reception where it was lovely and warm, and again, using google translate explained to the receptionist that I had not anticipated having to sit in the reception with drinks because of the temperature in the main bar. A manager arrived and pointed out that the temperature on Google was indicating 13 degrees. He could not grasp the concept that this reflected the temperature outside the hotel and that by putting the air con on in the main bar it was reduced dramatically. Eventually we got it sorted. Just got soaked every 20 minutes or so going to the outside bar to get a drink. Also, the staff permit smoking in the main bar, so you will leave with your clothes reeking of cigarette smoke. The food is not good either, all variation on a same (tagine) theme - though the omelettes were nice for breakfast. The hotel boasts an indoor heated pool, which looked inviting, however on the advice of a visiting couple, who had developed an alarming rash after being in there I avoided it - apparently the floor of the pool was greasy and felt terrible underfoot - I have no reason to doubt their judgment. The shower in my room was dreadful. It does not retain enough pressure to keep the shower going so I was continually forced to switch it back from filling the bathtub back to the shower function. In sum, the place is not a good venue to visit - I would avoid it at all costs.

This is not the hotel that we booked for our holiday, but our usual was closed for our trip time so we were asked to swap to El Olivar by our tour company. In the main the staff were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness in the hotel / rooms was good. The food wasn't that good, not much choice even though it was buffet style, it tended to be the same cooked in different ways and was not very warm. The water from our sink was not a good flow and didn't get warm, not sure if this was the same in all the rooms or just ours. No heat in the room. My friends and I all agreed that the star rating didn't match the amenities, it was quite basic for it's rating , needs to be updated. We have been to Marrakech on many occasions so feel able to compare El Olivar to other hotels with the same rating. I must add that I had a Hamman massage at the spa on the hotel site and it was excellent, good value for the money.

The lady with black hair the guest relation lady was so nice to us. She has such a pleasant personality. Apart from that the staff generally were so nice. The service also good. I hope to use the hotel next time I'm in Marrakech

We had a fantastic stay! The room was beautiful, spotless, and serviced daily by housekeeping. The pool area was lovely, clean, and the perfect spot to relax and unwind during the day. The water slides were great fun and suitable for all ages. The hotel had a very warm, friendly, family vibe that made us feel so welcome. The food was amazing — a great variety, always fresh, and beautifully presented. The waiters offered personal service and nothing was ever too much trouble. We booked a day trip through the hotel to the Atlas Mountains, which was well-organised and felt very personal. The hotel is about 25 minutes from Marrakesh, but the free shuttle service made getting there easy. Overall, it was a very enjoyable holiday and a wonderful first visit to Marrakesh. We will definitely return to this hotel!

My friend and I stayed here 01-05th September for 5 nights, that was just not long enough! The staff are amazing, they all speak English, the hotel rooms and facilities (of which there are many) are constantly cleaned. The snack bar serves drinks all day including alcohol. The restaurant AI food is delicious, well presented, plentiful and something for everyone. Free shuttle bus to the souk morning and afternoon. Thank you to all the staff for making my holiday special and very relaxing. Also a traditional style to the hotel with Moroccan aspects which were very interesting to experience.

Fantastic break, food was delicious, drinks were great (wine was fab too) all the staff were amazing, rooms clean and tidy. Highly enjoyable experience. Never said this before but I would return to this hotel. It's not a true 5* but a good 4*.

We arrived and the hotel room wasn't quite ready which was fine as expected. Once we got to the room there wasn't a bed for my son and there was only 1 towel for the 3 of us. There was no coffee or bottles water available in the room either. the room wasn't very clean either and the safe wasn't working. I called reception and they said they would sort out straight away. an hour later still nothing so we called again and again they said they were on their way so we went to the pool for a few hours expecting it to be all sorted when we arrived back... Nope it was exactly the same so called again and once again someone was coming over, no one did. I then had to go to rection twice to ask them to please sort as we had been travelling all day and wanted to sleep and eat. eventually at 8pm at night it got sorted. The staff in the bars, restaurants and animation team were friendly and nice but the food in the restaurants was very basic and caused poorly tummies for me and my family. NOT a 5 star hotel, possibly a 3 star at a push. Restaurant was extremely noisy and full of flies and wasps. small pool was closed for 2 days as well as work being carried out on the hotel throughout our stay. We would not go back to this hotel.

I recently stayed at El Olivar for two weeks with my family, ending with AR, Spa and Palace. While the hotel is advertised as five-star, in my opinion it is closer to a solid three to four stars at best. Positives: • The staff were impeccable – very welcoming, kind, and attentive throughout our stay. I want to give special recognition to Younes, who I believe is one of the hardest working members of staff. He was always present from breakfast through to lunch, and his service towards our family was outstanding. • The food was good, though I feel the children’s range was limited (more on this below). Areas for improvement: • Spa / Hammam experience: Having had hammams regularly in London, I was very disappointed with the service here. A true hammam involves applying black soap, steaming to allow it to sink in, washing it off, and then scrubbing with a kessa glove to exfoliate dead skin. What we received was not this at all: black soap was applied, but instead of a steam room we were asked to sit on heated marble slabs. The scrubbing was done with the soap still on (which meant no proper exfoliation), and then we were simply washed off and given a light soap massage. This is not a hammam. For anyone unfamiliar, it might pass as one, but for those of us who know, it felt like we were charged for something entirely different. It was honestly very disappointing. • Facilities: There was often a sewer smell coming from the bathrooms, which was unpleasant. At one point the washer in our toilet wasn’t working and we had to call for help. • Room keys: The room cards constantly stopped working. We had to go back and forth to reception several times to get replacements, which was frustrating. • Children’s food options: While the main food selection was good, the choices for children were very limited – mostly pizza, chips, pastries and sweets. There really should be more variety and healthier options for kids. • ATM machine: Be warned – using the hotel’s ATM comes with very high charges. Overall: The hotel itself looks beautiful, and we did enjoy our stay thanks to the amazing staff. However, I would not rate it five-star as advertised. There are too many areas that need improvement, from the spa authenticity to the food range and facilities upkeep. With a few changes, this hotel could truly live up to its potential.
