Sofitel Singapore Sentosa in Singapore

If you're diner who appreciates good view with mediocre food and do not wish to travel far from Sofitel Sentosa, consider dining here.

The welcome was lukewarm at best. The servers were friendly but what initially marred our unpleasant dining experience was when we decided to move outdoors. One of my friends and fellow diner was cold so we decided to move to the alfresco area. We were initially told any vacant seating is available, but once we picked a table (which offered then best view) to be seated, one of the restaurant senior hostess informed that the table is taken. When one of our friends asked what time is the patron's reservation, she was rudely cut off with a curt "They're already on their way."

We were brought into one of the darkest corners of the alfresco area to be seated and we said its unacceptable chose a nearby better lit location instead. The hostesses relented and prepared for us to be seated there.

The menu was very inviting. My friends ordered the sea urchin creamed pasta, lobster spaghetti and baked cod while I settled for a stuffed pasta. Despite the raving reviews, the dishes turned out mediocre at best. The only better dish in comparison was the stuffed pasta. The sauces for my friends' pastas were mild, grainy and did not complement the pastas they're served with.

We thought, since the mains didn't meet our expectations, deserts couldn't go wrong. But boy were we proven otherwise. The tiramisù was runny and we wondered where the mascopone cheese was. The chocolate lava cake was over baked and its insides were not runny either.

I don't like writing off restaurants but after the abysmal experience yesterday, I would neither dine here again nor would I recommend my friends to this restaurant.
