Hotel Garbí in Calella de Palafrugell

The hotel is slightly dated but well maintained and tastefully decorated.

A nice, cosy hotel in a very quiet area, with plenty parking spaces along the street. Only a few minutes away from the beach 🏖️
The room is beautiful, clean, comfortable bed and a small fridge, has a balcony with a great view of the garden, pool and see.
The young lady at the reception was very nice and helpful, her recommendations are much appreciated. Thank you!
Unfortunately there's only a bathtub, no shower, and the water was either cold or extremely hot.
Maybe it will be improved 😉👍

the hotel is located on a hill within 5 minutes walk to the beaches, however the return walk up the gradients require a reasonable state of fitness, but you can easily drive and park the car out of season.

Second time we have stayed in 2 years.
Got a room on ground floor , 1 of 3 , still with a sea view but with intrusive noise from reception area and people waiting for lift, which woke me a couple of nights at 1.30 am .
Higher floor room recommended.
Property is a little old but fine.
Nestled in woods next to a camp site .
Staff are great .
Breakfast is adequate but cannot cope with peaks where run out of glasses , run out of cups and takes a whike to replenish serving dishes.
Evening meal to be avoided , tried once !
Hotel is set back on a hill so a room with sea view should be requested.
Hotel is a short walk from sea front but via a hill and stairs which appeared to get steeper everyday !
Nothing to do in area if weather turns poor.

Many thanks to the entire team for the great holiday! The breakfast offerings were wonderful. We were given a lovely large room with a sea view balcony. Special thanks to Karin in the restaurant staff. Only one issue, our room seemed equipped for a handicapped person but the jacuzzi bathtub needs to be replaced by a walk in shower as it was very difficult to get in and out of. Special thanks for the handicap parking space😊

Very efficient, knowledgeable and polite staff. Hotel is close to beaches and excellent dining. Hotel is very clean and quiet. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Hotel Garbí exceeded our expectations in every way! We booked our trip for two of us in late July. Before arriving, there were several things I was worried about based on other Google reviews, but they turned out not to be a problem at all:

1. Parking - Despite arriving on a Saturday evening in late July (peak tourist season), there was plenty of free parking close by the hotel. While we couldn’t park in the hotel parking lot, there was another free, safe public parking lot right next to it that we easily found a spot in. On Monday, we were able to move our car into the hotel parking lot.

2. WiFi - Like other reviews have stated, the WiFi in the rooms is nonexistent, although it’s fine by the lobby and by the pool. However, we needed to work remote while we were here and when we told the front desk, they immediately gave us a WiFi extender and it worked perfectly for our stay. From my understanding, they have several of these they can give to guests.

3. Beds & Pillows - Based on a few reviews, I was worried these would not be comfortable. However, the beds were fantastic, and while the pillows were a bit flat for our liking, we talked to the front desk and they brought us fluffier pillows within a few minutes. Problem solved!

4. A/C - It was super hot and humid while we were here, but the A/C in our room worked great once we got it turned up all the way.

5. Stairs - Yes, there are quite a few stairs to get to Hotel Garbí as it is on a hill overlooking the town. However, this is the case pretty much anywhere you stay in Calella de Palafrugell, and it did not feel excessive at all. Plus, it’s worth it for the gorgeous view from the balconies and it’s what allows for the space to have the amazing pool!

Ultimately, the location was perfect, access to the sea was abundant, the pool and surrounding chairs were stunning, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

I loved the hotel and the facilities. It’s located in a beautiful hill, you can see the bay from the huge balcony, great for an early morning reading. It’s perfectly located close to the beach (7 minutes walk) and to the center of the village but in the middle of nature. We didn’t use the pool, I wish we had more time…
The breakfast was excellent, it had all we needed, fruits, coffee, pastries, salmon, charcuterie, fresh juice and we could sit outside.
Very friendly staff.
I will definitely come back when I come to Spain again!

It is a good hotel. Love the breakfast in the garden and the relaxing pool. Great stay. Climing the stairs from the city to the hotel is a job but i would stay there again cuase its great
