Hotel Portbo in Calella de Palafrugell

We had a great stay at Hotel Port-Bo! The breakfast was delicious and there was a great range of food. Location is perfect and the view from our room was brilliant.

Absolutely cannot recommend this hotel enough. A traditional Spanish hotel that welcomes you with open arms. The young girl on reception was so very helpful when we dropped our keys down the lift shaft to when we needed a taxi as i hadn’t realised that it was a local festival and no buses back to Girona. Breakfast as everyone says is sensational served by a very caring staff. Fresh fruit and an ever changing sweet and savoury buffet. Pool area clean and relaxing. Would love to return one day.

A lovely place to stay for a few nights! The accommodations feel more like spacious apartments, featuring two rooms and a convenient kitchenette. Just a short walk from great restaurants and the beach. The hosts also offer excellent local recommendations.

We stayed for a week and only wish it could have been longer. This is a lovely clean, quiet hotel in a good location central to beaches in the area. Staff were all very friendly, the pool is a real bonus for a 3 star hotel, aircon worked well and breakfast far exceeded our expectations. Beds were comfortable and everything was spotless.

We’re just back after family wedding this hotel is good value for money. B&B only the breakfast is excellent the staff and proprietors friendly and efficient. Good pool area and only 5 minute walk to the sea front. Parking is extra but worth it.

The rooms are bit retro but clean. Great location, close the center of town and the beaches.
Breakfast is very good and the Hotel staff very are very friendly and helpful. Own parking lot is big plus.

The Port-Bo is a basic but lovely family run hotel. Myself and wife stopped here for 2 weeks in the last week in June and first of July. What it lacks in facilities it makes up for in quality of the service. All staff from reception, cleaners and maitre- de in the breakfast room go out of their way to look after you. I found all to be friendly and helpful. My Spanish is very poor and their English is basic but we always made each other understood. There is a small but nice pool (and Jacuzzi) and although we only used it once there never seemed to be a shortage of sunbeds when we passed. Rooms (we had a standard twin ) are a reasonable size with good comfortable beds a small wardrobe, desk and TV. Bathroom has a shower over the bath and a hair dryer. The sink is small and it took a while for hot water to come through but overall good. Our room actually had a long distance view of the sea from the balcony ( didn’t pay extra for this) and I don’t think many rooms have this. So it was a surprising bonus for us. The hotel is in a good location back from the noisy centre but only 5 minutes walk to the promenade area. A highlight of our stay was the breakfast which is a large array of continental buffet fare with fresh fruits, yogurts, breads, pastries, meats, cheese and lovely savouries. Plus there is also eggs (fried, scrambled, omelette and poached) and bacon made freshly to order. The hotel has a car park ( at separate charge ) which is a big bonus in an area where parking can be difficult. Beware though that spaces are tight ( SUV parking is difficult, but some seemed to manage). Overall this a lovely hotel and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
