Hotel Best Terramarina in La Pineda

Great hotel location,hotel is a nice building right next to the sea and in a good spot for the area of La Pineda with shops,quite bars and restaurants nearby. The room we stayed in was a side room,it was clean and nicely decorated out but it has a few niggles for us. That bathroom/sink/bedroom set up is not practical at all.The bathroom really needs to be sectioned off as it doesn't feel private and any smells coming from there just linger in the room.The glass door to the toilet just gets in the way as it just swings both ways and you can't lock it.The free safe is excellent but it's on the floor in the wardrobe (again,not practical especially if you have a disability or troubles get up and down). The door leading into all rooms were really dirty,the hallways need updating really. The reception staff are friendly,the head of the restaurant is a bit hit and miss and the restaurant staff are half and half, some friendly others don't look like they are bothered. The man who cooks the eggs is a lovely man and very friendly. The food is excellent with plenty to pick from considering it's quite small.We did have to que for evening meals a couple of times.So be aware of that. Entertainment, don't know as we never went on the night,pool is quite small but clean,the beach wins it over above all. We would stay here again but we know now what to expect,it's a great hotel,BUT needs a few alterations to the room most of all,this would make this place an absolutely perfect hotel.Thank you.

Previous reviews have mentioned the staff are fantastic and always try their best to give excellent service. This is 100% correct and are wonderful. The food in the restaurant for both Breakfast and Dinner was adequate and you could always find something to eat. Breakfast was what you would expect, but quite a wait for your eggs to be cooked. In the restaurant on an evening the Salad dishes on offer were extensive and very well presented. There were around 8 hot dishes prepared to choose from, but unfortunately they did not stay hot. ( microwave available to nuke your food if you so wish ) Now there's an issue and very frustrating one. Only having 1 Chef available to cover the Meat cooking station, Fish cooking station and Pasta cooking station is not acceptable for guests and certainly not acceptable for you to put the Chefs who do try their best through this experience. The Meat served to me was never fully cooked through and such a shame. The Chefs try pressing down on the Meat to speed up the cooking process, which is not how you cook and only cooks the outside. I'm sure this practice would not happen if the Chefs had help .The Fish I tried was okay, due to the fillets being thin, so only needed flash frying. I didn't have freshly cooked pasta because on 2 occasions I was waiting far too long to even be acknowledged. I have stayed in many Best Hotels and never experienced the lack of staff to cook your food. Sort this out Terranarina and the dining experience would be amazing and befitting a 4 star accommodation. Now for the big shocker at this Hotel. Having read previous reviews about the lovely pool area we couldn't wait to relax and have a cool dip. The pool area is in dire need of serious repair and cleaning. The pool water was full of flies and debris floating and silt lying on the bottom, This was due to the inadequate botched filtration system. ( See pictures) The areas around the pool were filthy, with stagnant water in the drains. Umbrellas broken and filthy, bins not emptied, paper cups not picked up for several days. No cleaning of the area between 10am and 6pm. The toilets never had any soap or anything to dry your hands on at any time. No toilet checks done at any time throughout the day. The toilet door handles were disgusting as were the entry doors and exit doors to the pool. I just cannot understand that other guests say the pool area is great. Come on Best Terranarina sort it out and get the Manager to walk every area of the Hotel daily and sort out the issues. Getting good reviews makes you complacent, but in my opinion you are not worthy of being classed as a 4 star Hotel, but you could be easily and quickly. Would I come back - yes if you sorted out the lack of chefs and repaired and upgraded your pool area.
