Hotel Llafranch in Llafranc

You will read in several reviews that the staff are unfriendly to the point of being rude. That was certainly our experience when we ate in the restaurant tonight. Menus were planked down in front of us without a single word of welcome. Orders were taken, again without a word or smile, and food was delivered and almost thrown down on the table. The waiting staff were detached and gave the very strong impression of not wanting to be there. We had prawns in shells to start - no bowl of water or hand cleanser until we asked for them. Steak was delivered on piping hot slates - no warning that the slates were hot. In fact no communication with or from the waiting staff at all. The restaurant gave the strong impression that nobody was in charge. This used to be an excellent hotel and restaurant. I’m afraid it has fallen a very, very long way. Give it a miss. There are much better places to stay and eat in Llafranc.
