Hotel Rosa Nautica in Malgrat de Mar

my flight was delayed by bad weather in Barcelona and I just managed to catch the last train from Barcelona Sants which was late & arrived at Malgrat station around 00.30. I phoned reception mid afternoon and again late evening to confirm reception would be open (actually 24/7) and a helpful clerk checked me in & showed me to my room. When I woke I had a full sea view from the balcony, room was adequate but no T&C or fridge. comfy bed, bath tub! plenty of HW and storage space. tv with 2 UK channels. public spaces decorated & furnished like a 4* hotel and the food was of very high quality- better than many 5*’s I have stayed in. nice pool, sheltered from breezes, always plenty of sunbeds. hotel at centre of activity with kiosks selling boat & bus trips (including Girona & BCN airports), information centre for Malgrat in building, bus stop right outside front door. noisy at weekends but quiet during week in October. local folklore festival during my stay with road closed & shows staged outside hotel entrance! helpful staff, scrupulously clean - thoroughly recommended & would stay again

I had an amazing week in this hotel. The stuff is helpful, polite and kind. Our room was basic, but it got all what you need. The beach is huge, beautiful, clean and just across the hotel. In the area you can find different restaurants, shops, supermarkets... Nice to mention, every night in the hotel there is some kind of music performances. And now, Most important thing that I would like to highlight is the FOOD in the hotel. I mean, WOW! Especially the dinner, it was a rapsody of tastes, I enjoyed every meal. Chefs, you are beyond great! I would appreciate if anyone knows the names of two chefs that were constantly there through the dinner. All in all, would be back there for sure!

The hotel is clean and tidy, with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Great location, with only a few minutes walk away from the beach and shops. There is an excursion office directly next door with lots of activities to do, and we were able to book a great boat trip from here for good value. The transfer we used dropped us only a short walk away from the hotel and this is also where coaches for excursions seem to collect and drop off (you can see this from the hotel). The kids club was quiet, as at the time we went there were not many other young children there but the two girls running this were friendly and tried hard to still make this an exciting experience for those using this.

Just back from a 6 day stay, our room was slightly on the basic side with no fridge or kettle in the room however we could see some rooms are now being renovated so more than likely will be upgraded soon saying this the room was cleaned daily and very cool with the air con. The location of the hotel is perfect with a short walk over the road to the beautiful beach which was very clean, shops bars and restaurants also a stone throw away. We would recommend ‘The Anchor’ a British pub just over the road with lovely food and the owners Trevor and Chris very friendly and welcoming. The main positive about this hotel was the food! We opted for the full board option which included breakfast and dinner and so glad we did, the dinner was the main attraction for us the best hotel food we have had with plenty of options for such a small restaurant would highly recommend for the food alone. Lastly a shout out to the lovely lady with curly hair on reception we sadly didn’t get her name but she always greeted us with a smile and nothing was ever too much bother to her a credit to the hotel for sure!

Rosa Nautica is close to the beach, not crowded beach in the area, the room has all that you need, is very comfortable and clean, the "crew" polite and helpful, the cuisine ... excellent!

The hotel was absolutely amazing. I have a gluten allergy and the staff was unbelievable from the waiters to the chef. They would have my own separate breakfast waiting for me and at dinner time the chef would give me a walk around letting me know what was safe to eat as well as providing me with other options he could make. We stayed during the power outage in Spain and the staff were spectacular they installed LED lights on the stairs and in the dining room. The kitchen prepared a set menus that night and the food was fantastic. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. The rooms were comfortable and clean. I travelled in a party of three and we were given a room with a double bed and two single beds with one of the singles behind a separate wall which was a nice touch for me.

We were pleasantly surprised at how lovely this hotel was. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but nicely furnished and styled. Shower in bathroom was great.Small fridge in the room. Food was good but by the end of the week we were fed up with it because there was little variation day to day. We stayed half board. On the down side the balcony looked right into hotel and rooms of next door hotel. The bathroom was good but there were stains on ceiling and wall were bugs had been squished and not cleaned. Plus the plumbing really stank at certain times of the day and night. We had to catch our transfer coach at 8 am and there wasn't even a cup of tea on offer for us let alone breakfast before we left which I thought was a bit mean. Also it was €25 nonrefundable for the safe in room plus a refundable €10 deposit. I thought this was very expensive. Pool area was a bit tired but serviceable and the loungers could have done with a clean. Malgrat de Mar has a beautiful old town with lots of gorgeous buildings. Lovely little park with green parakeets in the trees. Lots of wildlife from butterflies to lizards and birds which my daughter loved. Check out the tower for the views down over the town. You get a lift up to it! Train station within walking distance for day trips to Barcelona etc. Beach just across the road from hotel. We really enjoyed our week here and would return even with the minor gripes about the hotel.

When checking in with the tour operator, be sure to check which room they assign you. We were initially given a room next to the ventilation system. It was impossible to sleap due to the constant noise. Only hotel staff was sleaping in our flat. After a complaint, we got a really nice room with a view of the street and the sea. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. For a three-star hotel, they have above average good food. The hotel is very close to the beach and they also have their own pool. I would suggestthem only the inscriptions with the names of the food in the buffet The hotel is a very good starting point for excursions and is only a 5-minute walk from the regular train connection to Barcelona. Prices at the end of September in neighboring shops were very low for a tourist destination.

+ The hotel location was excellent, only a 2min walk from the beach and near shops, restaurants and other places. The buffets were incredible, even as a vegetarian I was able to overfill my plate. The staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel itself was very well organised.
- Sometimes it could be noisy at night, but that weaker point was made up by the food, staff, location, facilities and the live performances that the hotel provided.
