My boyfriend always berates me for looking at reviews of hotels before I book, but sometimes you need to look at the negatives and see if they out way the positives. I booked this trip through on the beach so stupidly thought it would be relatively ok.

I am currently staying at this hotel and it is most definitely not a resort, it’s a very outdated poor excuse for a hotel- I actually wanted to cry when I arrived!

When you arrive you are given a wrist band for the buffet, and have to put a deposit down for tokens which you exchange for drinks. You need to return your cup to get the tokens back- very backward way of running an all inclusive.

The rooms are tiny. Hardly any room to walk around the beds. There is a dressing table which you couldn’t sit at as it was right by the foot of the beds!! . After a day, the toilet stopped flushing but to be fair, the cleaning staff came quickly to resolve the issues. The blankets in the cupboard look like they have never seen a washing machine so we refused to use them. The AC is good and works well. The balcony is of a good size but overlooks what looks like a residential road.

The food is poor- not much in the way of fish - the same dry fish was served two meals running. The snack bar served toasted cheese sandwiches which keep my teenagers going!! We went out to eat as the food was awful.

The alcohol is good- locally sourced and generously poured but again you have to return your cup to get your tokens back.

I’m not sure if you can class music as coming out of a speaker as entertainment but this goes until 11 when the bar shuts and the pool table area is closed off and the cues taken. This is the only type of entertainment put on by the hotel.

The pool is of a good size and there were plenty of sun beds and umbrellas available. Occasionally, the staff would put out goals for water polo and twice we saw water aerobics. The hotel does NOT provide beach towels so take your own or be prepared to buy from the local supermarket which is 3 minutes away.

Asides from the pool the other good feature is there was a free shuttle bus to the beach it roughly comes every half an hours from 9-1 then from 3-9. This takes you right to the tourist stretch and the beach.

All in all, spend a bit more money and go somewhere which is what you want for your well deserved summer holiday
