Description

Evenia Zoraida Resort is a 4-star beachfront hotel in Roquetas de Mar, Spain, established in 1974. It offers a wide variety of room types, including Standard rooms with mountain, sea, or water views, Junior Suites, and Suites, catering to families and groups. The resort features two saltwater swimming pools with slides, a children's playground, a fitness centre, sauna, billiards, games room, and tour desk. Dining options include buffet and a la carte restaurants, with a bar serving branded drinks. WiFi and free parking are available. The hotel is noted for its daily housekeeping, clean rooms, and hardworking staff. However, guests report the food is basic and repetitive, with limited meat options and some cold dishes. Entertainment mainly targets children and is mostly in Spanish. The atmosphere is lively and crowded, especially with many Spanish families, which may affect those seeking quieter stays. English speakers may find limited language support among staff.

Location

Located at Avenida Mariano Hernandez, 133, the hotel is just 120 meters from Playa de la Urbanización de Roquetas de Mar, a pebbly beach where sunbeds and parasols are available for a fee. The Almeria Airport (LEI) lies 24 km away, approximately a 20-minute drive. The resort is about a 10-15 minute taxi ride from the town centre of Roquetas de Mar, which has limited shops and restaurants. Public transport options are minimal and irregular, so renting a car or using taxis is advisable for exploring the area. The hotel is positioned on the beachfront promenade, providing easy access to the sea and coastal walks.

Tips

  • To avoid long queues at buffet meals, try to dine early.

If you're a poor Spanish family with little money looking for a cheap holiday by the sea and don't care about what you eat or drink you just might like it . If however you're British that's another story ! This hotel is geared up for the Spanish only not for other Europeans. Meal times we had to queue all the time to get in to the pig pen feeding area,(some of the guests behaved like real animals) sorry I meant the restaurant. Food was very basic, bland and repetitive. No decent meat, all cheap cuts of pork and chicken mostly. Steak night was funny, it was just bone and gristle on the grille, from a cow I think ? I gave up in the end trying to eat the sh1te. Drinks( alcoholic) you have to pay for if you wanted something enjoyable to drink even though this was meant to be an all inclusive holiday. There was only one draft lager available and it was flat and rank, tasted like it was past its BBE date gave up drinking in the hotel and went else where of an evening. Swimming pools x2 are salt water, the kids pool was very yellow in colour... Enough said ! Pool area is very busy all the time and you won't get a sun lounger unless you get there in the very early hours of the morning before the sun comes up, I'm not joking ! On the whole staff were ok but most of them seemed over worked and stressed out with too many guests to deal with as the hotel was full up. Our room was ok and clean(only one English speaking TV channel not working ?), everything worked in the bathroom . The women who cleaned our room were very good and friendly and the bed was very comfortable & clean, no complaints there. Sorry, but this is the only positive thing I can say about zoo/hotel. Entertainment was crap, nothing for the adults to do, all geared towards the kids. To conclude, it is what it is a very cheap hotel for local Spanish families on a budget. How Tui can say this is 4 star is a joke, it's hardly 2 star in my opinion from what I experienced after 2 week stay in a dreadful holiday location. Don't go there and don't believe the bullsh1t holiday reps say about this hotel... It's sh1te !

Great hotel 1 hour from the airport
Beautiful hotel, big rooms with big beds
Lovely powerful shower, great views from our balcony. Beautiful massive beach next to the hotel. Beautiful big swimming pools with slides for smaller and bigger kids also adults and a foam party was lot of fun.
Food is lovely and drinks are name branded from a glass bottles which was included in the all inclusive. Staff are all working hard so everything is running smoothly. Entertainment was fun.
Few shops and a supermarket outside the hotel, town is only 10 minutes away in a taxi which was very cheap.
Great family holiday in Almeria !!!

If you like to spend your well earned holiday with clients who are rowdy, loud and inconsiderate then Evenia Zoraida Park is the place for you. The hotel, rooms, food, drinks and amenities are all good but finding a quiet corner to sit and relax is impossible. The pools and sunbed areas are well laid out and well suited for all ages to have a splashing time. We are here at the moment and can't wait for our return flight home. It is a Spanish family resort, but we thought the majority of children would now be in school. Not so, the place is teeming with children of all ages and very unruly behaviour. As the week has progressed, the noise level has intensified and there is no off button. The staff are very hard working and generally polite and efficient, but they also seem to be worn down by the high volume of pushy and greedy clients. I had read the reviews before booking this trip and thought they were probably a bit harsh....I was mistaken the majority are very accurate. We will only book adults only hotels in the future.

I’m currently at this hotel and can say that this has been just an OK holiday. I WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS HOTEL!! Firstly I will start with the good ones: room cleanliness, that’s really one of the best aspects of this hotel. Room has been cleaned every day, towels changed, floor sweeped. Pools are nice and clean and the amount of jacuzzis and other stuffs in the pool are really making the stay here more enjoyable. Now with the cons: - food here is average level, very repetitive and most of the food is just taken out of the frozen such as the pizzas/ fries and sometimes is even being served cold. Not too much selection of meat, only pork, chicken was served only twice which is quite disappointing. Apart from this, burgers and pizzas were served every single day. - queues at the restaurant - this is the FIRST AND ONLY hotel where I stayed in and had to queue to enter during meal times - this definitely needs more organization. Also we were a group of 6 and the tables at the restaurant for 6 people were limited and we wanted to bring together 2 tables of 4 which were one next to each other, we were told by the staff that we are not allowed to do this. - small glasses which were available next to the juice machines are all really dirty, one of them had lipstick mark on it so you could tell that those were just rinsed and not washed thoroughly. On this note, in the morning I wanted to take bigger glasses as those were not dirty and was approached by a staff member saying that I need to take the small ones as only those are allowed for breakfast - obviously eventually I took the big ones as I am not drinking from dirty glasses. - too many rules at the hotel which are ruining your stay - for example we wanted to play in the pool with some water rackets and ball, we were whistled by the lifeguard as we were not allowed, however one day before people were playing and nobody whistled at them. There is also a sign on the doors that you are not allowed with inflatables in the pool, I have seen two kids with inflatables but I have a feeling that if I had brought my inflatable mattress I would have been whistled again for not being allowed. - the differences made between Spanish and English people did not go unnoticed starting with the bracelets that we wore, we found out from a member of staff that yellow bracelets which came through agency mean we get to have drinks not as good as the ones with the blue bracelets which paid directly to the property or were locals. However, we did not have an option on the website to upgrade so I felt that meant they were making differences between us. Overall, I didn’t really enjoy the stay taking all of these into consideration. However, trying to not think about too much, the stay was ok and relaxing but I will never return. I am sure there are better hotels here in Roquetas De Mar where we can be treated better.

This was our second time visiting Evenia Zoraida Resort, and while there are positives, overall this stay did not live up to our first experience. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. On the positive side, the resort itself is well maintained, with attractive grounds and plenty of space for families. The new lazy river in the water park is a brilliant addition and the children absolutely loved it. The pool areas are clean and lively, and the atmosphere around the complex is generally good. The housekeeping team worked very hard – our room was cleaned daily and always left tidy, which we really appreciated. There was a fridge in the room, but it was empty. It would have been a nice touch if it were restocked daily with soft drinks and perhaps some alcoholic options, as many resorts now do. The rooms themselves are on the smaller side and starting to look a bit tired, and the bathrooms took a long time to get hot water, which wasn’t ideal when everyone wanted showers at the same time. The food selection remains broad, with something for everyone, but this time I found much of it was served cold, which made meals less enjoyable. Another frustration was the queues for the restaurants – both inside and outside. We visited in September, so I can’t even imagine what it must be like during the peak summer season when the hotel is at full capacity. Entertainment was another big disappointment. Last year it felt much better, with a stronger mix of shows. This year the evening entertainment was almost entirely in Spanish, and many of the game shows seemed to involve pre-selected Spanish participants only. It would be far more inclusive to make at least part of the entertainment accessible for international guests. Another issue was the treatment of guests. There seemed to be a clear difference between how Spanish and British visitors were treated. For example, balcony lights on the “English” side of the hotel were switched off earlier than on the Spanish side, and at the bars Spanish guests were often served first, even if British guests had been queuing longer. I also found the general behaviour of some Spanish guests quite rude. It was common to find people blocking entrances, and instead of moving aside when politely asked, they would laugh. This kind of behaviour made the atmosphere uncomfortable at times and did not give a welcoming impression. The bar service could also be improved. Let’s just say, a smile now and then wouldn’t hurt the bar staff – after all, it doesn’t cost anything! It often felt like ordering a drink was more of a burden than part of the holiday experience. A bit of friendliness behind the bar would go a long way in making guests feel welcome. Overall, while there are still positives – such as the hardworking cleaning staff and the new lazy river – the negatives far outweighed them. Between the cold food, dated rooms, long queues, lack of inclusive entertainment, unfriendly bar service, and the difference in treatment betw

Absolutely not recommended! Horrible experience before departure. The same maid cleaned our room and on the last day she kept asking me what time we would leave the room and what time we would fly out. I had a $450 perfume lying on the sink the whole time I was there. I never dreamed that in Europe, a staff member would steal my perfume in a 4-star hotel. I reported it to the reception and hotel management, I've been trying to reach a solution for almost a week, but the hotel is not communicating with me. Their attitude shows how they don't respect their clients. The last point was that there were nails sticking out of the wooden pier. No one is maintaining it. My son cut his leg on the way to the shower. Don't go there! The hotel deletes all negative reviews. The customer has no chance to know the truth!

4-star hotel? Not so sure! I'm seriously considering giving just 1 star. Why? We stayed from 27th July until 6th August. The hotel is outdated and definitely needs renovation! Basically, the same food every day. The hotel was full, and we had to queue daily to enter the main restaurant—whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. We've visited much larger hotels in Turkey, Egypt, Greece, etc., and never experienced anything like this. Either the restaurant lacks capacity or there's poor organization. Two tiers for all-inclusive? For this, I blame TUI since we booked through them. Nobody told us we were in the lower tier (silver). Want a sunbed on the beach? You pay extra. Again, in Turkey and Egypt, we never paid for this. Now the cherry on top: On our last day, they forced us to vacate the room by 12:00. But our transfer was at 18:30—leaving us stranded in the lobby for 6 hours with a 4-year-old child. Some might ask, 'Why not go to the pool/beach or walk?' First, the heat made walking unsafe for a young child. Second, how could we shower afterward? In Turkey and Egypt, they always let us keep the room until transfer time. This is our first and last visit—not just to this hotel, but to Spain. Turkey and Egypt are far better options!"

Looking at the reviews we were looking forward to a nice week away We’re now looking forward to the flight home! If you want to be bombarded by flys - this is the place to go! You and the food is literally covered all day and night! In fairness, it makes the food slightly better! Imagine your typical buffet (which are usually ok) now imagine that 10x worse - exactly! The only good thing about this hotel is the water slides for the kids - if you’re willing to sacrifice everything else, then this is for you If not STAY AWAY!!!

This is our 3rd time coming to this hotel and the 1st time since all Covid restrictions have been lifted. As a British person who lives in Spain I really like this hotel compared to hotels that specialize more to British clients. Because the buffet opens late but for the Spanish customers they eat even later so I can walk straight in without having to wait. I have lunch at 13 and there is not line by 14.30 there are people lining up outside. I have dinner at 20 by 21 there are people lining up out side. We had the gold pass so we went to the proper restaurants 3 times that are really good with big menus. The buffet restaurant is good quality with plenty of choices. The quality of the drinks was very good and the entertainment was also very good. One big improvement since last time is the lazy river that is really really good and takes people away from the slides so there are no lines for the slides. One thing last time we came my daughter was 8 and used the mini club alot to make friends. Now that she is 11 she is too old for the mini club so she has to go to the activities her self that makes it harder to make friends but was still good but I think mini club should cover a bit older. I like the staff and the rooms so for me all is perfect. I was reading some of the other reviews about trouble making people being in the hotel and did notice a day before we left there where some trouble makers coming in but this did not effect me.
