MedPlaya Hotel Alba Beach in Benalmadena

This is my 4th 14 day visit to this hotel and I never have any problems. Check in is smooth and easy, rooms small but spotless and comfortable and cleaned daily. I have never had a bad meal in this hotel and there is usually enough choice for even the most picky of eaters. The lounge bar is comfortable and prices are competitive. The staff work hard and are friendly without intruding. This is a 3* hotel with 3* prices and you get what you pay for, 3* service, which at the Alba Beach is much better than some more expensive 4* establishments. We have already booked for March 2027.

We have just returned from a 2nd fantastic stay here! The food was fresh and always a great selection. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back and hope to do a longer stay next time

MedPlaya Hotel Alba Beach is a very nice hotel! Only 2 minutes to the beach (across the street), many shops and restaurants and cafes nearby, a nice pool, very nice and friendly staff! We had a room with the seaview, I was laying in bed, resting happily, listening to the waves. Loved it!

Spent 6 weeks here over Christmas and New year hotel was great value and I fantastic location near beach,public transport and plenty bars and restaurants on doorstep. Staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming and hardworking. Good mix of nationalities with everyone mixing quite well. Many uk and irish guests repeat visitors and we made many friends .

Great place, close to main beach, Hotel clean, rooms good & food OK for all inclusive/ half board. Some people complained to me about quality of food and choice, BUT if you can't find something daily you like to eat you really should be going to this Hotel !
I would return I was more than happy & all the staff were professional!
If I wanted to be really picky... the baked beans at breakfast could be hotter..but there is a microwave to use if you need to.

Couldn’t really fault this hotel Stayed in a superior room on the 7th floor overlooking the beach , the pool and mountains Had really good weather for October and was lovely to get in the pool No problems getting sunbeds although not the best quality We had bed and breakfast which to be fair was decent Depending on what time you went for breakfast it could be very busy and sometimes some of the food wasn’t available Usually had pastries which were very nice Bed was comfortable and bathroom always cleaned with hot water for the bath and shower Definitely return to this hotel if staying in Benalmadena again

Visited this hotel as a couple for my partners 60th birthday. We were happy with our choice. Good points: In a good location near to the beach, plenty of shops and bars, and the bus stop. It is about a 25 minute walk to the Marina area but the bus is cheap and will take you there. Buy a bus card for €1.50 from the Tabac shop on the seafront and top it up minimum €5. One card can be used for as many people as you like. When you get on, just tap the card. It's a flat fare so you don't have to tell the driver where you're going. It cost us €.71 each to go all the way to Málaga for the day. Staff. Very friendly. We were given a voucher for a free bottle of wine for my partners birthday which was really nice. Maintenance. The hotel was absolutely spotless and was constantly being cleaned. Entertainment. Standard 3 star hotel entertainment. Maybe a bit better than at some other similar hotels that we've been to. Pool area. No sunbed hogging. There were free loungers all day, every day. Very unusual but very welcome! Food: Very nice breakfast. The evening meal was fine too for 3 star. Every evening (except for one) the food was nice. Bad points (these are few): Sun loungers. These are the non adjustable type that just lie flat. Maybe why nobody hogs them! Uncomfortable. Pool. Nothing wrong with the pool but it is fenced off until 11am which some people may find too late. Didn't bother us personally. Rooms. Comfortable but small. They're quite dated but this didn't bother us as they're kept spotlessly clean. Beds comfortable. On the whole we had a great holiday and would return.
