Hotel Teide in L'Arenal

Don't book here!!!!!! We thought we were planning a fun girls' vacation. The hotel is conveniently close to the *****, so you'd think it would be perfect. After just one night, we noticed someone stealing from our room. We had a lot of cash on us, as almost everything here has to be paid for in cash. The rooms had been cleaned, and the money was missing. I reported this to reception, and they immediately told me, "It's your own fault, you have to use the safe." Their own safe, which requires a personal code, is safe, according to them. They claim they can't get into it, and besides, not all valuables fit in the small safe. The hotel doesn't do anything about it because it can't be proven. Shortly after, the entire cleaning staff was at reception, conferring in Spanish while constantly looking at me. So there's a good chance it was about what I'd just discussed with the receptionist, as there was no manager present. I'll have to go back tomorrow to speak with the manager. Good advice; it's not worth it, so please find another hotel to avoid this.

A receptionist who gives you the impression of bothering him and who also has a disrespectful attitude! Teide and Teide 2 being the same hotel just an annex Cardboard wall (you hear your neighbor going to the toilet/vomiting etc.)

!WARNING! Professionally criminal hotel: Your cash is NOT safe in your safe or room in general. A trio of ‘cleaning ladies’ have access to the safe master combination and work together with management which probably takes a cut of the cash stolen in exchange for protection. They only take cash as it is hard to trace. Not only the safe is searched but also your personal belongings for cash. Please refer to other warning reviews for more examples.

Furthermore:
-Black mold in the bathroom
-Black mold in the airco, which cause serious respiratory problems
-No toilet brush
-Poor room hygiëne
-Leaking shower cabinet
-Broken toilets
-Hostile staff

Overall hotel Teide fails in all departments regarding being a hotel but absolutely succeeds as a platform for criminal activity.

Are you already checked in and reading this too late? If you notice cash was stolen which must have happened recently (30minutes or so) immediately go outside to find and request a police officer to come with you when you confront management to ensure fair treatment.
