Reviews
There really is an army of cleaners, quoting a previous review, I have never seen a team work so hard and clean so much area while smiling and laughing. This happened every single morning, with a deep clean on the actual sunbeds some mornings, the pool area is cleaned rigorously everyday. One review mentioned the noise made by cleaners, I didn’t experience this, was just thrilled with the level of hygiene. I saw one cockroach, also, they are insects, it is fairly normal in the Canaries, that’s just a reality. There was a 2 day employee strike on when we were there but the hotel was fully functional; I hope they have great terms and conditions, the whole team there are superb.
All staff extremely friendly, restaurant, bar, cleaners, reception. Wonderful people, fantastic, impressive English skills ♥️
Perhaps we were lucky; there were no guests drinking excessively while we were there etc. we are not bothered that all inclusive stops at 11PM; we’re in bed to enjoy the next day of pool fun. Plus, we don’t really do the entertainment in hotels and tend to walk about the local area in the evening, though there was something on in the hotel bar, every night when we came back.
No stress of trying to get a sunbed, although plenty of people do still reserve them with towels, despite lifeguards asking them everyday not to. Main thing is that the pool is large, there is lots of space and plenty of loungers, so you are never without, no matter what the time, so that was great. I thought the pool was a lovely temp to cool off after a hot day and our kids spent the entire day in it.
We loved that the restaurant was smaller and less choice, still changed every night and you always got a table immediately, not queuing to get seated all the time like in larger all inclusives, because people at Laguna 1 eat and then leave, rather than sit there for hours, sampling all sorts.
The food was more than decent, salads very tasty and a good range for everyone at every sitting. We all really enjoyed the food and ate out usually in the evening, after filling our fussy kids up on the stuff they liked, quickly on all inclusive in the restaurant, but some evenings the food would be so tasty we would end up eating too much before our meal, because it was really nice. The staff in there are fabulous, I cannot express that enough. We like that people cannot walk in wearing swimwear and PJs; it’s a restaurant and a good policy.
The only cons for me were:
1. The water tank for shower was small, so you had to be fairly quick in a succession of 4 showers or have a small wait between showers. It wasn’t a problem, it’s was very hot, so a cool shower actually lovely, wasn’t freezing, just not much above luke.
2. Sunbeds are not reclinable; I mean this is me being ridiculously precious, I would not want them to put all those beds in a landfill to replace, if given the option.
3. Too much use of paper cups, better than plastic at least, but would be brilliant if some kind of durable reusable cup system could be implemented for all inclusive guests, or perhaps encouragement for people to buy their own, or even have them there available to buy.
I was worried about the holiday after delving into reviews here. I shouldn’t have, I would 100% go back, should the weather take us to Tenerife next year. Thank you Laguna park 1 team; you were awesome 🤩
The rooms are OK with some basic amenities such as fridge, kettle and toaster, however to wash up, you need to go to the shop and purchase a cleaning set. There is also a lack of drainage board or towels to dry things up.
The bathroom has a lovely walk in shower with big shower head, however the water easily leaks out onto the floor, extra sliding door or curtain would help prevent it leaking.
Other than the hotel being a little worn in places and needed some new plaster and painting it was a lovely stay.
Staff were amazing and helped with our questions.
Outside there is a shop next door and lots of restaurants in close vacinity.
About 15 minute walk to the sea front.
Couldn't have been happier with the room, no exaggeration. Considering this hotel was one of the cheaper hotels in the area, the room was huge and I can't imagine I'd get a better view elsewhere.
We went self catering so I can't comment on the quality of the all-inclusive food but the dining room looked really nice. A lot of families and older people here who spent a lot of their day by the pool.
In our room (since we went self catering) we had a microwave, fridge with mini freezer (they provided an ice cube tray 🙏), a hob, cutlery, mugs and glasses, plates and bowls and a pan for cooking.
The supermarket they have right next to the hotel is actually better than you'd think too! If you want to go full on cooking meals for yourself, I'd definitely recommend going to HiperDino or Mercadia (both chain supermarkets).
All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We checked out early because we had a parasailing trip planned at 11. I was so relieved when the Receptionist told us they had a shower we could use even after we'd checked out.
I could write more but I'd be here all day! Great experience all round. Thank you Laguna Park 1! xxxxx
Not so good!
If you're a mountain goat,..
No probs. I'm pretty fit, but I found it hard work.
Rooms look like they've been freshly painted, but...
No air con, and no fans!!!!
Really weird!!
Pool, not too bad I guess.
Except when it rained. Every floor tile was a death trap, not just around the pool, but all over the complex!! Unless you have feet like a ghekko, "you have to be extremely careful"! Not just the elderly, and kids,...everyone! I cannot stress this enough!! So so dangerous. Like walking on ice!!!
You can go all inclusive, or self catering. We chose the latter. Many a time I heard "all inclusive" guests ask for certain drinks, and it seemed "they" were not included! Whereas I popped to shop next door, and bought my own drink, which you can have in the resort. Cheap cheap.
Drinking sub standard alcohol, is not my cuppa tea! And trust me, local Spanish alcohol is horrible.
I've never gone AI in Tenerife, and I never would.
€2/2.50 for a breakfast, €8/9.00 for 3 course dinner. And...if you can stomache it, you can still get a euro a pint!!!
Go out and find it.!
You may ask, why I didn't do my homework, before booking this hotel?
Simple answer is, my son-in-law booked this holiday, and because 4 children were involved, and it was summer holidays, he had to keep the cost down.
I get it! And, to be fair, the kids loved it.
Except the mountain, and the ice rink!!!
Pros...you get a free safe.
You can hire an iron. Good shower.
Cons...rooms too hot! No shelves in bathroom to put your wash stuff!
There's a mountain to climb, and very dangerous when outside area gets wet.
