I stayed here for four days in January and could not fault it. The food was lovely, and the staff couldn’t do enough for me. They chatted to me as if they’d known me for years and were always smiling and friendly. My room was also amazing! I was given a free upgrade much to my surprise, and the room was clean, spacious and the decor lovely. The bed was very comfy and so high I had a box to step...
A very nice hotel with a great design.
The hotel is amazing! The room is big and tidy, the air conditioner is strong and the beds are very comfortable. Without prior requests, to our surprise, one more bed is arranged for the 3 of us. The manager is super helpful and friendly, he recommended us a lot of nearby attractions. The location is fangastic. It was such a such a nice stay and I will definitely recommend this hotel!
Beautiful grounds, very attentive staff, ready to help and accommodate. However, the furniture in the rooms is tired and the cleaning in the common areas is lacking. Otherwise, it's a great hotel.
Super nice Hotel. Amazing friendly and helpful staff. Amazing location and view. I can recommend this place to anyone traveling to the south of Sri Lanka
This was my second time at The Owl and the Pussycat and it was even better this year than last. The standard of accommodation, the food and drinks were all we could have wanted. The staff were very friendly and helpful at oll times. And the hotel's eccentric decor works brilliantly.. The location is wonderful because you can see only palm trees, the ocean and small headlands in either direction. The...

We spent three nights at this gorgeous property in a stunning location on the beach. It is close to surf beaches and Galle fort. This is a clean, modern building with a luxurious feel and very attentive, friendly staff. The owner has created a unique experience for guests with a “home from home”, ambiance. The food was excellent, as was the service. Dining by the large pool with the sound of crashing...
Lovely calming and professionally run small boutique hotel. Amazing views yet great location close to Galle and the south coast. Plenty of tuk tuk's along teh main road so you dont wait long (tip get pick me even to verify the price it should be). The food is amazing and the breakfast i will remember for some time. Carefully thought out and all cooked to order, great juices too. Bedrooms very comfortable...
Very aesthetic hotel and location, wonderful staff who will help with everything
We enjoyed our stay , the view from our room was wonderful. the room was clean and comfortable, good style for a beach resort. It would have been good to have had a kettle in our room , but afternoon tea was free. Staff were always courteous and helpful. The breakfasts were nice but not up to the standards of some of the other hotels we have stayed in in Sri Lanka . Lovely pool but no swimming off...

The experience could not have been any more perfect. The hotel is located in a beautiful natural beach setting surrounded by palm trees. The architecture and interior design is a mixture of modernism and Sri Lankan chic, every detail considered. One could spend days on the poolside loungers enjoying the vista. The food is top notch, with a top class menu serving all tastes. The staff is just wonderful...

Rooms are fabulous and the place is perfectly maintained. Excellent food, too. There's a beach, but sea too choppy to swim, and behind, a main road. Short rides to Unawatanu or to Thalpe itself if you aren't happy to just relax in a great place.
We came as a multigenerational group (12-82 in age) and were so well looked after by the team. The layout of the house works really well. The rooms are spacious but simple. This is a great destination, 10 minutes from the surf beaches, close to golf and 25 minutes to Galle. It is worth pointing out the sea by the house is very rough and not suitable for swimming, the swimming pool is really lovely...
We have just returned from an incredible 6-night stay at Frangipani Tree and could not recommend it highly enough. We had originally booked only 3 nights, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay! From the moment we arrived—very late in the evening—the staff greeted us warmly and made us feel instantly welcome. No matter the hour, they were ready to prepare a delicious meal. The location...
We had a fabulous holiday at this beautiful hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
We were given a room upgrade to an ocean view
A small boutique hotel right on the beach in Talpe ( a shortish tuk tuk ride from Galle) . Excellent food and friendly staff. The hotel has a beautiful pool (the sea near the hotel is not really suitable for swimming although it does look wonderful). The hotel is on a main road, although you can't hear the traffic. Recommended.
Palinda and his crew were without fault. Amazing service and so friendly and polite. Fragipani Tree is a truly heavenly place with beautiful and immaculately kept grounds. It is fronted by a virtually private beach and a wonderfully warm sea. In all perfect.

Good location, beautiful 180-degree view, spacious rooms, large bathroom. The swimming pool is quite small, but the place is rather old, the rooms are old, but the service is good.
Great hotel. Had a great time. Nice pool. Great view from the mountain. Ocean view from the window.
We stayed at this hotel for one night.
We were greeted with a welcome drink and checked into our room fairly quickly.
The room was large enough, but not clean enough. The bathroom was very disappointing because it was dirty.
We couldn't fill the jacuzzi for an hour. The location is good (the hotel is in the mountains), but it's very difficult to get there by tuk-tuk, and there are no cafes nearby,...
I liked the pool and the sun loungers that doubled as beds. It was comfortable to swim in the pool and get some work done during the day. The room was a bit tired, but it had a sea view. The breakfast was overly salty (they didn't offer me an alternative).
Overall, it was okay for a couple of nights.
We had a lovely stay, I would recommend it.
I really liked the hotel. Excellent breakfasts, very attentive staff. I recommend it 👍🏽

Great location on a hill, it feels like Nuwara Eliya, but it's actually Hunawatuna. The food is excellent, and the pools, including private ones, are fantastic. Private villa with 3 bedrooms + swimming pool is great for big family. The scenery is perfect for Instagram photos.
Rooms are fabulous. Clean and spacious.
Great architecture design . I loved the bathroom with jacuzzi and it is totally open and outside the room with great sea view .but maintained the privacy. But the hotel 'S public area is not maintained properly. Broken stairs. Dirty garden and walls. Yet the general manager is very helpful and he was kind enough to offer me the suite room. It was alright. The location was good.
We absolutely loved the Araliya Hotel. It's a great hotel with a fantastic beach, sand, and sea. They have excellent sun loungers exclusively for guests, and the beachfront area is guarded, so you don't have to worry about outsiders taking them. Very good location for a holiday and relaxing, Aslam in the restaurant was very helpful with great service. All staff members including the security guards were very friendly and helpful, very safe inside the hotel
Didn't get a chance to visit the beach, but the room was excellent.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by wonderfully friendly staff at the reception desk, and our positive impression continued when we saw our room. It was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean and a perfect space to relax in.

Good budget stay for the price. Don't expect a view, but the facilities provided are sufficient. Conveniently located next to Indian Hut. Parking is limited, and while the service is good, there's room for improvement. Overall, it is a decent value option.

We came for the restaurant, looks luxury and beautiful. Choose to sit inside, outside was still a bit hot. Service was excellent, food fresh and tasty. A little bit overpriced. But not too much. Perfect for the dinner or romantic date. But even for the kids is good, pizza was good. I was impressed with the butter, how it was served and smallest bread that I ever saw.
On recommendation from Inoka at Cape Welligama, we went here for lunch. Beautiful place. Apparently rooms are lovely according to a lady I chatted to from the UK staying there. I thoroughly enjoyed my superfood bowl & Bazaar Special cocktail! Great!
We went to the restaurant for breakfast not to stay. So I can’t comment about the rooms. Absolutely loved the interior though. We tried the cafe mocha, pineapple juice, papaya juice, css full breakfast and eggs Benedict. The food was ridiculously expensive and not worth the price. May be because the place is inside the Galle Fort. I was excited for the cafe mocha and I was let down. It was cold when...
This was our fifth stop on our honeymoon, and we chose to stay in Galle Fort a little longer than our other locations. In hindsight I’m still not entirely sure that was the right call for us. Had a wonderful stay at The Merchant Galle Fort. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. The room was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. Everything felt easy and welcoming from start to finish. Truly a great experience, Thank you to Chamika and the team—would definitely visit again and highly recommend!
Went to have dinner with my family. Beautiful outdoor area with indoor A/C facility. It was a pretty hot night so decided to stay indoor. Food was curved without any delay. Grilled prawn ,olive oil and garlic dipper was the best dish I had. Food was so good and the potion was pretty big. Service was amazing. Food is a bit expensive than the other restaurant but it’s a worth of trying
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Galle. The decoration is absolutely stunning — every detail is thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed. The Merchant is located in a beautiful spot inside Galle Fort, and the location is definitely its strongest point. The surroundings are charming and well placed, making it a nice place to sit and enjoy the atmosphere of the fort.
However, the service was below expectations during our visit. There was a noticeable lack of attentiveness, and the overall experience could have been much better with more...
We went to Merchant for a dinner out. Had their curry pasta, chicken burger and blue ocean virgin mojito which was soo yum. Portion sizes were so big although prices are bit on the higher side.Great vibe with the nicest staff. 😁
A gorgeous elegant spot to grab breakfast or dinner.
Set in a beautiful lush courtyard, amazing live singer the first night I went down.

Incredible pool and views of the fort.

This was our first trip to Sri Lanka and was made extra special with staying at Kahanda Kanda. All the staff were excellent and looked after our every need! The villa was amazing and we have already booked to come back!
I spent a week at this sublime boutique villa hotel in southern Sri Lanka, owned by ‘George of the Jungle’ as he literally presides over a zoological garden of a variety of flora and fauna, including peacocks and other avian life, monkeys, reptiles, fish, dogs and cats deep in the jungle in the village of Kahanda. This was our final hotel in Sri Lanka. We loved the accommodations: for a family of two adults and two children, we booked a suite (it's two-story, with windows only on the roof—a dormer—and in the bathrooms.) Beautiful place, nice room even with a jacuzzi, privat beach. Friendly staff. Good breakfast we could use outside direct besides the beach.
I recently spent two nights in this hotel.. The Bad: hotel decor is very dated. Colour schemes and furniture and in particular the Jazuzzi bath in bathroom are really archaic. The Good: hotel is located right on the beach. The bedrooms are huge and have excellent aircon and fan. The staff were incredibly nice and the food was excellent, in particular the dinner menu. Choices for breakfast were somewhat...
Our stay at Cocobay was absolutely incredible! The staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming, always going above and beyond. The breathtaking ocean views made every moment unforgettable. Highly recommend
The place is lovely, the service is hard but a little unreliable. Clean, welcoming, the room is large and the space is comfortable. It is 2 kilometers away from the ancient city, but it is also very fast to call a taxi.
The experience of this hotel is average. First of all, the hygiene of the room is average. The bathroom has a bit of smell. Secondly, the towels don't look very clean. I was woken up by mosquito bites in the middle of the night and saw dozens of mosquito bites on my feet. It's really unbearable. I haven't had such a bad experience in so many days. However, the location of the hotel is good. It is in...

A Hidden Gem in Sri Lanka – Agnus Unawatuna
Our stay at Agnus Unawatuna turned out to be nothing short of extraordinary. This boutique hotel truly feels like a pearl among Sri Lanka’s accommodations.

Wonderful stay with breathtaking views
We’ve truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Rumassala. Our room was spotless, spacious, beautifully decorated and offered a stunning view over the Indian Ocean. Especially from the rooftop with the pool, the view is absolutely breathtaking – it’s one of those places where you can just sit and watch the ocean for hours.

Liked · The rooms were really nice and very clean. The pool had amazing views and was a great place to relax. Breakfast was delicious, with several options to choose from. The room is clean and tidy, the balcony has an unbeatable view, and the ancient city is opposite. There is an infinity pool on the fourth floor, which is not big, but clean. Especially the dinner and breakfast are very delicious and not expensive. There is no service charge. It is a very good experience and I am satisfied 👍

Had a wonderful day at Angel Beach. The place is beautifully set right by the ocean, with a relaxed beach vibe that makes it perfect for spending a slow day by the water. The sunbeds are comfortable and the whole space feels stylish and well maintained.

Pizza Margherita was very nice. Spicy chicken burger was average. Passion fruit mojitos were averages. We went on a Thursday around 8pm and outdoor seating was unusually dark. Nice outdoor decor’s and plenty of seating. Doesn’t worth the hype.
We visited Angel Beach Unawatuna in 2021 with a group of friends, and it was a truly memorable experience. The place is located in one of the most popular tourism areas in Unawatuna and is very easy to access. Parking facilities were available at the time, and currently an entrance ticket is required, which is understandable considering the facilities and atmosphere provided.

Had the most amazing stay at Angel Beach, Unawatuna ✨ It was during the Christmas, New Year break, and the property had the most incredible vibe. The pool, cocktails, and stunning beach views truly made it a dream vacation.

The customer service was amazing. Went with a group of friends and has a great time. Food was very good and rooms were clean & Comfortable. Sadly the weather was a little stormy while I was there, but did have a brief opportunity to jump in the ocean! Definitely worth the trip.
We went to grab lunch here, and this place is super overpriced. It's packed with foreigner, more than locals and most of their dishes are not very flavourful. Their butter chicken and naan is very good, pizzas are also nice. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend anything else on the menu. Their cocktails seem decent. I took one for the team by ordering a basil drink, please stay the hell away from...

Absolutely loved our stay here! Extremely clean rooms and beautiful pool area. Staff were so helpful and attentive! Steep hill to get into hotel but ring a bell and within a minute a tuk tuk arrives at the bottom to take you up so it’s no problem at all. So close to all restaurants / bars / cafes. Highly recommend!
View from this hotel is fantastic. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Pool was lovely to relax at. Long steep driveway from the main road, the hotel runs a tuk tuk service to bring you up if needed. Wifi here only worked roughly half out stay. DONT BOOK VIA AIRBNB
You can't beat this hotel for beautiful view, warm and friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms and the best breakfast presentation the entire trip! If you are seeking quiet but close to ocean and restaurants this is the place!
Terrific rooms, lovely breakfast and helpful staff.
This is a really good option for Unawatuna. It is set above the road (quite busy) and is an oasis of well designed chalets and the main the building. The pool is fantastic. Amazing place with an excellent breakfast. Worth the little $ splurge.

One of the nicest places we stayed in Sri Lanka in terms of value. Rooms are simply fantastic - excellent size, well designed. The land has direct access to the ocean and a little beach in front of it. Also has a great gym. Food is excellent here. Service is the absolutely best.
First and foremost, I feel incredibly fortunate to have met the wonderful owner, Catherine, who is so welcoming and kind, qualities that truly shine through in this comfortable and charming hotel. We stayed in two separate rooms, the big room on the 3rd floor was gorgeous, felt like being up in the jungle. Gorgeous views all round.
