I recently spent two nights in this hotel. The Bad: hotel decor is very dated. Colour schemes and furniture and in particular the Jazuzzi bath in bathroom are really archaic. The Good: hotel is located right on the beach

The experience of this hotel is average. First of all, the hygiene of the room is average. The bathroom has a bit of smell. Secondly, the towels don't look very clean

The place is lovely, the service is hard but a little unreliable. Clean, welcoming, the room is large and the space is comfortable. It is 2 kilometers away from the ancient city, but it is also very fast to call a taxi.

It is a very good place with amazing views and beach access. There is a private beach with sea facing rooms. The restaurant is also by the sea. There is a supermarket right opposite

You can walk along the beach to other restaurants where you can try their food. Else, there are good places within 10 mins walk. It's a lovely place to be in Unawatana

The rooms are small but u shouldn't be bothered with it because half of the time u would be on the beach this hotel has. It has private beach where u can just walk in at any time

The water over there isn't calm but u will enjoy the beach experience this hotel provides. The food was also good and did catered to vegetarian as well. The options provided for one day was good and can be improved upon

The hotel is in a great location on the beachfront, currently only about quarter of rooms available due to the others being upgraded, this has not been an issue with noise

The hotel is located on the beach front but you cannot actually go in the sea here due to the rocks. However there is a lovely secluded beach a little further to the right (approx 15 min walk along the beach)

There are a number of staff around but due to the nature of the hotel they often need to be tracked down to order a drink etc

For the beach, cross the road and walk to the left to Dalawella Beach (1km) or to the right to Unawanu Beach (500 meters). You need to take a 24-minute bus to Galle Dutch Fort. The front desk can arrange a tuk-tuk

Staff were all super friendly and professional, except one day a young restaurant worker at the dinner directly asked for money while serving you dinner, explaining his salary is small and if we can help him, very awkward! Swimming pool area is cute! Just cross the road and you can swim at the beach 🏖️ cool

The semi indoor pool was clean and well maintained with change rooms in the hotel foyer. Best to have your own beach towels, as was the case almost all over the island

The location right on the beach was perfect - a few steps around the bay to protected swimming behind the reef with turtles nudging you for a sea lettuce treat. Nearer the reef there were lots of fish, big and small

I’ve had a wonderful 4 day stay at the Sayura. The beach and ocean view from my bedroom was fantastic and the position right on the beach front was perfect. The included breakfast was plentiful and delicious

The service from all of the staff was excellent and particular thanks to Alex and Dewmini who couldn’t do enough to help. A short tuk tuk ride to the many restaurants in Unawatuna

The hotel is in wonderful place, room was spaces and clean, view was amazing. Staff wasn’t very interested in you but what asked did everything. For example to give water to clean room to give fresh towels

There are just 2 things good about this hotel rest all is very very poor. The good things is very spacious room and direct view of the beach from each and every room

I visited this place in 2012 and spent most of the mornings in the beach and later on in the pools. The people of this area are very friendly and helpful to the tourists

Sunbeds are few and they are prehistoric. The ocean is calm, waves are soft (not for surfing, swimming normal). Well, we have not stopped here. Is not implemented, the potential of the beach

The property is in front of the beach and they are building one more property on the beach itself. Now, coming to the food, the breakfast was decent. I did not see much activity in the kitchen apart from the breakfast

The pool is rather small and there is no beach at the hotel but a short stroll over the rocks or up the road takes you right there. I am still very happy with the hotel

Good for a spend a day and relax with friends. Beach is near the hotel and you can have a walk. The car park is bit small but parking can be made near the hotel

Although there is no beach access from the hotel, few minutes walk away you have a beach by yourself. The food is delicious, the rooms are specious and clean with ocean view & the bed is super comfy!

in unawatuna there is not possible to change dollars/ euros so you might like that. also you can jump to bus and go visit Galle (30 min/ 40 rupii) and change money there. Galle fort is also a Must visit same time you go

Such a joy to have a time at this place. They can take care of you without any issue, because not a lot of people. Nice view, music, sea, no hurry (even they are just next to the road, you enter and only music of a sea

for example they just run to kitchen area to make they own breakfast and kitchen door says in 15 cm large typing no own cooking and staff only. i have met only like 2/100 russian that i can deal with

We will return and are sad to leave. We had the top floor apartment. its huge! We were lulled to sleep ever night by the waves. This is right on a little beach, We had it to ourselves

the turtles are great to watch from the windows or balconies. The staff and owner couldn't be nicer. We hired a scooter from them and used their tuc tuc in the evening

There are some shops and restaurants nearby, main street in town just short ride away. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious

The Rooms are clean and View is great. there is sun beds and Hotel have direct access to beach. room cleaning is 3 days by 3days. They have different kind of breakfast. We are satisfied with our stay

Amazing location right on the beach. There are some areas in the sea that are safe for swimming and turtles on the beach right infront of the resort. They serve authentic southern Sri Lankan cuisine

Since Mihiripenna beach has a place like a sea bath that does not rumple much, so you can put your infants into water

Mihiripenna/Talpe beaches re not so crowded like Unawatuna main beach. So you can chilax your vacation here

It is right at the edge of the beach. room is clean and maintained well. but it had wardrobe, towel rack, mini refrigerator, small sofa. The balcony was right in front of the ocean

But AC was leaking water all the time parking is right at the road side so safety of vehicles can't be guaranteed. Staff is not that professional. They are more focused on foreigners not much concerned about locals

Manager was accommodating even suggested other places to eat and things to do at night. Wasn't aware if any Wi-Fi was available. Rooms with fan only are very hot

Offered a driver for a very nice rate, driver was very accommodating and even stopped for us to see a turtle hatchery

- they didn't clean our room, they just made our bed, and a smartass on staff drank a small sprite from our bar and threw the empty bottle in the trash can by the entrance (we accidentally noticed the dirty trick), and the next day we reported our "ugh!" to the manager

However, the access to the hotel itself was inconvenient, so we were transferred to the hotel minivan. The lovely receptionists greeted us warmly and quickly checked us in

The advantages of this room: hot water all the time, beautiful scenery, oneness with nature (peacocks fly from palm tree to palm tree, a family of crows lives in the rocks at the entrance to the house - we didn't bother them and they didn't bother us); monkeys visited our balcony at different times - two different flocks

The hotel provides a shuttle to the beach from 7:30 a. and picks you up in the evening. The hotel has a small stretch of beach with a cafe, bar, free sun loungers, and umbrellas. Towels are provided on the beach

We also fed the fish that live in the "aquarium" between the first and second floors with buns. The staff is polite, except for the beach boy (more on that separately)

If you need a transfer somewhere - they will order what you need at reception, they will bring you boarding passes, they will prepare breakfast for the trip (I asked for it), waiters are always present in the restaurant They hang around the vacationers
