The Rock Samui Beach Resort in Lamai Beach

The Rock is a very nice hotel in Lamai on Koh Samui.

It's located on a busy main road, but it's built into the hillside down to the sea, so you don't hear any of the road noise from the hotel or the beach.

We had a lovely room with a sea view from the small veranda.

It was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. 😊 The hotel grounds are beautifully designed and landscaped, and the pool area with its sea view is especially lovely at any time of day.

It's a bit of a walk to the large Lamai Beach and to Lamai town itself, where you'll find numerous shops and the famous night market, so we rented a scooter near the hotel.

It's not far (by scooter) to Overlap Stone.

We were able to do our laundry at the hotel for free.

The only downside was that the hotel shares the same building as a hostel, which meant that a few people were sitting and talking loudly near our room until late in the evening.

Unfortunately, we heard this in our room.

Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and we had a great stay 😊✨🌞

A quiet, romantic place with sea views, and easy to drive. There is a rocky beach in front, not a typical white sand beach, so you have to walk a little further to swim.

I would highly recommend The Rock Samui to couples or solo travelers seeking a cozy, quiet, and beautiful getaway. If you prioritize peace, natural beauty, and a personal touch over convenience and easy access to nightlife, you will absolutely love it here.

Such friendly staff! Pool area was calm and quiet - ocean breeze and waves. So peaceful!! Room was clean and the bed and pillows comfy! Great shower!! As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and comfortable at all times. And there is a cute café where you can get breakfast, light meals, and drinks.

The room is built on the rocks, giving it a unique feel. The beach is rocky and perfect for viewing, with few people disturbing you, allowing you to enjoy the sea in peace and quiet! The front desk lady was very welcoming, and the young lady was very nice.

5☆☆☆☆☆, had a great time. Villas and rooms, views spectacular. Manager Jerome, staff are friendly and very helpful. 6 nights very satisfied. Will revisit. 😁

My partner and I were extremely impressed with the place from the moment we arrived. The place is pristine and the service is excellent - particularly the manager Jerome who was polite, efficient and extremely helpful. Within minutes of arrival he had us checked in, our cases taken to our room, the air-con switched on and a moped arranged.

We had the single bedroom bungalow which had everything we needed, great air-con and was spotlessly clean. There was some minor construction and refurbishment going on, but this both began and ended at reasonable times and didn’t cause too much disturbance. The location is great, walking distance from Lamai beach but far enough to escape the noise.

The pool is salt cleaned and extremely refreshing with a great view of the quiet cove, and the free kayaks were a lovely touch, as was the complementary coffee in the mornings which the staff were happy to deliver to our room.

Amazing experience of great hospitality and Superior value for money. I have never stayed on Koh Samui with the better view before 🤩 Even during lower season you can enjoy really spectacular view and great amenities like salt water pool and fully equipped kitchen. Aircon is strong enough to also cool down the second room. Thank you so much Phillip and your family 🙏👍
