Pattra Vill Resort in Lamai Beach

First of all the location of the hotel is far from best. You get out the gate and there are drunkards everywhere, it smells of pot and is dirty and derelict.

The hotel itself is old and tatty. The breakfast is brutally bad so we skipped it. Just trying to drink the cappuccino is like being punched in the face. I did not think coffe this bad is possible. Tried the poached eggs at the breakfast. First one was nothing special. Second was clearly of si this when we just walked out.

The gusts are mostly of low quality, heavily tattooed and showing decades of alchol and substance abuse. Another indicator of the quality of the guests was that the hotel was insistent on checking the room before we left. Never such a thing happened to us.

The hotel was also ridiculously expensive for what it was. It also has 4 stars. It may be easier to get stars in Koh Samui than for central American generals.

I am happy we were there only for 2 nights in transit.

If this is the holidays you are looking for then go for it, else stay clearly away from this hotel.

Mediocre hotel in the center of Lamai - an area of Koh Samui largely ruined by prostitution and drugs. The rooms are old yet clean, however both the breakfast and facilities are well below average, especially given the high prices.

Staff was very friendly until check out - they did not allow us to get in the taxi until they had finished checking the room (which took much longer than expected given how clean it was left).
