Reviews
This is a 3-star hotel, so it’s not luxury or ultra-modern, and some parts feel a bit dated—but everything is kept in absolutely spotless condition. The cleanliness really stands out. The room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bedsheets were fresh and perfectly maintained.
What truly makes this place special is the service. The staff are incredible—friendly, helpful, and always going above and beyond. The level of care and attention we received was honestly exceptional and rare to find.
The location is perfect—right on a beautiful beach and in the center of Chaweng, which makes everything very convenient.
We didn’t try the hotel food as we keep kosher and only had fruits, so we can’t comment on that.
Also worth mentioning: there’s no real need to pay extra for higher-category rooms. The basic rooms in the main building are spacious, comfortable, and offer everything you need.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Amazing beach, outstanding service, and exceptional cleanliness. Highly recommended!
Lai, the restaurant manager, exemplifies this hospitality she is always kind and eager to help with anything I may need. The restaurant staff is equally accommodating, and no request is ever too much for them. George, Run, and Junn are wonderful individuals who have become dear friends over my many stays at the hotel. Their warm hearted nature truly makes this place special for me.
Bann Chaweng is not just a resort it is a home away from home filled with beautiful people and unforgettable memories.
The hotel’s location is the only good thing about it. The rooms are old, very basic and lack modern facilities no charging sockets near the bed, no dental kit, and poor lighting control. The resort clearly needs renovation.
The staff attitude was shocking, not welcoming, unprofessional, and often dismissive. Service felt careless throughout our stay.
Breakfast was average, and any additional request was denied. The pool is extremely small, and the beach is crowded all the time.
Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The rooms weren’t clean, ants were present, and nothing matched the expected standard for this price range. Not recommended at all.
Friendly staff whom ensured we were well taken care of.
They specially customised vegan (เจ) breakfasts for us, alongside the usual buffet line. Special thanks to Khun Woo, and Khun Lai, who are very attentive to our requests.
The resort is in the midst of a partial progressive renovation which we were told estimated to complete in Nov 2025 before starting the next phase.
Didn't cause much disruption as we were mostly at the beach in the day
Several aspects of the hotel were disappointing and left us feeling frustrated throughout our time there.
We checked in to the hotel at 20:00 and were immediately greeted by an unclean room, with towels on the floor, unflushed toilet and sand on the floor. It took the staff about 30 minutes to clean the room, which was very unwelcoming.
At this point, we just wanted to take a shower and call it a day, however, the nightmare continued. Instantly after turning on the water at the shower, a strong sewage smell appeared which made the already unpleasant experience unbearable.
The next morning, we wanted to give this hotel another chance, so we moved to a different room. Upon moving, we were greeted by dozens of mosquitoes in the new room, what a pleasant surprise. Moreover, the safe was not working and the soap dispenser was broken.
To our disappointment, the strong sewage smell was present in this room as well, which made us believe that this was a ‘hotel’ problem and not a single problematic room.
It should be noted that throughout our stay, the staff was very unwelcoming and super unhelpful.
They were very obvious when explaining the fines for losing the room key (1000 baht), or the towel card (200 for a piece of paper?!).
However, apparently trying to help their guests is beyond their job description.
Do yourself a favor and find a different hotel. There are plenty of places with similar location and price. Do not repeat our mistake.

The place is much older and run down than in the photo
Room is clean but the MUSTY DAMP smell everywhere.
Corridor is exactly what you have in a student hall … very old, smell and run down.
Location is right next to Central shopping mall - convenient for those who wants to go to shopping mall.
Reception is unfriendly with an unwelcoming look.
Not worth the almost 5 stars review
The room were clean, the bed was really comfortable in my opinion and they offered daily room service. There was only one big disadvantage for me, the air condition only works when the room key is in the room. So every time you leave the room, the air is standing, really warm and smelling really bad also because of the toilet paper in the trash, ...
Another problem with the room was that the a few towels had stains on them.
All in all we really liked the stay, if you want to close to the center this is the perfect Hotel.
Tipp: Ask for a room in the 2. house out of 3, because there is the rooftop pool and the laundry room.
It was very bad. The walls are so thin, that I was woken up a couple of times because my neighbors were talking loud.
In the room are two very bright blue LEDs. They are so bright, that the room is not dark at all. It's blue. I tried to cover them with a towel which worked so so ok. On the ceiling there is a smoke detector, which is very good, but it has a blinking led light as well, very annoying in the dark as well.
My Rest factor was very low. Everything else of the stay was ok.
Simple rooms, clean, well presented with minimal extras. A great place to stay if you don't intend on being inside the room much, as the room is very plain and has no balcony or view.
Very good location at Samui Central. Room was quiet, clean, comfortable beds and pillows. 5 minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes drive to the airport.
Housekeeping staff and staff working at the front desk were friendly, helpful and welcoming.
