We recently stayed at this hotel and it absolutely exceeded our expectations in every way. The entire property is filled with beautiful, photogenic spots, there are many Instagrammable locations around every corner. What truly made our stay special was the exceptional and friendly staff who consistently went out of their way to help us, even assisting in organizing a tour. We dined at both restaurants on site and enjoyed delicious food in spacious, comfortable settings. The location is perfect: it's just a calm and easy 10-15 minute walk to Karon Beach, with two 7-Eleven stores conveniently located along the way. Furthermore, the hotel's efficient transport service, with golf carts always available to drive you to any point within the property, added great convenience. We would give it a solid 10 out of 10 and will definitely choose this hotel again when we return to Phuket.

Mandarin Oriental Phuket is truly a hidden gem near Karon Beach! Tucked away in a tropical hillside garden, it boasts lush greenery and a fantastic ambiance. There are five or six pools scattered throughout, and stepping out of a poolside room brings you right to the shimmering water. Enjoying a cocktail at the floating bar is incredibly relaxing. The rooms are spacious and clean with a scenic balcony, and some offer distant sea views. The bedding is comfortable, and the bathrooms are luxurious, with meticulous daily cleaning. The breakfast buffet is incredibly diverse, offering authentic Thai and Western flavors. The staff even kindly provides welcome drinks, and there's a surprise small cake for birthdays. Although it's about a 10-minute walk with some uphill sections to Karon Beach, the hotel offers a regular shuttle service, making getting around super convenient. Plus, you can catch stunning sunset sea views along the way. The hotel's spa and gym facilities are well-equipped; the Thai massage is incredibly stress-relieving. The staff are consistently warm and friendly, patiently assisting even with slight language barriers, creating an overall superb vacation experience! The only minor drawbacks are the numerous stairs on the hillside, which might not be ideal for older guests with mobility issues, and the air conditioning in some areas could be stronger. However, these don't detract from the overall experience at all. I highly recommend it for honeymooning couples or friends traveling together – once you check in, you won't want to leave!

Extremely satisfied! The resort's environment and rooms are beautiful. The staff were very friendly towards Chinese guests. I regret not staying a few more days. Plus, the hotel has its own water purifier, so the water quality is quite good.

The room was very clean, but the bedsheets had some stains and weren't washed thoroughly. The staff were very polite, proactively helped with luggage, and their smiling service was excellent.

Absolutely beautiful! The sunset restaurant at the hotel has amazing views and the food is really good, plus it's not too expensive. Even in the middle of the night, if you order takeout, the staff will deliver it right to your door. The service attitude is excellent, with smiles all around. Just a heads up, make sure you remember how to get back to your room, or you'll end up getting lost like we did, haha!

We had a fantastic stay at Mandarava Resort in Phuket. The hotel definitely feels more luxurious and is set beautifully on the side of a hill, which gives you some brilliant views across the area. Because of the hillside setting there are quite a few steep roads and plenty of stairs around the resort, but that’s also part of what gives it its character.
One of the highlights was the choice of pools — there are five different pools around the resort, so you can easily find a quieter spot to relax. The Thai restaurant at the hotel was fantastic; we enjoyed it so much we went back for a second visit. Breakfast was also excellent with a huge selection of food each morning.
The location is great, with plenty nearby, and it’s only about a 30-minute trip into Bangla where we went to watch Thai boxing — definitely worth doing if you’re visiting the area. It’s a lively, bigger town with some amazing restaurants as well.
When we visited it was around 35°C most days, so we usually grabbed a tuk-tuk down to the beach rather than walking in the heat. The staff throughout the resort were great and always willing to help with any request, which made the stay even better.
Our room was very comfortable with a massive bathroom, great shower, and good quality shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable for a good night’s sleep.
The only small negative was that occasionally there was a bit of a sewage smell near one of the pools we liked to use, but aside from that everything else about the stay was excellent.
Overall we had a brilliant stay and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a more luxurious resort experience in Phuket.

A wonderful place for couples. The hotel created such a beautiful atmosphere that made our honeymoon even more special. The room was perfectly prepared with lovely details that immediately made us smile.

I highly recommend this hotel. The location is away from the noise streets. You are feeding yourself like in resort. The area is very green. The breakfast is perfect, many fruits. We enjoyed our stay at this place!

I stayed for four consecutive nights. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay in the same room type for the entire duration because it wasn't available.
On the last night, in the Horizon room, I found dozens of dead flying insects all over the room – on my clothes, the coffee table, the floor, and even the bedsheets. It severely impacted my experience.
I immediately contacted the front desk. The staff said they would send someone to clean up the insect corpses and also informed me that the hotel had placed a 'seasonal pest statement' in the room beforehand, implying it was a normal occurrence. However, this was not disclosed when I made the reservation. This feels like withholding information and shifting the risk onto the guest.
Although the cleaning staff cooperated and tidied up, the issue wasn't fully resolved. I still had to deal with insects on my clothes and bath towels myself. I'm giving two stars for the staff's attitude, but the hotel's inaction is very disappointing. Those who are bothered by insects should definitely reconsider staying here.
