Sovereign Group Hotel in Bangkok

Please, for your own good, avoid this hotel at all costs! It's clear they don't lack guests, but don't subject yourself to this terrible experience. I used to pick this hotel every time I came to Bangkok, but the service and environment have gone downhill significantly. This time, I was given a room on the sixth floor – yes, you heard that right, the sixth floor. The elevator only goes up to the fifth, so you have to lug your bags up a flight of stairs. It felt like a makeshift, perhaps even illegal, extension. Inside the room, there was a strange odor, the bed was incredibly hard, and the soundproofing was non-existent. I could hear everything from the neighbors showering to... well, other noises. I immediately complained to the front desk and asked for a room change, but all I got was a curt "Today full, come back tomorrow" before they just walked away. The next day, because I had extended my stay, I asked again for a lower-floor room. Again, I was met with the same disdainful "Today full, just today full." Am I just supposed to put up with a noisy, poorly soundproofed room with a rock-hard bed? The hotel staff just brushed me off, giving me an attitude of "take it or leave it." In the end, I requested a refund from Trip.com and moved to a different hotel. This place is on my blacklist forever. If you're traveling to Bangkok, please, for the sake of your trip, avoid this hotel. A good night's rest is crucial for any traveler, and a bad one can ruin the rest of your itinerary and mood. This place is absolute garbage. So sad. And it's rated an 8.5, a recommended three-star hotel? The price is three-star, but the service is worse than trash. Seriously, don't fall for the photos!
