However, the downsides are also pretty clear: the facilities are old, there's a persistent humming noise that I couldn't pinpoint, and a lack of power outlets. The area around the hotel entrance is heavily congested, so getting a taxi usually means a 15-minute wait. There aren't many restaurants or massage places nearby, though you can walk to the Ratchadamnoen Boxing Stadium in about 10 minutes. Despite my request, I wasn't given an end room. The hotel staff seemed more enthusiastic towards Western guests, and the breakfast was mediocre – definitely not worth paying extra for if it's not included.
