Ama's House Luxury Boutique Hotel in Chiang Mai City

I wish I could write a better review, but unfortunately Ama's house was pretty disappointing. Rooms clean and good sized, but bad sewer smell in shower would come and go throughout or stay. Check out process frustrating because staff very reluctant to take QR scan (which everyone in Thailand takes) or credit card at checkout, stating because our bill was for less than 1000THB (I have never heard of this in thailand). And, this is the only hotel where I have been asked for the disposable plastic keys on check out. While our taxi was waiting go to the airport the staff asked that we check our luggage (packed in taxi) and up in our room for the keys (we were one short). This was surprising because, these were not metal keys, they are the plastic ones that are programmed at check in. Since this is so unusual (to request them at check out) I wish they would at least tell you or post a sign that says you must turn them in at check (rather then in every other hotel where you just leave them in the room). I also felt the rooms were very overpriced. Definitely not a "5 star" hotel. Would not stay here unless no other options or price lowers to fit the quality.
