Viangluang Resort in Chiang Mai City

Beautiful grounds and room. Lovely and quiet. Perfect for couples

We loved our stay at the Viangluang resort with two minor exceptions: 1. The water did not mix well in the shower so we either got scorching hot water or cold. Warm water was very hard to achieve and required constant moving of the shower knob. 2. We were placed on the third floor and there were no elevators. So we had to walk up 3 flights of steps. Most of the times it wasn't a problem with the exception of when we came exhausted from a whole day of exploring Chiang Mai and/or when we forgot something in the room and had to return to get the item. My husband is 60 years old and it was a bit of a challenge at times. Perhaps we could have asked to change the room to a floor below but we didn't. 3. The water in the pool was freezing cold and almost no one could enable swim in it. Other than that we loved our stay! The breakfast was great, the room was  beautifully decorated and clean. The pool was charming but very cold. The service and attention to detail was outstanding! I would recommend it and stay there again if we could have a 1st or 2nd story room and water in the shower was working well.

The hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of the old city. It has a pool and rooms with balconies, and the overall environment and exterior are quite beautiful. However, the room facilities are a bit old, especially the air conditioning and refrigerator which are very noisy and really disturb sleep 💤! The duvet also isn't very new. I hope they can improve the room facilities...

Hotel is great but the bathroom need to be refurbished…old and dated. Overall the hotel offers comfort and privacy for a wonderful vacation. Thanks to all hotel staff for our stay.

Great location and staff, but cleanliness needs improvement.
Overall, Viangluang is a decent hotel with a fantastic location. The staff were very nice and helpful throughout our stay. If you are looking for good value for money and don't prioritize luxury, this is a solid choice.
However, there are some areas that need attention:
• Cleanliness: It wasn't amazing; we noticed some stains on the towels and bed sheets.
• Shower: The water pressure was inconsistent (fluctuating between strong and weak), and the showerhead seemed partially clogged.
• Breakfast: It was quite average and basic.
Bottom line: Good option for budget-conscious travelers who want a great location, but don't expect a high-end experience.

This is a beautiful little hotel in Chiang Mai city. The grounds are a tiny little oasis full of trees and plants inside the city. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the staff is wonderful.

The hotel has a small pool.

Breakfast is mostly Thai food (noodles, congee, fresh fruit, stir fried vegetables) and they also had toast, juice, and ham and sausages and yogurt. Everything was delicious.

My wife and I thought the hotel was quite lovely and romantic.
