Amaka Bed & Breakfast in Chiang Mai City

Really bad experience. The room has a water pump right in front of it and it was really loud. Couldn’t sleep, stayed only 1 of the 3 nights booked. When we asked for a room change they said it’s full,ok. So we want to change the hotel and get a refund. „Refund not possible“. We moved out in the morning. Then had some issues because we booked through booking and they booked through Agoda - but in the end it was cancelled by the hotel so props to them.

In the video you can hear the noise. This was the „terrace“ of the room.

The bed was actually comfortable and other things are ok too. it’s such a shame with the noise…

Update: I have called with them and apparently the pump was broken and repaired. Please just put in a bit more effort when I complain about it at first and try to see what’s wrong instead of just saying there is no other room…

We booked a three-night stay here, but couldn't sleep because the water pump was blaring all night. In the morning, we asked to change rooms, but they said they didn't have a room for us and couldn't fix it. We checked out at 9 a.m. and requested a refund for the remaining two nights, but they refused. I then contacted booking.com, who told me to contact them again, but we tried five times without success. I don't recommend staying here.

Staffs are friendly, services are good, room is average, but I didn’t like I have to take out shoes in front of staircase that leads to rooms. Also, the room’s door has space that can see inside room, so my wife felt unsecured. Also, even though card key is required to enter the hotel, there is no staff at night. If something happens, you are on your own… having breakfast is good which made me happy, but overall, room rate is a bit too high considering all negative things I mentioned.
