Viang Thapae Resort in Chiang Mai City

Great hotel with a superb location. My wife and I spent 6 days here to explore Chiang Mai and had no issues whatsoever. We never tried the breakfast though, as we explored the city instead.

We booked all our trips through the hotel which worked out flawlessly.

The location for us was perfect. The hotel itself is in a more quiet street but just a few minutes by foot to reach both the Phae Gate and the close by stores but in the other direction it's just as far to get to the night Bazar.

My wife and I stayed in early December and were very happy with our experience at Viang Thapae! The Manager was very helpful upgrading our room after we arrived! It is beautiful little oasis just outside the Old City. The location is perfect for walking in the area! Mon was our local tuk tuk driver. We found him right outside our hotel. He was fantastic ! He took us everywhere we couldn’t walk! Chiang Mai is amazing, and will back to Viang Thapae!

The facilities are simply wonderful, surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful environment that makes the whole experience truly relaxing. The swimming pools are stunning and very well maintained — perfect for unwinding at any time of the day.
The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, always going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel at home straight away.
Another detail we really appreciated was that the amenities were replenished every single day, including coffee and Thai tea in the room, which was such a nice touch.
If there was one small suggestion, it would be to add a few more hooks or hangers in the room for towels and swimwear — this would make it even more convenient. But honestly, that is just a minor detail compared to the overall wonderful experience.
We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Chiang Mai, and we would love to come back ourselves.

Clean rooms, nice staff, great welcome service. The pool is clean, the atmosphere is very good.
