Ege Palas Business Hotel in Izmir

The main reason for the low rate is the annoying stench from a drain in the bathroom and the disgusting shower cabin. Hardly acceptable for one night, even more for four nights but the hotel was fully booked, I was told. A very average breakfast. All in all, poor experience for ＞200 euros per night.

I stayed at Ege Palas Business Hotel in Izmir and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially if you value your time, comfort, and sanity. 1. Unstable Internet: First of all, the internet here is beyond frustrating. It constantly disconnects, and when it does work, it's painfully slow. I couldn't even send an email without having to wait for ages, let alone get any actual work done. It's a business hotel, but the Wi-Fi situation is an absolute joke. 2. Stinky Rooms: The room smelled like an ashtray. Even though I specifically requested a non-smoking room, it was clear that smoking is still happening indoors here. The stench of stale cigarette smoke was unbearable, and it lingered throughout my stay. I tried to air out the room, but it didn’t help at all. Definitely not the clean and fresh environment you expect from a "business hotel." 3. Slow Elevator: The elevator is another issue. It takes forever to arrive, and when it does, it feels like it’s about to break down at any moment. I ended up walking up and down the stairs because the elevator was so unreliable and sluggish. It’s not a good look for a place that claims to cater to business travelers. 4. Subpar Food: And don’t even get me started on the food. The breakfast is nothing more than a sad buffet of tasteless, low-quality options. I barely found anything edible, and what I did was underwhelming at best. If you’re hoping for a decent meal, you’re better off looking elsewhere. In summary, I can’t believe I wasted my time and money here. Ege Palas is in desperate need of an overhaul—better internet, cleaner rooms, faster elevators, and food that doesn’t feel like it was thrown together as an afterthought. Stay away!

Needs renovation
The hotel needs renovation as soon as possible. The bathroom has a most annoying stench.
The staff are however nice and hospitable.

I wouldn't recommend.....
Not the best stay. The staff were nice, but the room could have been cleaner and everything is very dated. Breakfast was disappointing given the options that other business hotels typically provide. The gym in particular was in a very sad state, most of the equipment is broken and the available floor space was filled with broken slabs of marble on rolling metal platforms.
