The City Palace Hotel in Istanbul

Very Very Very bad experience the employee is not good enough you don't feel welcome or comfortable it's so bad the restrooms are dirty and smells bad the bed sheets should be cleaner and over all not recommended

The employees are so bad, they are literally firing them, it's incredible. the rooms were nice

So, where to start? By asking them to go clean the house perhaps? Or recommend a hotel school otherwise... To sum up, we stayed three nights in this hotel, which is only a hotel in name... Located at the beginning of a small street on the edge of the ring road, we were able to enjoy the gentle, uninterrupted hum of Istanbul traffic. Upon arrival, we were assigned a room with an unmade bed, dirty sheets, and ashtrays overflowing with cigarette butts. A room allocation error, it happens... so we get our room back. The bed is made, the bathroom seems clean. I say seems because upon closer inspection, the previous tenant left a few drops of pee on the toilet and used up almost all the toilet paper. Luckily, the maid is upstairs. Versatile, she holds her broom in one hand, her phone in the other, and between two chats retrieves the clean laundry from the supermarket trolley which is waiting patiently in the corridor... we ask her for toilet paper, she doesn't have any... We go down to the reception, uh, in the entrance rather... two people at the reception who only speak Turkish... translator in hand we ask what time and where breakfast will be. Answer in your room at 10am!!!! Finally breakfast will arrive at 10:45am in a plastic bag containing a plastic box also whose contents looked so much like airplane meals (laughing cow cheese, tomato slices, cold sausage...) in short, no go to this splendid meal which deserves three stars in the "super disgusting" guide. To conclude, during the three nights of our stay, the cleaning lady will completely ignore our room. We'll make our own bed, empty our own trash, and clean our own bathroom... It's strange to be called a "palace suite" and be so poorly run, but perhaps it's just a mistake in the title: "Salacious Suite" would have been more appropriate...
