Valide Sultan Konagi in Istanbul

Our room was on the 3rd floor, with a magnificent view of the sea and Topkapi. Although small, it was cozy and had everything we needed, enough space for two people with large suitcases. There was a closet, slippers, and all the toiletries. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows. We slept very well, and it was quiet in the evenings and early mornings, which isn't always the case in Istanbul. We'd lived in other areas before and often had trouble sleeping due to street noise, but that wasn't the case here. The hosts were very warm and welcoming, accommodating our requests, providing a kettle with boiling water and tea upon request (there's no kettle or tea in the room), and treated us to delicious Turkish tea after a long journey. Breakfast was good, and the timing was convenient—it was until 10:30 if you suddenly needed a good night's sleep. The shower was excellent, large, with strong water pressure and always hot water. Thanks to the hosts. What could be improved and what isn't: they don't provide drinking water in the room and there are no tea making facilities. Add a shower head with a hose (currently there's only an overhead rain shower, which isn't always convenient).

The hotel is very, very clean.. remarkably clean.. The service is excellent. The staff are very friendly.. The location is excellent.. The hotel is perfect..

Charming hotel in an extraordinary location, literally steps away from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Friendly and attentive staff provided excellent service and top tips for enjoying the center of Istanbul.

Lovely breakfast served on the top floor with a panoramic view of the city and sea. Easy walking distance to numerous restaurants, shops and markets. Highly recommended.

We fall in love with this hotel. The actual room were ok very clean a bit small but cozy. But the people who work there are incredible. Some of the kindness warmest people I ever meet. After staying there for a week they became like a family to us. My kids were so in love with employees that they didn't want to leave to be Honest. None of us wanted to leave. We wanted to stay in that place forever. Location was also great evening near by. And the owner was very kind sweet men. He let my son sing and dance for him for a good hour lol I don't know many people who can seat and watch 5 year old 😅 singing and dancing for an hour with a smile and clapping for him and telling him how incredible he was and my son left that hotel thinking he is a local start lol. My kids didn't stop talking about this place in till next year when we go back. Truly my favorite place in istanbul.

The location of the hotel is really great. It should be the closest hotel to Hagia Sophia. There is a temporary parking lot at the door which is also the closest parking lot to the cathedral. Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Obelisk, Basilica Cistern, and the Old Royal Palace are all within a few minutes' walk. It is also very close to the bustling commercial street, light rail station and Grand Bazaar. It is only a ten-minute walk to the cruise terminal. Minutes away from countless restaurants and shops. We stayed for three days, walked around various attractions in the old town, and took the light rail to Galata Tower in the new town.

The exterior of the hotel is a small red building with a beautiful small yard. The lobby is small and elegant, and there is a small elevator, which saves you the trouble of carrying luggage upstairs.

The fourth floor is a beautiful restaurant with a 270-degree view. The sunrise is right in front of you, and the Sophia Church and the Blue Mosque are just around the corner, shining in the morning light. In the early morning when there are no tourists yet, whether viewed from a distance or up close, those ancient historical buildings show incomparable solemnity and beauty.

There are not many types of breakfast, but it is exquisite, has everything you need and tastes delicious.

Of course there are disadvantages. Due to the limited size of the hotel, the rooms are very small. There is no free bottled water in the room, and there is no kettle (after checking out, I asked the front desk guy and I learned that if you need to boil water, you can ask the front desk for a kettle). The facilities are also relatively old, but the hygiene is up to standard.

For such a hotel with an excellent location and a quiet location, the price is certainly not cheap. It all depends on your requirements for cost-effectiveness!

All in all, it is a highly recommended hotel in Istanbul's old town.

It was a good experience overall, especially with the location close to the Hagia Sophia.
