I stayed there for 4 nights. The service was excellent, and the breakfast was even better — especially with the beautiful view. I looked forward to it every morning.

The location was great — it was just a 10-minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. On both sides of the street, there were many restaurants. The staff outside tried to invite me in every time I walked by, which I didn’t like — but I guess that’s quite normal in Istanbul.

The neighborhood had several small hotels and a noticeable police presence, including surveillance patrols. It felt a bit unusual, but I assume it's related to the nearby construction sites — which are everywhere at the moment. Hopefully, the area will improve in the future.

The staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I forgot to tip them because I was busy with other things on the day of my flight.

The room was okay — a bit too small, and the hood and air conditioning were quite loud.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would definitely come again.

I had a wonderful stay at Almina Hotel! The location was perfect for exploring Istanbul. What truly made my experience special was the staff – they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made me feel very welcome. The breakfast was also delicious, with plenty of variety to start the day in the best way with beautiful view over the blue mosque. I can warmly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Istanbul.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was far from what I expected. I had a look at all the positive reviews and fell for the trap!! From the start, the staff displayed a poor attitude and were largely unwilling to assist with even basic requests. I had to ask four separate times before my room was finally cleaned, which was incredibly frustrating. Housekeeping seemed disorganized and unresponsive.

The rooms themselves were quite small and the air conditioning was unreliable—sometimes it worked, other times it didn’t, which made it hard to get comfortable. Noise was another major issue, with loud passing train and outside noises at all hours.

The food was average at best—not terrible, but nothing memorable either. There weren’t many standout positives, and overall, the hotel just didn’t meet expectations for comfort or service. Be wary about getting any prices weather for laundry, taxis etc the reception guys stick on there own comission depending on how they feel!! Shockingly got my laundry done from one of the guys who advised its approx 240TL per kg after couple days i dropped more laundry off as the guy was night shift we now had a lady at desk who said it would be 380TL per kg until confronted and then advised oh he obviously uses a different place!!! Plz be really careful they are all out to mug u, same with taxi fares its changes so much pending on who's at the desk best you outsource everything yourselves avoid booking anything directly with hotel. For the same amount of money I could have easily gotten a better hotel and room and regret not doing so!! Definitely would not recommend just isint worth all the stress and hassle.

Things to improve:

Staff training on customer service

More responsive housekeeping

Better maintenance of air conditioning units

Improved soundproofing

Stop mugging your guests!!!

Final conclusion 100% There are definitely better options out there. I wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend it to others.

One of the best hotels we have been to. Very nice, kind and helpful staff, the manger, the reception, the waiters. very clean rooms, amazing breakfast with a nice view. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.
I hope if it was more than 5 stars to give them.

Pro’s: Best feature is location, statisfying breakfast and on most occasions helpfull staff. Reception helpfull for questions, arranging booking and taxi’s, also open 24/7

Cons: bad/no wifi connection in the room, loud at night/morning. Also the aircon was loud. Did not feel 100% clean, especially bathroom.

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was really a pleasant experience. The bed was big just the room a little small. Also if you are a bit bigger - the shower is very small (at least it was in my room).
The rooftop was very nice and breakfast good.
The staff was very polite and friendly.
It is a great location if you want to walk around by foot in the old town but be aware sometimes roads are steep. 😉

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Almina Hotel with my family during our trip in Istanbul.
Everything there was just so perfect! The rooms were spacious, modern, clean and had functioning AC.
There were endless breakfast options, which were a real treat; as I was able to still eat things that wouldn’t affect my gluten or celiac dietary issues.
The staff at Almina hotel were amazing. Vedat in particular went above and beyond to ensure that me and my family were taken care of and had everything we needed during our stay. He was extremely attentive and helpful, we all really appreciated all his help.
The location of the hotel is fantastic; it’s less than a 10 minute walk to the Blue Mosque & less than a 15 minute walk to Hagia Sophia. Not to mention, it’s super close to numerous restaurants and bazaars.
Highly highly recommend!
We hope to be back soon! ☺️

Very clean, very good service, very good breakfast. We visited in the summer, and you have great view onto the sea side. If you are a person of weak sleeps the nearby train might affect you negatively.

Came here in an emergency. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I stood in 2 different rooms, they were clean but the bathrooms had mold. Impossible to have a good nights sleep in the hotel. The first room was in the basement and the whole room shook like an earthquake when the train passed by which is every 10mins starting at 5-6am. The second room was on the first floor, opposite side of the train, you still can hear the train but didn’t feel the vibrations. The windows aren’t sound proof so you hear everything that is happening outside. It’s as if the windows are wide open.

The hotel is located in the old town, you can quickly get to various points of interest.
The room was fine in terms of cleanliness, but there is a deduction caused that the room was in the basement. There was only a little window, which you could not reach... The bed was against the wall on one side (felt like a teenager).
Regarding the quiet, which was described, the train runs every 10 min... which you can feel, if you laying on the bed

Breakfast is offered as a buffet on the roof terrace. The personnel is very friendly and courteous.
