Reviews
+ Good location
+ Breakfast bread is sometimes delicious.
+ Pleasant cleaning lady
Average: The bed is ok, but the pillows aren't very comfortable.
Cons:
- There's a constant smell of cigarettes, even in the room. It's not coming from the street, but from the hotel. I don't smoke, and it makes me sick. I couldn't sleep at night because it was so bad. We investigated the problem, and it turned out to be coming from the internal staircase because ours had a large hole in the doorway. We came to ask for a room or to have the problem fixed, but we were told there were no rooms for the room you were staying in, we could upgrade you to a room with a lower standard and we wouldn't compensate you (they don't know if a repairman will come). We moved because it was impossible to breathe.
- Breakfast: nothing special. I read reviews that said it was filling, but monotonous. The sausages and hot dogs are like you'd feel bad feeding cats—something ground up. The yogurt is okay, but after two hours of breakfast, it seems a bit sour. The cheese is weird; I tried it once and that's it. The bread is occasionally fresh, so it's delicious. I only had yogurt with honey and eggs.
- You CANNOT sit outside on the hotel grounds in the evening. They say it's a cafe and you have to either buy something or leave. (Only at breakfast, but we didn't check; we sat indoors. The most interesting thing is that there are no guests and all the tables are empty.)
- The tram runs constantly, but it becomes a background noise.
- The water pressure is questionable; the water can simply disappear at times and then reappear a few minutes later.
- Some window handles are broken.
- The WiFi can be intermittent in the evening due to heavy usage.
Overall:
The location is good, but it's not designed for people. I'll consider a different hotel next time.
(1 room where we lived, the second where we moved to so that it wouldn't smell like cigarettes (p.s. the second room also smelled, but at least the windows saved it)
You get what you pay for. Very sparse room. 'Tired' best describes it but it was clean and the restaurant downstairs served decent food. The location is fabulous with shopping and dining on your doorstep and a tram stop and all sights less than 10 minutes walk. Breakfast buffet was laughably bad.
It was a good value hotel above a restaurant. Pros are that it is moments from Gulhane tramstop in the heart of the tourist district; it's surprisingly quiet considering its location. Check in was slow with one of our two rooms not ready for 45 minutes. Safe was anything but (you could just pick it up) and one fridge not clean. Beds were firm and comfortable a d air con worked albeit noisy. Breakfast was very basic, coffee machine temperamental but the staff were friendly. Would we recommend? Depends entirely on your budget. If you value location and price over amenities then definitely.
Comfortable bed, warm shower and working A/C.
Rooms are a little dated but everything is functioning.
Breakfast can be very scarce if you come towards the end.
only location wise perfect. Not up to expectation and not family friendly. We have been travelling and staying at many hotels but if we get chance to travel there again we will book another hotel.
