I stayed at Nippon Hotel during the end of the year and New Year period. The hotel was fully booked, including many families, yet the overall experience was very good.
The service was excellent, the room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and it fully matched my expectations. Housekeeping and staff support were professional and responsive.
Breakfast offered a good variety of options, and if something was not available, the staff were willing to accommodate special requests, which was appreciated.
The location of the hotel is also very convenient, with easy access to exchange offices, supermarkets, restaurants, and shisha cafés. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
I wish the hotel continued success.

The room layout is quite reasonable; although the furnishings are a bit old, they are well-maintained. The staff are friendly and the complimentary bottled water was a pleasant surprise. My main complaint is that on my second stay, the air conditioning couldn't be adjusted – one room was too cold, and the other too hot. This was not an issue during my first stay, as the AC in that room worked perfectly. I also noticed a difference in cleanliness: the rooms cleaned by the female staff were spotless, whereas in the rooms cleaned by male staff, I found red lipstick or other residue on the bathroom hairdryer, indicating it wasn't properly cleaned. Breakfast was decent, nothing special but acceptable. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance to the airport shuttle stops for both airports. There's also a Japanese restaurant directly across from the hotel, a good option if you're tired of Korean BBQ.

Nippon hotel is located conveniently in the Taksim square. They had an efficient check in process and staff were really helpful.
I would recommend booking this hotel especially if using the Havaist bus to airport. The hotel is 2 min walk from the bus stop!

The hotel is right next to the Havabus Taksim terminal, which makes getting to the airport super convenient. The facilities aren't the newest and look a bit dated, but the excellent location makes up for it. Breakfast is just okay; it feels like most items are pre-packaged or frozen. There was a gray dessert on the dessert island that tasted a bit like our Dragon's Beard candy, which was pretty good. Nothing else really stood out. You can ask the staff for a freshly made omelette. There's a Migros supermarket next to the hotel, so you can grab some local black tea, coffee, or dried fruits as souvenirs before you leave.

On the first night, I complained to the hotel because I couldn’t sleep due to the heat (in winter time), I was tired then. They were unable to fix the air conditioner, and next morning I asked to change rooms. They moved us to another room that is smaller, for four people, but with better air conditioning. This means I paid for a Family Deluxe room of 35 m² but had to stay in a room of about 20 m². This experience is bad.
I have stayed at three other hotels in Turkey during this trip, and all of them were good. Only Nippon Hotel made my holiday incomplete. I really regret choosing Nippon Hotel; if I had read other guests’ reviews on Google more carefully, I would not have made this booking.

Check-in was smooth, the room was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Istanbul.

But the bathroom was tiny.
And in winter, aircon is off. Room was too hot. Receptionist advised to open window but we were worried about insects, the crawling ones. None present in the room.
Luckily, we were offered a standing fan that improved slightly the situation.

I also would like to add that breakfasts in the hotel.were very nutritious and generous. Restaurant is a big plus too. Will be happy to return to Istanbul and to stay in Nippon Hotel again.
