Uh, the hotel went bankrupt a few days before our trip so we had to go elsewhere. We first received an email from Marriott that they were no longer partnering with Sonder. We emailed Sonder to see if we would still be able to go. No response. Few days later was informed that the company filed for bankruptcy. Sad, we had a lovely stay in Chicago last year and was hoping to duplicate the experience in Boston.

Absolutely disappointing stay!
For the price I paid, I expected much better. The room was tiny with small windows that let in freezing air — by the next morning, we both had sore throats from the draft. The towels were dirty, the only “toiletry” provided was a tiny piece of soap instead of proper shower gel, and parking was a complete nightmare.

To make things worse, at 8 a.m. we were woken up by the housekeeper vacuuming right outside our door. I’ve stayed in other hotels from this franchise before and always had a good experience, but this one was a total disappointment

The room was ok however we were disappointed with the kitchen amenities. The TV didn't work so we contacted them the next morning via their app to be told that it works fine but takes few minutes to start and unfortunately nobody could take a look at it today...what a load of nonsense.......there is no signal. I suspect they were aware of this before we checked in and are taking no responsibility. I wouldn't recommend this place as the only communication with customer service is via their app, and it is very poor.

Good: Great location Gorgeous architecture Lovely patio outback where you can eat food/ hangout Otherwise, at least in our room (34), we were pretty crowded for a group of 4. The pull out bed was pretty uncomfortable. We tried to adjust temperature, and while it worked the first day, we used the chat app to request assistance to reset air to no response. There is no housekeeping. No bodywash. You had to get your own towels and refill your own toilet paper. Towels were accumulating in the room and it felt messy. Bedroom extremely small. But if you want to be in a gorgeous area, this is the place.

Awful. Not provided with room paid for & are refusing to compensate for it Housekeeping is $50 per clean. Room was dirty. No one onsite during 4 night stay. Unresponsive online chat Not a hotel no front desk no amenities not even a serviced apt

Lovely spot! Our room was in a beautiful historic house in Back Bay. Very Henry James! It and the bathroom, though small, were well decorated and very comfortable, especially with the added kitchenette. Commonwealth Ave is a gorgeous location and we were only one block from the shops and restaurants on Newbury street with many other attractions within walking distance. A very short walk away is the $3 shuttle to Logan Airport. It would have scored 5 stars if the room was a bit bigger and offered laundry facilities.

The digital check in and access was much smoother than I expected and it was helpful to use the lockers in the entrance hall before the room was available. The shared kitchen and seating areas downstairs are a nice touch and well-decorated. Our room was ready before check in, but we were only able to access it if we paid extra (which we just could not justify). For international travellers staying for several nights I think a complimentary early check in (where available) would go a very long way. The room had everything we needed and would have had a nice view of the beautiful Back Bay neighbourhood if the window wasn’t so incredibly dirty (from the outside: the room was clean on the inside). The bathroom door handle was broken so I reported this via the app immediately. The fridge in our room was incredibly noisy the first night but we asked for it to be turned off/fixed and the next two nights were better. The lift was right next to our room and it’s quite noisy, as were some of the other guests that used it. As there is no 24h reception there’s no one to really monitor the noise level in the shared areas. All staff we came into contact with were friendly and you can’t fault the location of this accommodation. With some more attention to detail it could be a much better experience. As is, I would give three stars in terms of value for money.

Great location in Back Bay, one short block from Newbury Street. Has more of a local neighborhood feel. If you like old historic buildings, this is for you! (Bed and bathrooms are modern.) Close to shopping. Close to metro to downtown.

Our first stay at a Sonder property, 284 Commonwealth, was excellent: clean, comfortable, convenient, and quiet. We appreciated the complete complement of comfortable furnishings, linens, kitchenette, closeting, and supplies…even a Homedics sleep helper. And the thoughtful blend of classic architecture with contemporary decor was very enjoyable. We had everything we needed and more. Thank you for this introduction to a new way to stay. For our next Boston visit we plan to book at the Sonder facility at 907 Main in Cambridge.

We had an amazing time at Back Bay with bartender Michelle. We are from out of town and their dollar oysters brought us in, but michelle kept us there. The eggs Benedict was our choice of breakfast and we were very satisfied! We come back every year for christmas, this will definitely be a staple in our trip.

The ultimate thingy with chicken and waffles (I can't remember what it's called exactly) was great and a good amount to share; the avocado toast was delicious. However, the California Benedict was disappointing in terms of taste. We also had a devil of a time getting some syrup. But the atmosphere is so good that I had to still give 4 stars.

I have not seen better service in Boston. The food was whatever but the drinks were amazing. I got a Rosemary drink and it was literally like Christmas in a glass (not the cinnamon kind but the fresh tree kind). The coffee is reasonable as well. However, if you want to just sit and relax and enjoy great service, this is the place.

I was there for the Halloween eve karaoke party. It was pretty decent and fun. I enjoyed it. The place is cozy and the menu here is great. I am new to this town and this is one of the best places I have been to.

Hiya. My pal & I both of us from the U.K. called in for a beer & a snack. The Attractive lady who took our drink & food request was very helpful. It had a very welcoming atmosphere & as we found during our holiday very friendly people. Well worth a second visit.

I've been to this place twice and had a really good time. The drinks are good and lots of options. The food is okay, nothing to kill for, but then again it is an entertainment place so you shouldn't come here expecting top notch food in the first place. The bowling was $28 per game and the rest of the games such as air hockey and basketball were about $2-$4 for two people. I will definitely go back there again.
25.12.2017 Alex
Fun experience! My friends and I had a great time catching up on life while playing bowling and pool. The alcohol drinks seem a bit watered down... but other than that, the food was decent! I recommend going to this place for the games!

For a bowling spot, the food and drinks are pretty awesome. I also love the late night happy hour.

Good times, was company event so can't comment on prices but bowling was fun and appetizers were good.

We had a really nice time here. We came upstairs just for cocktails and some appetizers in the lounge area. There was a great jazz band playing that really helped to set the atmosphere. The view was spectacular! Recommend for couples, families and friends!

I really enjoyed the experience here. We went on a Monday night and it was not that busy. We could easily find a table for 5 people. The waiter was nice to us and knew Spanish; he talked to my friends in their own language. He also recommended me a great delicious dessert. The food was really good and also the beverages were tasty. We liked that there are a lot of tables near the window and it was also live music. Also, at the end, the co managers talked to us more than 15 minutes, showing that they care about the people and restaurant.

I make it a point to eat here whenever I visit Boston. Yes, it is a somewhat pricey joint but the views make it worth it. The views are good both night and day, though I prefer the day ones as the water is then visible. The food is excellent, though the portions are small. It's an uppity joint so don't be surprised if the patrons are all well dressed, particularly at night. It's attached to a reasonably nice mall if shopping still tickles your fancy after you've paid the tab.

I wanted to commend the staff on a wonderful evening in the wake of what could have been a disaster. I planned a post-conference cocktail hour for several high-ranking executives in the insurance industry. I called 3 weeks previous to ensure that we had a proper space but did not understand that the lounge space was first-come-first-serve. Upon arrival, I became quite terrified as I realized there would not be space for my guests. However, Mike, Jonathon, Denise, and specifically Daniel (our server), were wonderful. They accommodated my quite-large party as quickly as possible even as my frayed nerves were beginning to show through. Five Star-Five Diamond service and accommodation. I could not speak more highly and my superiors (accustomed to such) were duly impressed as well. As I am a member of several Boston-based organizations in which we host conference execs, I plan to be back many more times (with the right pre-planning this time, of course!). Thank you for a wonderful evening and I plan on spreading the word!

Loved our brunch experience! The view, food and service were exceptional. Take the advice of the servers and pace yourself for brunch. It's a lot of food. We had the spinach salad and bacon-wrapped scallops, which were perfect. We will likely be back for dessert in their lounge later in our trip.
