The shower drain was blocked with hairs. Very disgusting!
We couldn’t continue to use the shower because the water gathered a pool in the shower area. The maintenance guy came to fix it quite quickly however it left a mess in the bathroom, with hairs on the floor and dirts on the shower mat.
I had to call again for cleaning. Considering it was our first night and just after arrival with jet lag, it was quite disappointed. And after everything was done, I found thatthey left their keys in the bathroom, so had to phone the reception again..
🚩 I booked back-to-back rooms at Hotel AKA Nomad (3 days small → 7 days large). At check-in, staff promised I wouldn’t need to vacate – they’d move me directly.
🔥 WHAT WENT WRONG:
On move day, Manager Angel broke this promise:
🕒- Forced me to check out 3 HOURS EARLY (claiming cleaning for the next guest).
🧳- Offered only luggage storage (no room access, no apology, no compensation).
🙅- NO room access during wait
😠- NO apology or compensation
This is unacceptable:
✔️ False promises at check-in.
✔️ Prioritizing new guests over current ones.
✔️ Zero effort to fix their mistake.
🚨Do not trust this hotel’s word.
[Update following the hotel’s reply:]
Thank you for your response, but unfortunately, your staff’s handling of the situation was far below expectations. I hope you take real steps to improve internal communication and guest treatment, because what I experienced was not acceptable from a hotel of this level.
[Update following the hotel’s calling:]
After publishing this review, Manager Lisa promptly contacted me to apologize and:
✓ Immediately provided the upgraded room
✓ Offered complimentary amenities as goodwill
✓ Acknowledged the staff miscommunication
While the initial experience was unacceptable, I appreciate the swift resolution. I'm monitoring if these service improvements continue for future guests before fully revising my rating."
The next morning their breakfast was sparse, cold, and overcharged. Of course not included in the room. The shower drain backed up and when complaining the front desk acknowledged the strange plumbing, badly lit hotel design, and poorly planned staircase.
Water a basic human necessity is NOT provided in room. Asked for water, then told it would be an extra charge! Hotel let me go to CVS at 10pm to purchase my own water without any comment or apologies.
I’ve traveled extensively in my past. AKA NYC this level of service quality is an embarrassment to your establishment, your city, and the United States of America. DO BETTER PLEASE!
Two points that I am not satisfied with;
1 The light control in the room is very strange, sometimes on and sometimes off
2 The room is next to the street, which is a bit noisy at night, especially at 3 or 4 in the morning when the cleaners go to work, and you can hear the sound of the forklift.
After a 12-hour flight, we were given our room only to find that none of the plumbing worked: no shower, no toilet, no sink. We had to wait over two hours while a (very kind) plumber attempted to unclog everything. As expected, the bathroom was left in an absolute mess. I politely asked for someone to clean it and bring fresh towels — a basic request under the circumstances.
No one from the hotel staff responded. It wasn’t until I raised my voice that anyone even acknowledged me — and when they did, the interaction was shockingly hostile. A woman, visibly angry, literally threw towels in my face. No apology, no courtesy, nothing.
For $400 a night, the very least one should expect is a working bathroom on arrival — or at minimum, a respectful staff and basic housekeeping.
This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
