⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We booked this hotel nearly nine months before our trip to Washington, D.C., and although there was unexpected confusion because the property had changed ownership before our arrival, everything worked out thanks to Shahina.
I called while we were still driving from Indiana, worried we might not have a room. Even though the front desk was extremely busy, Shahina took the time to help me, assured me she had a room available, and promised she would honor the rate I had originally booked. When we arrived, she remembered our conversation and kept her word. Her professionalism, kindness, and follow-through made all the difference after a long day of travel.
The hotel itself turned out to be an excellent choice. Even though I booked it months earlier without knowing the area, the location was convenient to downtown attractions while still feeling comfortable and reasonably safe. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, providing a welcome place to recharge after a hot July day.
The complimentary deluxe breakfast exceeded our expectations with a nice variety of hot and cold options, making it easy to start our day before heading into the city. Parking was a little tight, but it was convenient and easy to access.
Thank you, Shahina, for turning what could have been a stressful arrival into a positive experience. Your customer service and integrity were truly appreciated.
Upon arrival, I was disappointed by the lack of a warm welcome. As someone with a background in hospitality, I understand how important it is to engage with guests, provide clear check-in instructions, and make them feel at ease. However, the front desk service was minimal, and I was left standing without much guidance or interaction. I didn’t feel the usual level of hospitality I’ve come to expect.
The room itself also fell short of expectations. It didn’t appear to have been thoroughly cleaned before our arrival. I found a piece of plastic stuck to the floor, and the toilet paper hadn’t been replaced, just a small amount left from the previous guest, with an extra roll provided. These small details can have a big impact on the guest experience.
To make matters worse, the view from the room was less than ideal, with ongoing construction happening right behind the building.
On a positive note, the Filipino maintenance staff member was very accommodating, which I appreciated. Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise and quite good.
One important note for future guests: the hotel operates on a no-cash policy for transactions, including sundry items, so be prepared to use a credit card.
While I was only looking for a one-night stay, and it wasn’t a complete deal-breaker, I had hoped for a higher standard of cleanliness and service. Given Wyndham’s reputation, I believe more attention to detail and hospitality is needed. I hope these issues are addressed so future guests can have a better experience.
The breakfast is same each day. Eggs, bagels, sausage, muffin, bread, waffle.
You won't be able to eat it after 2 days.
Juice cups are so small that one will keep spilling the juice under the juice machine. Extremely poor quality cereal and Apple juice. Definitely needs an upgrade and additional variety of breakfast items.
One of the two elevator don't work. So, always a long wait.
The beds were uncomfortable, with squeaky frames and rock-hard mattresses that left me waking up each morning with terrible back pain. To make matters worse, there were several occasions when we had no running water — no way to shower, brush our teeth, or even flush the toilet. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, the receptionist simply said, “That’s an outside issue, it doesn’t have anything to do with us.” There was no apology, no sense of concern, and certainly no effort to make things right.
I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. If you currently have a reservation at La Quinta, do yourself a favor and cancel it now — you’ll be glad you did.
Rooms were clean and roomy except no place to open up luggage except on the bed or floor. The free breakfast had great waffles, but eggs had strange taste and could not eat them. Thank goodness Donald helped us get bacon for breakfast which was not normally served.
Although we did not drive we noticed they had a gated parking lot for a fee. Hope they can do something to help people feel safer.
