Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend
Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was a letdown from the moment we arrived.
• Strong cigarette smell throughout the hotel made it very unpleasant.
• Air conditioning was not working, which made sleeping extremely uncomfortable.
• Rooms are small and poorly soundproofed — we could hear people talking near the elevators.
• Only one pillow per person, and no extras were available.
• We requested a large bed, but were given two small beds that weren’t even pushed together.
• Breakfast was below average – not much variety or quality.
• The rooftop restaurant has a nice view, but service was discriminatory. We were denied entry for wearing open-toe sandals, even though others with slippers were allowed in. It felt unfair and inconsistent.
Overall, it was not a comfortable or welcoming experience. I would not stay here again.

It's good value for money, but I don't really like the decorating style; it's a bit oppressive and old-fashioned.

Old carpet. Two small single beds from communist time. Nice bathroom and shower. Personal is not welcoming and the atmosphere in the hotel is not good. The place doesn't feel like a safe space at all.

Although advertised as four star hotel it's nowhere near. The rooms are average, cleaning service don't come every day and the bins near entrance are usually full of garbage. The staff at the reception could be more polite, and in general every evening there are a lot of murky guys and obscure dressed ladies coming into hotel.

In general hotel was nice but my experience from the breakfast was very poor. To be honest the service did not clean the tables, it was very difficult to find the rable without leftovers from the food of predecessors. Additionally satin stairs were full of stains. It was visible that somebody spoilt something on the seat or grabbed the back of the chair with his dirty hand. Awful.

We stayed here 2 nights as part of a tour. 10-12 July 2025
The room: was comfortable. Our safe did not work. We reported it and were told we could change rooms or have it repaired the next day. We chose to wait until the next day. It was not fixed.
Breakfast: was good. Plenty of options. Coffee good from machine. Staff friendly and very busy.
Alegro Lobby Bar: the female bar person working in there was extremely rude. And she didn't make the cocktails with all ingredients listed. I was very nice in my request and she was still rude. She was like that to many members from our travel group. Service gets 2 stars because of this staff member

I should never give any star for this hotel but giving 1 star as there is no option. Hotel looks great on the outside but inside sucks. It's clean and neat but service is very bad.
AC doesn't work. They fixed the system and it shows that temperature is 18 degrees but there is no visible vent in the room. There is a vent behind the curtains and it is not working. Room is very stuffy and hot due to this. They don't even give a kettle for hot water. When i asked for a kettle, they said that they don't have it. I can't belive why a 4 star hotel cannot even give a kettle or iron box. These are basic stuff that every other 4 star hotels offer.

The hotel looks a lot, but it is actually very bad. The waitresses at the restaurant are not at all friendly except for a Cuban woman who works there, who was the only one who treated us very well. We stayed there for three days with a group and the food was very bad, tasteless, the fish was dry, really very disappointing.

Tv wasn't working, safe wasn't working, ventilation wasn't working. Room service just on the first day from four days in row. We was with more people's at the same time in different rooms and the others had the same problems plau additionals like shower wasn't working etc. Not gym, no pool just Botox and Casino. Breakfast was horrible, juices most times empty, coffee really bad if available, quality of the food not related to the stars of the hotel. Room was really loud from the street and I was on the 11 floor and window was closed.
Overall not more than two stars for the hotel acceptable.

Astoria Grand Hotel is definitely not a 4-star hotel. The breakfast is very modest, both in terms of variety and quality. The rooms are outdated, as shown by peeling wallpaper, a leaking shower, and lukewarm water that makes showering unpleasant. In short: the location is good, parking is available (but not free), but the hotel is clearly past its prime and in urgent need of maintenance. It is certainly not 4 stars, more like 2, maybe 3 at best.
