Expo Hotel Sofia in Sofia

Bathroom is Dirty, There Are Water stains on the ceiling and mold on the wall, climate control is nonexistend, my ac panel was set for cooling but the temp in my Room was Rising and Rising Till it hit 27°, you cant Even open the window. Feels like a prison.. too hot

I honestly have no idea where to even rate this hotel because the experience has been a disaster from the moment I arrived. The hotel advertised a free shuttle, and when I emailed earlier, they confirmed there would be a taxi waiting for us. But at 3am, there was absolutely no taxi driver at the arrival hall. Zero. If not for the random taxi outside, we would’ve been stranded for hours. That already set the tone. Oh ya, i sent a message to the hotel after minites of waiting at the airport they don't bother to reply 😏 if they told us no shuttles, we would understand that. But they lied.

Then the room… what a joke. I can't open the window. The foyer, the mini fridge was cooler than my room. My room temperature was 27°C, basically like a sauna. I tried calling the reception, but like the other said,they purposely provided you with faulty phone inside the rooms, so that, guests won't be bothering them. I went down to see the receptionist,the lady told me somebody would come, but she lied. Why i said she lied, she said she will get someone to come RIGHT AWAY. But no one is coming and i was patiently waiting for the technician or anyone to check my room.
Basically she lied to me two times. Nothing wrong with telling the truth.

And on top of that, the water wasn’t even warm. A 4 star hotel? Sorry, not with this standard, with the room conditions . There are so many problems that it’s hard to even list them all. To be honest, I was extremely disappointed. This stay has been far from what a 4 star hotel should offer..

The hotel lost its beauty from 10 years ago. The rooms are not well maintained, there were hairs in the bathroom (floor and bathtub), the toilet paper is in a dispenser like in a public toilet and you need both hands to grab a piece, the trash bin falls when you step on the button, so it has to be open by hand, there is no security pull thread in the bathroom, the curtains are not enough to cover the windows, the cups are small as for a mid lenght coffee but not enough for a tea.

My room was next to the elevators and it was really noise. The pillows were the cheapest ones so it was hard to sleep on them at all.

I left about 5 AM so instead of the included breakfast I've requested a breakfast package. It was pretty decent about of food, BUT one of the sandwiches was with expired period for 5 days, the apple was rotten. The other sandwich was on the edge to got rotten.

I'm really disappointed from the stay, and will never give them a chance again.

Dont book this hotel if you dont want to have bad experience. They can give you a room above a wedding venue which will cause you only bad sleep.
Rooms are also very damaged and you will have wet floor in the shower because of broken glass.
Would not recommend anyone. Stay away.
