Regent Shanghai on The Bund in Shanghai

Booked two rooms for two nights with my family at the end of November. The pictures show the Waibaidu Bridge view room.

The decor is luxurious, and all the furniture is from European designer brands. Not only does the baby bathtub come with temperature monitoring, but even the baby chairs in the breakfast restaurant are luxurious and comfortable! 😄

The service is truly exceptional. From check-in to the breakfast staff and cleaning ladies, everyone was friendly and willing to help. The concierge even helped us bring takeout to our room. A big thank you to Archer for patiently bringing us things multiple times, and the other concierges were also wonderful.

Here are three tips for those considering booking this hotel:
1. The Waibaidu Bridge view room truly only looks at Waibaidu Bridge; you can't see the Bund skyline. The Bund view rooms, however, have a balcony and offer views of the Bund.
2. In both of the above room types, the bathroom and bedroom are not completely separated. There is a spatial division, with glass doors for the shower and toilet, but no door for the bathroom itself. If your companion needs to use the restroom while you're sleeping, you might be woken up…
3. Although baby bathtubs and high chairs are provided, the hotel itself cannot be considered entirely baby-friendly:
- The decor mainly features stone and metal, which can make parents with young children (ours is under two) a bit nervous.
- While the room provides a baby bathtub, a small stool cannot be provided, making it difficult to bathe the baby. We managed to get a step stool for the baby on the second night, which solved the problem.
- The breakfast restaurant has high-quality baby chairs and toddler cutlery, but there are no baby-friendly changing tables, surfaces, or spaces on the same floor for diaper changes. We had to take our baby back to the room mid-meal to change and then return downstairs to continue eating, which was quite inconvenient.

The room was very quiet and the ambiance was fantastic, though I couldn't get an upgrade. The smoking area near the entrance was very convenient. The facilities are top-notch. The hallway was a bit dim, but it really added to the atmosphere. Highly recommended, especially popular with foreign guests.

The views are unbeatable! Joy's service was also excellent; the whole check-in process was responsive and communication was smooth. Thumbs up to all the staff! The breakfast had a wide variety of options and attentive service, and the restaurant terrace offered expansive views – very enjoyable! The room was a bit compact, and the soundproofing wasn't great (but I'm also a light sleeper). Minor issues aside, it's highly recommended!

Absolutely a perfect experience! We specifically chose the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong to celebrate our child's birthday, and the outcome far exceeded our expectations, leaving our whole family with beautiful and unforgettable memories. Kelsey provided warm and thoughtful service, the guest relations team decorated the room with great care, and the breakfast was delicious and abundant. In short, many thanks to the Grand Hyatt team for creating this perfect experience for us.

Honestly, the service and hygiene were decent, but the room comfort was poor and the value for money was really low. We booked two Bund view rooms, and both were a bit small; you had to go to the corner of the balcony just to barely see the 'three-piece suit' (Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center). One of the rooms had an awkward, crooked layout, and a single sink... plus the bathtub was in the living room, and you had to walk through the shower to get to it... I was truly baffled. It was stifling hot at night, and the duvet wasn't breathable either. I guess I can only blame myself for not choosing the hotel wisely regarding the硬件(hardware/facilities), but the breakfast was absolutely terrible! I have to complain about it! It definitely didn't justify the room rate; not only was the variety limited, but the quality was also very poor! I took two bites and couldn't eat anymore. It was arguably the worst breakfast I've ever had at a hotel!!

Our family's stay at the Shanghai Seagull on the Bund Hotel was absolutely perfect! I especially want to commend our butler, Yveline. She was incredibly attentive throughout our stay, accurately picking up on my preferences and even swapping a bottle of red wine for three other drinks, which was a thoughtful gesture beyond our expectations. The hotel itself boasts an excellent location with expansive river views, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The Shanghai-style retro decor adds a touch of sophistication. From check-in to check-out, every detail exuded professionalism and warmth. Yveline's dedication made our trip even more pleasant. We would definitely choose this hotel again and highly recommend it!

I chose this hotel for a weekend getaway with my two-year-old through a Ctrip 'one city, one night' promotion. I initially thought Regent mainly catered to couples and business travelers, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well they handle families. The room was equipped with a children's bathrobe, slippers, toiletries, and even a fruit cake for the little one. My child was thrilled, peering over the balcony to enjoy the view. The night view was also quite good; although the angle was a bit skewed due to the hotel's location, everything else was excellent. Our butler, Lily, was incredibly thoughtful, reaching out in advance to understand our preferences and responding immediately to any questions or needs. Nice!

My recent trip to Shanghai was made absolutely unforgettable by my stay at the Regent Shanghai Pudong! As an IHG luxury brand hotel, it perfectly embodies the concept of 'a new view at every turn.' From my room's balcony, the dazzling lights of Lujiazui's skyscrapers and the historic Bund architecture across the Huangpu River created a breathtaking panorama. Every photo I took looked like it belonged in a magazine.

The hotel is situated at 60 Huangpu Road, just a stone's throw from the famous Waibaidu Bridge and a 5-minute walk to the Bund Observation Deck. For citywalk enthusiasts, this is the ultimate starting point: Lujiazui's iconic 'three-piece suit' to the east, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street to the west, and the International Cruise Terminal Station on Metro Line 12 also nearby.

🛏️ Immersive Experience
I was immediately impressed by the meticulous butler service upon check-in – welcome fruits and red wine were already set, and the turndown service even thoughtfully adjusted the room lighting. As a Ctrip Black Diamond member, I even unlocked a hidden breakfast menu! I highly recommend trying the freshly made Lobster Eggs Benedict; it's even better with the river view.
The room wasn't exceptionally large, but the layout was exquisite, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable – I slept like a baby.

1. For river view rooms, choose a higher floor (10th floor and above recommended) for a more expansive view.

3. Head to the Bund after 10 PM to avoid crowds and catch the building lights-out ceremony.
4. The hotel offers guided tours of the historic buildings at Yuanmingyuan Road (reservations required).

Facilities: This newly opened hotel is very well-equipped, excellent, and highly automated.
Cleanliness: Absolutely superb! The turndown service was great ദ്ദി(˵ •̀ ᴗ - ˵ ) ✧
Environment: The hotel's location is fantastic, enhanced by the unbeatable views ✌︎' ֊' It's fine that the room is a bit small, as it offers a full, unobstructed view of the Bund and the three iconic buildings.
Service: Assistant Lily was very enthusiastic, and the front desk service was very proactive (❁´ω`❁). Everyone at breakfast was very warm and welcoming, and the breakfast itself was indeed great! Although the buffet selection might be a bit limited.
It was a wonderful stay! I'll definitely come back if I have the chance!

🏨 Unbeatable Location: Holding the prime spot on the North Bund, our room faced the Lujiazui 'Three-Piece Suit' directly. My child was practically jumping for joy, counting the cruise ships from the window!

🛏️ Room Experience: The 45 sqm river view room was incredibly spacious! The Regent bedding allowed three of us to roll around without feeling cramped, and the TV in the bathroom mirror let the kids watch cartoons while bathing – so thoughtful!

🍽️ Culinary Delights: Upon check-in, we received complimentary welcome fruit, dessert, and red wine. The freshly boiled shrimp wontons at breakfast won over the entire family's stomachs. In the evening, enjoying red wine from the mini-bar on the terrace while watching the Bund light up was incredibly atmospheric.

👨👩👧 Kid-Friendly Touches: We received a card puzzle toy upon arrival, and at 8:00 PM, they delivered exquisite mini cakes and small fruits. The little one wouldn't let go of the brownie mini cake!
