The renovation works on lobby area are extensive and inconvenient. Entrance to hotel further along and via side door. Up a flight of stairs to a temporary reception. Took ages to check in. Room ok, but aircond fan noisy. Clean room. Small bathroom. Nightclub downstairs is ok. Live music. How this was still £400 for one night stay I am unsure. The works finish before Christmas, they said. I have an office in Munich. Here once a month or 6 weeks. I’m back in Munich in two weeks but won’t be staying here ‘til 2026. Even then I’ll be checking prices.

Unfortunately the 1st hour we found ourselves, in our hotel bathroom which, flooded. Not exactly sure where the water was coming from but at one point the smell was a bit putrid. Clearly the issue had been overlooked as the hallway carpet was pre stained prior to us.
The issue was discovered whilst walking in the bathroom. A minor slip happened which at the time luckily didn't result in a serious injury but later we discover a muscle must have been pulled while I caught myself from not hitting the ground. I spoke of this to the employee who moved us to another room. He apologized, mentioned he’d let the manager know and thats the last we heard from anyone about our inconvenience. It’s not the problem but how you deal with it and they didn’t.
I dont have many positive things to recommend about this hotel but I’ll try.
The rooftop bar is lovely, with a good selection of drinks, food and a scenic view plus it had a relaxing decor. The pool and spa area was a lovely, clean, well appointed area but it’s a bit unclear how to get to all the amenities.
The reception was under construction and because of Octoberfest the lines were hectic, the staff felt stressed, it wasn’t a 5 star check in.
It didn't help that after our stay here we went to Hotel Sacher Salzburg where the room cost less, the service was unforgettably incredible, the room adorable, straight out of a magazine.

The hotel is amazing!
Staff were outstanding, especially Ben Said from Tunisia.
They upgraded us to a spacious, classic-style room with a separate dressing room and option for a connected room.
They even installed a bidet spray in the bathroom and helped return our rental car.
The location is quiet and perfect for relaxation, with very comfortable beds and pillows.
Highly recommended!

At Hotel Bayerischer Hof, the check-in process was extremely delayed, and I did not receive my room until 3:30 p.m. My luggage was also delivered very late, arriving in the room close to 4:00 p.m. The service lacked professionalism and showed little care for guests. The staff should improve their performance, as this delay caused me to arrive late to the Oktoberfest event.

I am a frequent customer at Bayerischer Hof and I am actually a fan of the hotel. This time the experience was terrible. The hotel is a refurbishment site (lobby etc.) and the room in the appendix that I had (the old facility) is not worth 3 stars (not even the minimum standards like tidyness etc.) are fulfilled. Therefore it is massively overpriced at these rates and I can only warn future customers unfortunately!

Beautiful historic hotel with many amenities and things to do. We throughly enjoyed our stay. Staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. Everything is within walking distant of the hotel within a few blocks, dining, cafes, trollers, shopping, even has a theatre. The views from the rooftop bar were the perfect nightcap.

It’s an old hotel and got renovated recently. The original entrance is still blocked for construction. So we had to enter through a narrow hallway to the second floor for reception which was giving an off feeling from a five star hotel.

Room:
The room was ok. But I reserved a king bed, they gave me two twin together which was not comfortable because of the gap in between. Also the blanket was so short, I’m five four, the blanket could hardly cover my feet, so I didn’t sleep well whole night.

Food:
Used the roof top restaurant for dinner, it was so bad, food was salty and the rice was not cooked and the price was high. The server led us in asked us 1.5 hours is enough for not because the seat was reserved. I thought it was rude to ask the customer this question. The breakfast was also not good at all. So I didn’t eat much.

Other: they didn’t use cloth laundry bag but paper bags. And it’s a $500 five star hotel?

I did not enjoy my stay in this hotel.

Service was impeccable, room was very nice. I was impressed with the large size of the room as typically in Europe you encounter smaller rooms. The bathroom was very generous. I had a room that wasn't renovated and the modern colors and wished I did but otherwise the stay was outstanding. Concierge was amazing even arranging a private driver for me at very last minute. The Spa wasn't at a 5star level for me hence only giving 4 stars. It was my first German spa experience. The room where my massage was in was tiny, I could hear all of the noise outside from footsteps to kids screaming and the entrance was a common area so it wasn't very private. Absolutely LOVED the Polynesian bar in the lower level, at Trader Viks. Jess V was a great bartender and we enjoyed the food and drinks. I will send clients to this historic hotel. It is SO close to the sites of downtown Munich!

The good things are: location, room size.

The bad things are too numerous to count! The room hadn't been renovated in ages; it was old and clunky. The faucet on the basin was so jarring that it hit my face when I washed it. Of course, I went to a similarly branded hotel, Lindau, and was again rated so low that I was speechless. This hotel brand is utterly run-down and makeshift, relying solely on the location. It's completely not worth the price. The same goes for the breakfast; I don't know where all the great reviews for it come from. I took a picture of the napkins and thought it was ridiculous. There was only one pack of tissues for the entire room. They must have been made in Yiwu.
