Hotel Mariahilf München in Munchen

I was on a business trip to Munich, and it just so happened that the Photon Quantum Automation Conference was being held at the same time. Since I couldn't find a hotel within my budget, I chose this one. The location is really great; it's convenient to the subway, city center, attractions, and the convention center. There's a chain supermarket less than 200 meters away. The hotel's buffet breakfast is particularly good; it's open to the public, and even locals pay to eat there. The menu changes daily. The hotel rooms vary in size, but all are the same price (that's how it was when we went). For our group of five, some rooms were over 70 square meters, some over 50 square meters, and some were only 20 square meters (see the pictures; rooms 11 and 10 on the second floor and above are the larger rooms). The facilities are old; some closets don't close properly, and the floors creak (there are differences between rooms; the smallest one I stayed in was the 70+ square meter one, which was luxurious). You only get a key to the room. There's no elevator, so carrying luggage on the third or fourth floor would be tiring. The hotel is a guesthouse, managed by a very kind elderly lady who is probably the owner. There are also two or more poodles and other dogs. Upon returning to China, I realized I hadn't requested an invoice. Initially, my emails went unanswered, so I sought help from Ctrip customer service representative Cai Si, who helped communicate with the hotel. At first, the hotel refused to communicate by phone to protect user privacy, which made me a little worried. My email explanation wasn't very clear, adding to the difficulty. Fortunately, Cai Si persevered and finally managed to get the invoice reissued. Overall, the hotel receipts were fine, so I could stay there with peace of mind during my business trip, although it wasn't as convenient or reassuring as receiving payment directly through Ctrip. Ctrip's service was surprisingly good this time; it truly impressed me. The AI-powered system easily found a real person, and the customer service representatives were incredibly professional and attentive in helping me resolve issues. Previously, I used Ctrip domestically and Alitrip and Ctrip internationally, but this time my boss insisted on using Ctrip, saying it was more reliable. It seems that experience has proven true.

The staff were lovely and accommodating. They made me feel very welcome and at ease. The hotel has a very antique feel with the decor. I was lucky enough to stay while the big local market was happening right next door! The WiFi wasn’t working in the rooms, but I didn’t spend much time in the hotel anyways. If I came back to Munich I’d try to stay here again!

Appreciated the early check-in!
We stumbled on this place when almost all hotels in Munich were booked. in fact, it's an easy walk to the center (15 minutes or so) with even easier access to Gartnerplatz. Our room was very spacious and comfortable.
The cappuccino could be better but there was plenty of fresh fruit and good bread for breakfast buffet.
Most of all, we appreciated that we arrived quite early and they cleaned the room and gave us access before 10am! That was exceptional service.

Hidden gem for closeness to downtown
Nice pleasant stay. I was only there for 9 hours. Breakfast was your typical German breakfast which I like. Room was small but comfortable. Location for me was great my business was just across the street.

Both bus and tram station are just a couple of minutes away and you can get to the city center in 10-15min. Definitely a good price for being so close to the city center.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating for their size. Breakfast was great. Location was far enough away from busier parts of the city to not be crowded but close enough to easily get to them.
