It does not look a Mercure Hotel at all. Old, not refurbished. They messed up my reservation and they gave me a room that was actually with a guest inside. They blame the person who was doing an internship, this should not happen at all. Also my colleague, he could not entry his room because they gave him a key for another room. I did not feel safe at all

The room was nice and quiet, located in the lower-end part of the city center, conveniently located near the train station and airport, and within walking distance of Cologne Cathedral. The breakfast was very plentiful, the room was clean, and the receptionist was very welcoming.

While it's a bit of a distance from the Cologne Exhibition Center, it's conveniently located right next to the subway station, making it very accessible. The facilities are great, and the surrounding area is very pleasant!

But some equipment was not working in order. And as the only elevator doesn’t have the sign from the floor side, it was a bit not convenient.

Location is great, service was very nice and attentive too. The issue here is that the hotel is a time capsule from ´90s of last century. Additionally very inconsistent rooms. We had reserved two double bed rooms. One was double and second two single beds put together. One room had many cosmetics in bathroom rohe other just two half bottles of shampoo. In one room lamp had no bulb.

The entire hotel stank of sewage our whole stay. When I arrived, my bedding had multiple washed out blood stains on it. When I requested a new bedding, I was given another one with a black smear stain.

The room had awful ancient carpet that was so aged it looked dirty even after being cleaned. The room in general was clearly in dire need of renovation.

The only positive was that the staff were very nice.

Great Location! Especially for night life.
Pubs, restaurants, shops, supermarket, clubs everything very handy. Transportation too. The accommodation was offering everything needed.

The hotel is excellently located in Cologne. There are plenty of international restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

We had a night out before the titanic exhibition and wanted a hotel in a lively part of cologne. This Hotel in the Frieseviertel was perfect. Good quiet rooms, a healthy breakfast, friendly staff and nightlife just around the corner. We highly recommend the Päffgen Brewery down the road, and Scotia Whisky Store
