Apollon Hotel in Agios Nikolaos

This is an excellent 3* hotel with a very relaxed atmosphere. The bedding towels changed everyday. The rooms are perfect ,clean and Greek. The food was very good and something for everyone. The location couldn't be any better, 1 min marina beach and excellent walks around the peninsula from Marina to the port and lake this way is a flat surface to walk it. The hotel staff are one big family and brilliant, the room staff really work hard to keep everyone happy, restaurant staff very attentive and quick tockear and clean, 24 hkur reception very experienced, I even experienced Greek dancing with the manager. Perfect spot. Love to Maria, Shophie and Demetris. Xx

As previous reviews have stated, there are many more positives than negatives with this hotel. First the negatives, the single room I was in was clean, but in need of a general update; there was also a safety issue where the gap between the end of the bed and the wall where the TV was fixed, was so narrow that you had to crane your neck to avoid a collision. Onto the positives. The hotel is a city hotel, and shouldn’t be compared with large all inclusive hotels. The facilities are fine, it’s well organised, and pleasantly compact, and very close to a beach and the town centre. The town is quite hilly in parts, but lovely, and a pleasure to walk round and explore. The food, though repetitive at times, was better than I’ve experienced in four and five star all inclusives in other countries. A lot of it is home made. Again, as per previous reviews, the staff are the real asset; they’re all incredibly pleasant and polite, and helpful should you need it. They will also happily share knowledge of the area, places to go etc.

Pool was dirty with old sun tan oil - very orange and greasy above water line, plus black mould on the grout lines - yuk! Complained to pool manager, who shrugged his shoulders, said it was cleaned at 7am! Pointed this out to night manager who promptly passed to hotel manager. Pool partially cleaned next morning but mould still on grout of pool tiles. Hence we never used the pool! Otherwise lovely hotel, brilliant bar and hotel reception staff.

Receptionist went well beyond what was required of her to correct a booking error. If the hotel manager reads this, the lady in question, I did not get her name, deserves promotion.

Here's my honest review. The location is fantastic. A couple of lovely beaches in walking distance and in easy walking distance to countless bars,restauranrs and shops. Agios Nikolaos is a very laid back and chilled resort and the hotel has the same feel. The staff are fantastic, very friendly people and very accommodating. Special shout goes to Maria and Demetris who look after the bar, and Eleni at the front reception. Somes names I didn't get but the General Manager and the gentleman that looks after the dinner service were also top drawer people. The food was basic but always well cooked and tasty. The hotel was always clean. All in all it's a basic hotel but honestly extremely good value for money. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms are unfinished, the bathroom is small, cramped, the old air conditioning works but smells of mold. On the other hand, the staff and the location are a 10, they fully compensate for the shortcomings. Extremely friendly and kind, bedding and towels are changed daily. The dining room is quite small but the food is very good and diverse, they also cook a lot of traditional dishes, chicken, fish, pork, lamb, tzatziki is always there, salads with various raw materials. For these reasons, I still give it 5 stars. And it is very close to the Ammos blue flag beach

Great value hotel in the heart of agios nikolaos, within walking distance of lake and beaches. If you want 5* then this hotel is not for you Rooms were very clean , staff from cleaning to bar were all brilliant and made our stay great We went all-inclusive, always something you could eat

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at apollon last week. Staff are all very courteous and friendly. The food in the restaurant was always lovely Greek authentic food and enough choice for everyone. Location perfect for ammos beach 150 m, ten min walk to lake and port and ten min to bus station. I would return

A bit of a late review as I stayed here in Oct 24 for a 10 night solo holiday. I had a fantastic time here. The staff are really friendly and welcoming (a true credit to the place) and the hotel is very clean. I stayed all inclusive and for the size of the hotel, I was very impressed with the quality and variation of the food, there was always something suitable to eat. The hotel pool is a decent size with a good seating area. I never had to wait for a free sun bed. Only slight downside is that mosquitoes are active around the pool area but this was easily solved with a squirt or two of mozzie spray. The location is perfect for exploring...gorgeous beaches in walking distance, shopping, great bars and restaurants nearby, boat trips and excursions are easily accessed too. As a female travelling solo I also felt extremely safe in the area, including at night so I'd highly recommend to others travelling on their own. I've now booked to go back again when the season starts up as there's still so much that I want to do there that I didn't get a chance to do on my previous visit. If you're looking for an ideally situated hotel that's child free, clean, friendly, helpful and not too busy, then this is a perfect choice!
