Elounda Alikes Suites & Studios in Elounda

Fantastic, small and very friendly hotel set at the far end of Elounda. It's a 15 minute stroll to centre, but what a stroll! You'll pass loads of restaurants that let you eat next to the sea and also one that floats. And if you don't fancy any of them, there's the restaurants at journeys end.
We had a seaview room with a great view over to Spinalonga. Aircon was 60 euros per week but good value as practically silent. The safe, 15 euros per week.
Kitchen facilities are poor, but then whilst we went self catering, we didn't anticipate cooking, so this wasn't an issue for us.
The pool is small, but adequate as there was rarely people in it. We suspect this was because it was absolutely freeeeeeezing! We overheard people complaining that their teeth were chattering (early September). So we didn't use it.
However, there is a small shingle beach available to use just a few yards from the front. This is a small area enclosed by two restaurant piers. I counted 18 sunbeds, but we only wanted to swim. It really made the difference for us If you really need a proper beach, then Elounda beach is near the centre i.e 15 minutes walk away.
Note that the transfer didn't drive to the hotel and we were transferred to a taxi in the town centre. Likewise going back, we went via a taxi to the church. Both paid for by the hotel.

Tip 1: Don't walk into town via the main road. Stick to the shoreline it's a lovely stroll.
Tip 2: Try the Jungle Bar 50 yards away for food and drink. It's great value and has draught beer.
Tip 3: Use the ATM in the side street in town opposite the Verona Cafe as it only charges 1.80 euro and gives the option to use English instructions. The nearer ATMs charge five euros.
Would have been 5 stars but for the pool.

Some things I would love to see improvement to come back again though, WIFI is pretty sketchy, and bed the mattress and bedding makes me roll over all the nights. By the way I am an easy sleeper. Kitchen is quite simple.

We stayed at Alikes for 2 nights only but it was long enough for us to feel it was a great choice.
We were 3 families and my family had a larger apartment as we were 5. We had 2x ACs, one in the bedroom and the other in the living room (where the sofa bed is) but one of the 3 families only had an AC in the living room and not in the bedroom. If visiting in summer, ask for an apartment with AC in the bedroom.

We did not have a chsnce to try the pool or the hammam but they looked lovely.

Location wise, the hotel is a bit off the main area where you'll find restaurants and shops so a car is very recommended. The street of the hotel is SUPER tight so you'll find it challenging if you face a coming car.

Staff is AMAZING. Angel who is there in the evening is a gem. She's always smiling even when the old creeps at the bar make weird comments towards her, she's jumping around helping in the rooms if you have an issue and even moved her car one night for us to have a place to park. She is a super star and I hope she is paid to her value.
Anna, the manager, is such a nice person. Smiling, always ready to help, you'll cross her at the bar/lobby every morning.

Alikes is a great choice of hotel if you have a car. The price is ridiculously fair (on the low side) so 100% a spot to stay when in Elounda

The rooms here are clean and comfortable, and there is always plenty of room hot water for the shower. We had a sea view room just a few metres from the sea, maybe 12/15m. There are sun loungers if that is your thing, a pool and a gym. The staff are all so helpful and friendly, but special mention about Nikos, he always seems to be delighted by everything! Also the Ginger cat is a lovely little chap, who seemed to adopt us! We have visited before, and are looking forward to coming back in the future.

Elounda Alikes is on the water in the beautiful and quaint town of Elounda. The rooms are above average size with a decent balcony for 2 people. The AC was great as well as the bed. The full bar and restaurant on the property are great and available most of the day and night with friendly and helpful staff. The pool and loungers are comfortable and enjoyable. There are a few restaurants in the same street. It is a 10 minute walk to The Square for more restaurants, bars, taxi stand, boat tours and supermarkets.

This was an amazing holiday and we were made to feel welcome from the day we arrived. The apartment was great and cleaned every day and the location was fantastic. The local restaurants were amazing along with all the local people. Such a peaceful fortnight. It was that good we have booked again for next year.

The views from the apartment are fantastic, the night life is good, plenty of places to eat and have a drink. If you don't want a big meal you can just have a snack at the bar in the hotel complex. The breakfast is very good, scrambled eggs just how I like them

We had a few issues with the air conditioning, until they reset it. The location is fabulous. About 2 meters from the sea. Our apartment looked out over the sea. It was beautiful. Room wasn't cleaned for 2 days, not nice when you can't put paper down the toilet. Gym and Spa not available. Pool bar prices same sort of prices as everywhere else.

The place gets better every year I come, only downside this year is Olga wasn't here. I had an apartment all to myself I felt like royalty, I know all the staff but it changes each season but some are here year in year out, which I good to see. As I won't be here for a while now, due to family commitments, I'm making the most of the beautiful scenery and the sea
