Faedra Beach in Agios Nikolaos

We are deeply disappointed with the accommodation conditions offered by Hotel Faedra Beach. We received a suite in which there was a strong smell of mold and humidity, which did not disappear throughout the stay. This made us feel that our health was threatened. The room did not look at all like the one mentioned in the agency's offer. The wardrobe does not offer the possibility of arranging clothes on shelves, with only a few hangers available, so we were forced to store our clothes in suitcases, improperly. The only socket in the bedroom is located between the wardrobe and the wall, making it impossible to use it. The red LED light from the exhaust lighting above the bed is directed downwards towards the head and is disturbing at night, etc. After two days they offered us a double room (not even a triple) with an extendable armchair, without the possibility of returning the price difference. The manager's justification was that he had nothing else available, the hotel being fully booked, he didn't mention the fact that he had offered one room and allocated another. Ironically, we were advised not to let the situation affect us and to enjoy our holiday. Being a larger group, we had the opportunity to compare the accommodation conditions offered to our friends and thus we noticed the huge difference in quality The breakfast was extremely modest and limited, the same thing every day, the cheeses and cold cuts stored in a small undersized display case. The staff was noisy very early in the morning.

Be warned! We stayed at this hotel in July 2007 and were given a dark, dingy room with a rundown bathroom. At least it was clean.The alleged garden view was actually a **** view. To top it off, the manager was unbelievable. He reminded me of Basil Fawlty. He made it pretty obvious that if you book on the internet you get the worst room.The pity is that it is located in a great spot. What a waste!

The room we had was dirty with sand in the tub and dust balls on the floor when we arrived. The manager had a "tell someone who cares attitude." The small convience store next door had extremly high pricers, over 3 Euro for a small jar of mayonase that was less than two Euro in town. No elevator with steep stairs to the third floor. There lots of better places to stay in the area.

Faedra Beach´s website says about a location of this hotel: "On a calm and sandy beach". It is a lye! There is a Crete´s principal highway between the hotel and beach. And because nearby flow into sea a cold mountain springs the water in sea is so cold that there is impossible to swim even in August. Very poor breakfast and very bad dinner. If it is a four-star-hotel then I´m a Pope. We booked this hotel by tour-operator and because the stay there was a torture we left the hotel after some days. And could you imagine - Faedra Beach took a penalty (!) for cancellation and didn´t return advanced money for these breakfasts and dinners that we didn´t eat there.

I was here from August 10 until 18. The hotel is okay, like i traveling a lot of world i will gave him 2-3 stars, but not 4 like they say. Every day morning food is the same, but if you come later it will be disaster. Couple eggs and ham slices. Its terible. Most guest are from russian. And in evening is not quite at all. I asked can hotel arrange me a taxi but they only gave me number and sad u call them.... so my opinion the price is to high for that terrible service. You can find much better hottels in agios nikolaos city center for that price.

Far from 4-star standards. I paid more than other guests for the same room, and when I asked Asimina and the manager for explanations, they had no valid arguments. Does not deliver what you pay for. I felt cheated. Not recommended.
