Geraniotis Hotel and Resort in Platanias

I booked this hotel myself, not through a travel agency. I read reviews and viewed photos, and I must admit that the hotel looks much better than in the photos, and we had a wonderful stay! We stayed eight nights and everything was great! The service, the delicious breakfast, the small but adequate gym, and above all, the location right on the beach, close to many attractions, yet in a very quiet area. Everything was spot on. We've stayed in many hotels with varying standards, but this one had a very family atmosphere, a Greek feel and very casual. Everything was great! Thank you team Geranitis for wonderful holiday!

Went her with my family in July 2025 and the hotel did not disappoint. They did try to put us in a family room even though we had booked to separate hotel rooms but that was sorted out after the first night. The hotel has a unique location/area with a part of the beach that feels private. I walk along the beach and looked at all the other hotels and Geraniotis stands out with their open green area. Sun beds on the green area is free and close to a nice pool and the pool bar. Sun beds are taken quite early so you will have to get up before 9 if you want sunbeds. We had all inclusive and the food was overall more than good enough for the whole family- for all meals. The training room was a little bit of a disappointment and really only has a two treadmills and a few light dumbbells. On the other hand they have table tennis so bring your own rackets. Service was over all very good, one grumpy old guy in the reception - but he was the exception. Be aware that there is a breeze all day so the sun does not feel as hot. A few days with a bit stronger wind and the beach was closed for swimming due to big waves (that are teens loved). The place was peaceful, no traffic noice, loud music or loud guest. Will definitely go back.

Tourism is big business on Crete and the team running the Geraniotis have figured out how to make the most of it. The main Platanias village on a hill is a 15 minute walk and Chania is 30 minutes away on regular crowded buses (with a stop right outside). The hotel is well designed: two-storey, white, vaguely Arab-style buildings with lots of grassy areas, flowerbeds and trees. The rooms are functional and well-equipped with good beds and little balconies. Although it is close to the main coast road it doesn't seem too noisy and the beach zone (with a kids playground, fitness equipment and a volley ball pitch, etc.) is particularly pleasant. There are two smallish pools. Food is served buffet style and includes Cretan eco-products. The evening menu varies, so a half-board deal doesn't get tedious. The people all smile and have obviously been trained to be super service-minded! In short, lots to recommend, notably for families.

Great place, good location, excellent design. All the staff was super friendly, and Lefteris impressed us with his openness plus he even spoke Polish to us. I definitely recommend this hotel. Thank you :)

It is worth buying family apartment typ de lux number 165 because it was worth the price. High standarts of ccleanliness,very goog food(regional green products👏).The beach place wonderfull(UNCROWDED,grassy beach of hotel and sand /gravel beach with turtle nests and sea lilies-NATURE 2000.They are no loud animatora and loud disco.There is atmospheric live music(e.g.greek and…swing👌).We recommend this hotel and I want to come back- Geraniotis OUER HOME!thank you for your hard work💚💚💚💚💚

Our Family stayed here last week, and my honest opinion is that the hotel is too perfect :). Before our vacation I have read some negative review, but we didn't faced nothing bad during our stay. It's a really family friendly and clean hotel, we got a room cleaning almost every day, the food was really fantastic, everybody found the best food for their needs. The staff also very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, the panorama also.

So we surely will come back here!

To me, the best hotel in the area.
I’ve lost count, but I’ve been here many times.
The people are the greatest. Sofia, especially. Always smiling, so welcoming and the biggest heart. The owners, super friendly! We see the same staff every year, so I think that says a lot about the atmosphere in the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, I’ve been in every room type and ofcourse the one with the private pool is amazing, but the apartments are great as well. Nice shower, everything is clean. Nothing to complain.

The food is good as well, plenty to choose from, there is something for everyone.

There is just something about this place, when you arrive.. the white buildings against the blue sky and ocean, the gardens, the peace.. 🤍💙 Hope to see you soon!

Also want to say something different, I’ve read somewhere in the reviews they wouldn’t be good to animals. I have never ever seen this! How do you know this was hotel staff and not guests? I know for a fact that the owners love cats! They even have hotel cats, and they take good care of them.

On arrival we were met by the night receptionist with a smile and a very helpful attitude. We were promptly shown to our room, so quickly loaded our cases into the room and headed to the pool bar for a night cap. The next day we opened the shutters of our balcony to be met with a beautiful sea view we were very happy. Next stop breakfast with lots of choices and all cooked freshly, the standard of the food is very good, that’s for lunch and dinner too. The location is perfect just on the edge of Platanias so nice and quiet but only a short walk to bars and restaurants we were spoilt for choice. There is a Lidl just over the road very handy if you need a few bits we used it regularly. The bus stop is just outside the hotel, we took a bus to Chania old port for 2 euro 20 each bargain for a twenty minute journey. The staff are all very friendly and always happy to assist. In summary a perfect place for a relaxing holiday and we will be sure to return.

Absolutely stunning hotel we are here now it's beautiful, rooms are lovely, staff are great can not fault the place we've got another 10 days to go yet, wud definitely recommend thus hotel everything is perfect
